LA-based rock outfit All Good Things have been quiet since the breakthrough success of their 2021 album A Hope In Hell, which featured the global phenomenon For The Glory. After spending years honing their craft musically, the success of that album propelled the band into being an almost household name, setting them up for seemingly limitless possibilities and advancements in their career. But, rather than push themselves into exhaustion, All Good Things took time to pause and reflect once the dust started to settle down. It was a decision that came as a surprise to many, but was also one based on longevity within the band.Over the ensuing couple of years, All Good Things made significant changes in their musical landscape, the most notable of which was going back to being an independent artist. This allowed the band not only greater creative control in the actual content of music they planned as the next chapter in their quest but, more importantly, the ability to write, record and release new material without time restraints or pressures. In June, All Good Things returned with their first new music in over two years with The Venom, which was followed earlier this month by No Regrets. Both singles emphatically declared that All Good Things have lost none of their edge, which can only be a good thing for music in general.HEAVY had the pleasure of catching up with bass player/keyboards/vocalist Liz Hooper and vocalist Dan Murphy to find out more.We discussed new songs The Venom and No Regrets, and the success of their 2021 album A Hope In Hell. The band reflected on their decision to take a break after the album cycle, describing it as a period of less pressure and more relaxed writing. They also discussed their shift to being independent and the focus on creating music that resonates with their core fan base, free from the constraints of record companies and radio. The band emphasized the importance of staying true to their musical direction rather than conforming to industry expectations.Dan and Liz discussed their decision to break away from the traditional album release model and opt for releasing singles at a faster pace. They expressed their excitement about the creative freedom and the ability to connect more organically with their audience. They also discussed their willingness to take risks and explore uncharted territory in their creative evolution for the new album, highlighting their collaborative songwriting process and deliberate effort to infuse the music with fresh energy and unconventional themes plus more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

For The Glory of God! John 11:1-7 NKJV 11 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. 3 Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.” 4 When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. 7 Then after this He said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.” For the Glory of God! Whom God Helps You glorify God in what you go through! Delay is not denial! Don't lose hope! Are you living for the glory of God?
US rock outfit All Good Things are possibly one of the longest overnight success stories ever.Since signing with Better Noise Music in 2019 and releasing their hugely successful album A Hope In Hell - which features the excellent single For The Glory - the band have amassed a number of stadium tours and supports and are finally gaining the global recognition they deserve.Although their tenure started long before that by way of producing music for soundtracks and games, All Good Things have taken this new opportunity with both hands and then some, culminating with the release of their new EP Hold On which comes out on September 23.Hold On is a four track collection of old songs, a cover and an acoustic rendition of the title track and a guest vocal appearance by Flyleaf's Lacey Sturm on the other version, but also holds significance in the timing of the release and its connection with the To Write Love On Her Arms campaign, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self harm and suicide.HEAVY caught up with vocalist Dan Murphy and bass player Liz Hooper on the eve of the release."This is actually a song off our A Hope In Hell Album that came out a year ago," Murphy began. "We've been chasing the right collab for this song for a long time to be honest and it finally came together. We knew the song was gonna be our next single and we've been trying to find the right voice to team up with. We played a festival in Wisconsin a couple of months back and saw Lacey Sturm play and were blown away. We've always liked Flyleaf for her performances and the speech she gave... she's kind of tied in to the things our fans have been saying and feeling about Hold On and the song itself. Her messages seem to work with what we are trying to get out there so we asked if she would be a part of it and long story short, it all worked out and here we are!"The Hold On EP is also being released this month to coincide with Suicide Awareness month in September, with Hooper admitting the timing was not coincidental."We looked at releasing it around September and we were watching what was happening and it came up that it was suicide prevention month," she affirmed. "A Hope In Hell has been out for about a year now so we've had a chance to play Hold On live at over 100 shows with P.O.D, Starset and Sevendust and we kept getting this feedback from all of our fans and specifically the song Hold On really meant alot to them. Everyone's been through crazy stuff over the last couple of years and people were really connecting with that song and saying it helped them get through some crazy things. A lot of people have talked to us about how they have lost family members to suicide which is heartbreaking. It was kind of serendipitous when we were looking at releasing in September and saw that it was suicide prevention month, so we thought it might be smart to collaborate with somebody that works in that world. We've been to tonnes of festivals and played at tonnes over the years and To Write Love On Her Arms is always there. They've always got a booth. They're always reaching out. They really make the connection between metal music and mental health and how so many people use music, but especially metal music, to deal with lifes stresses. We reached out to them and said you guys are amazing, how can we help get your message out there with our music so that's how we connected."In the full interview Dan and Liz run us through each song on the EP and disect it's meaning, how they each relate to the cause, the Destiny's Child cover of Survivor and why they chose it, having Sturm guest on Hold On and what she brought to the track, their success after the release of A Hope In Hell, a homecoming for the two Australian members and more.

