After paying dues for over a decade, THE FIFTH are putting the pedal down in an all-out push for higher ground with their debut full-length album from RFK Media “WE ARE ONE,” releasing May 2nd, 2025, on CD and all digital platforms worldwide. This potent collection contains twelve songs that clearly celebrate the band's strengths – strong anthems with blistering guitars and powerful vocals – while weaving classic rock roots with strands of modern melodic hard rock. Fronted by veteran frontman and former MCA recording artist Roy Cathey (Cold Sweat), affectionately known as “The Mouth of The South,” THE FIFTH also includes young guitar hero Justin Womble, bassist Jake Tripp (Gunshine), and drummer Gary “Zeus” Smith. The new album was produced by Chris McLernon (Saigon Kick, Cold Sweat); primary recording took place at Big Animal Studio (home of Shinedown) in Charleston, SC. After bearing witness to this relentless drive & perseverance and loving what they'd heard and seen, Ron Keel's team at RKF Media put a bullseye on THE FIFTH and was determined to make them the first act signed to the new multi-media company. “Their energy is infectious,” Keel explains, “and this is exactly the kind of band we can devote our resources to.Take a shot of THE FIFTH online at http://rfkmedia.com/thefifth and join the legion of fans that are truly “the fifth” member of this incredible band.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Return To Dust embodies the sound of shedding the weight of the past while embracing the promise of tomorrow. The Los Angeles-based quartet—Matty Bielawski [guitar, vocals], Graham Stanush [bass, vocals], Sebastian Gonzalez [guitar], and London Hudson [drums]— brings a fresh perspective to alternative rock. Their music fuses powerful harmonies, fuzz-laden riffs, and seismic grooves, fueled by the raw energy of four Gen Z friends jamming in a garage. What may seem like a traditional approach on paper feels like an act of rebellion today, rippling towards a real turn of the tide. As the story goes, the band settled in Los Angeles to record with producer Jim Kaufman [Everclear, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet]. 2024 saw them unveil their independent self-titled full-length debut, Return To Dust, featuring single “Belly Up” which surged online, organically gathering over 2 million Spotify streams. Distorted Sound hailed it as “a grungy, punky thrill ride,” while Revolver applauded the group's “Alice In Chains-inspired form of modern-day grunge.” In the aftermath, they lit up the stages at major festivals like Inkarceration, Welcome To Rockville, and Sonic Temple, while also joining rock legends Chevelle and Sevendust as support on their respective tours. Signing to LAVA Records/Republic Records with more music on the horizon, the group is poised to stand at the forefront of the next generation of rock music.

Myles Kennedy Interview | The Brett Allan Show | The Art of Letting Go Alterbridge and Slash As a prolific songwriter, powerhouse vocalist, and skilled guitar player, Myles Kennedy tunes into the rhythm of his surroundings and goes with the flow. Fronting Alter Bridge, his soaring vocals, open-hearted lyrics, and airtight riffs have fueled the group's global impact as a critically acclaimed, arena-filling force of nature over two decades-plus. On the microphone for Slash and The Conspirators, his towering range and magnetic stage presence has consistently stunned audiences since 2010. Becoming a celebrated collaborator, he's the rare presence just as comfortable on a track with Disturbed, Halestorm, and Sevendust as he is with Gov't Mule and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. It's why he's generated over 1 billion cumulative streams, earned gold and platinum certifications worldwide, uplifted countless fans, and KERRANG! christened him “one of rock's finest vocalists.” It's also why he's carved out his own lane. With two solo efforts under his belt and sold-out headline tours in the rearview, a sense of keenly honed intuition guides his third full-length LP, The Art of Letting Go [Napalm Records]. “I've been going through a massive Bruce Lee kick, no pun intended,” he smiles. “His quote, ‘Be water, my friend', always stuck with me. On a grander scale, it represents the record. It's an exercise in removing prior restrictions and shattering the parameters I set up for myself as a solo artist. This is a rock record. In the past, I thought rock might be a little too close to the other projects. Instead, I just let go and embraced my essence as a singer, guitar player, and writer. This is who I am. This is my DNA. Instead of being apologetic and shying away from it, I'm letting go and being myself.” Connect with us on our website for more amazing conversations! www.brettallanshow.com Have you got some feedback? Is Nü Metal the most divisive music subgenre of the 1990s? It sure seems to generate a lot of hate, but is also beloved by millions of fans. Eschewing the traditions of classic NWOBHM bands (guitar solos, leather, fist-pumping athems), Nü Metal rose from the same underground that embraced both hip-hop and mosh pits, with its own style (baggy pants, tracksuits, baseball caps) more reminiscent of Run D.M.C. than Judas Priest. In the same way that punk was a response to the bloated stylings of 70s corporate and progressive rock, Nü Metal stripped away the overindulgence of previous metal incarnations and focused on rhythm and catharsis. Bands like Korn, Papa Roach, and Linkin Park wrote about the dark underbelly of suburban home life, with varying musical approaches, while others like Slipknot, Mudvayne, and Static-X added a layer of theatrical presentation in their looks. We revisit not just the Nü Metal period, but also what came before it, bands like Anthrax and Public Enemy teaming up, the alternative approaches of Primus, Faith No More, and Rage Against The Machine, and explore the looks, the sounds and legacy of Nü Metal. Send us a Text Message.Scotty Austin isn't your ordinary or average run-of-the-mill rock star. With a remarkable track record playing across the United States, as well as being a multi-instrumentalist in numerous genres, it is clear he has a unique perspective when it comes to creating music. Hailing from Parsons, Tennessee, his interest in various instruments started at a young age when he began reading music in kindergarten while also gaining experience in the family band at church. By the late 90s, Scotty began expanding on his knowledge of music genres and branching out to multiple styles such as percussion and classical guitar performance before earning his spot as the band leader of the official NASCAR Rolling Thunder band for an entire season. His accomplishments continued when around the early 2000s, he won fourth place in the world during the International Blues Contest while representing Memphis, Tennessee. Shortly after, Scotty collaborated with a new original group and recording artist, Ash Bowers, along with Jason Aldean's label, Broken Bow Records, as well as the sister label, Stoney Creek Records. It wasn't long until Scotty decided to start his own original project, an indie rock band called Trash the Brand. He had wanted to record and play songs that he had written but never had the chance to play. Within weeks of forming, he was playing to packed houses and venues which in turn caught the attention of a few people in the music industry. Soon Scotty found himself in contact with Jeff Hanson (manager of Creed and Saving Abel), who offered to manage him. While negotiating, he asked Hanson to put him on the show with Saving Abel that was happening that weekend in Memphis. He was given the opening spot for the concert. A few days after the show, Scotty was asked to front Saving Abel in which he accepted and has since been with for over 8 years.
