It emphasizes that believers are not under the dominion of sin because they are under grace, not the law. The believer's victory over sin comes from a deep consciousness of righteousness, which is a gift from God through Christ. The text encourages believers to live out this righteousness by continuously renewing their minds and aligning their lives with their identity in Christ. The church, as the body of Christ, is called to rise in the knowledge of its identity, exercising authority over sin and darkness. This knowledge empowers the church to fulfill its divine mission, ensuring that the gates of hell do not prevail against it.