Last week's sermon, looking at the end of chapter 14, dealt with letting our conscience guide us on disputable matters. Paul looks at things from a different perspective at the beginning of chapter 15 and emphasizes the importance of putting the needs of the weak over the strong. Paul, who called himself strong, said that he should look past his own desires and seek to live in a way to build others up. All Good Things recently released the awesome album A Hope In Hell after blowing the music world a new eardum with hit singles For The Glory (featuring Hollywood Undead) and The Comeback (featuring Craig Mabbitt from Escape The Fate). The grandiose yet still heavy laden tunes are as cinematic in scope as they are filled with hooks and have struck a chord in a time where hope is on the decline. After establishing themselves with featured music on video games, movies, and commercials, All Good Things attracted the attention of industry insiders and a growing legion of fans and decided to pool their combined writing talents into an album of their own material. The result is A Hope In Hell, which has already seen the band invited to support heavyweights P.O.D on a massive tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Satellite.Vocalist Dan Murphy joined HEAVY to chat about the album and compiling a collection of songs for release rather than a submission for publication."We never actually wrote song for a specific show or commercial or tv thing,” he said. “It was always writing collections of music and submitting those, and people would sift through and pick from our music so it wasn't ever custom music. Really, the process hasn't changed. We've always self-produced and self-recorded in our studio in LA and that didn't change with this new record. We hung around the studio every day there for a couple of years working on this record and self-produced and self-recorded - which is nice. You can call it quits when you want to and always go back and add bells and whistles and throw the kitchen sink at songs and keep adding harmonies and change a chorus if you really want to. We can take our time with the record and I think that's why we're so happy with it."In the full interview, Dan talks more about A Hope In Hell, the cinematic nature of their music and how much time and thought goes into it, featuring on the soundtrack and in the movie, The Retaliators, their sound and how it evolved, the current tour with P.O.D, looking after yourself on the road and more.

A studio project created by three musicians who just wanted to write cool rock music for syncs. Syncs mean for video games, movies, TV, Sports or other types of entertainment. After a few years of toiling away in the studio they turned themselves into a real life rock and roll band. With a new album on the way this fall, a tour with P.O.D. happening this summer and a now top ten rock single with the song "For The Glory." All Good Things are poised to truly be the next big thing. So let's find out who the hell they are.

“We didn't plan on being a band of any sort.” Quite the statement from frontman Dan Murphy from rock band All Good Things. Sometimes the best outcomes can and will manifest from things unplanned – As is the case with this Los Angeles based quintet. Dan joins IUF today to talk about all good things, and All Good Things. The goal was simple - to just write music for movies, TV, and video games. That certain goal was beyond reached with having their music featured on many highly popular revered mediums such as Mortal Kombat, The Super Bowl, Shark Tank, Criminal Minds, Vampire Diaries, and a brand new upcoming movie titled Retaliators. The demand from their dedicated growing fanbase got so high that they became an official band. C'mon, wouldn't you? But now, the sky's the limit at this point. Dan also talks about their new and exciting signing for the band with a prominent label like Better Noise Music and collaborating with the likes of Hollywood Undead on their latest single titled “For The Glory.” With times like today, unapologetic victory songs are what the world needs and it only seems fitting that All Good Things provide that soundtrack as we near the light at the end of the tunnel. So many things to look forward to with this band as they continue on this journey. Let All Good Things pave the way for the anthemic positive headbangers down the road and tune into our conversation with Dan Murphy as we also ask him about his favorite video games and movies, which also gave him the influences he needed to write the music he does with his bandmates. Do not miss the newest single “For The Glory” and be sure to stay on the lookout for a new full-length album from All Good Things coming very soon.Stay connected with All Good Things, visit: https://allgoodthings.la/, https://www.facebook.com/allgoodthingsrock/, and https://www.instagram.com/allgoodthingsrock/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/
After the phenomenal independent success of their song “For The Glory” – which amassed over 100 million hits – LA-based rock outfit All Good Things suddenly found the labels knocking, realizing the obvious drawing power of such a talented group of musicians. The decision was made to sign with Better Noise Records who brought fellow anthemic rockers the Hollywood Undead members Johnny 3 Tears and Charlie Scene to the table and the two powerhouses joined forced to re-release the song to yet another rousing reception. The band joined HEAVY last week for a chat about their meteoric rise and what the future holds, starting with why the band decided to re-release a song that had already made an impact around the world."We have operated as an independent band for the last few years," guitarist Andrew Bojanic explained, "and after releasing our album Machines we got lucky and used on a bunch of film and TV around the world and then slowly fans started picking it up and making videos online and sharing the song. We were looking one day and it was like oh shit, there's 100 million views on all these videos (laughs). We wanted to get the band out touring and get exposed a little more so we ended up signing a deal with the guys at Better Noise Records and we'd never gone through radio or promoted "For The Glory", it just seemed to become an anthem for people so the labels thought all these people love this song, we should give it a big go and try and take it out to the rest of the world. They connected us with the Hollywood Undead guys and we all loved what those guys have done for years. We often found that a lot of their fan base actually seems to find us I guess because we both do anthemic rock. They decided to re-release "For The Glory" and get the guys in there, we tweaked the tracks a bit so here we are..."Straight after this Andrew was joined by vocalist Dan Murphy and bass player Liz Hooper, with the three of them completing the chat which includes plans for a full album, having “For The Glory” included on the soundtrack to new movie The Retaliators, how All Good Things managed to crack the market and more.
