In this message from Matthew 15:29–16:4, Pastor Karl examines two very different groups of people who come to Jesus — and what their approach reveals about how we receive grace. The first group comes from the Decapolis, a Gentile region with no religious standing or covenant claim. They bring broken bodies, unspoken needs, and nothing to offer — and Jesus meets them with compassion, healing, and even provision they didn't know to ask for. The second group, the Pharisees and Sadducees, arrives with suspicion and a demand for proof — and Jesus refuses to perform for them. The contrast surfaces a powerful truth: Jesus has endless compassion for those who come to him needy, but no obligation to satisfy those who come feeling entitled. Unworthiness isn't a disqualification for grace — it's the prerequisite for it.Pastor Karl unpacks why the disciples hesitated to feed the 4,000 (it wasn't that they forgot what Jesus could do — it was that they questioned who he'd do it for), what it really means to "fall from grace," and why the cross is the only reliable lens through which to interpret God's love. When we bring our "not enough" to Jesus, we find that inadequacy is exactly the raw material he's looking for.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

In Matthew 15, Pastor Karl walks through two encounters that reveal how Jesus responds to very different kinds of people. The first is a confrontation with the Pharisees — religious leaders who had mastered looking clean on the outside while leaving their hearts completely untouched. Jesus exposes their hypocrisy and makes clear that the real issue is never what comes in from the outside, but what flows out from within. The second is a striking contrast: a Canaanite woman from Tyre and Sidon who comes to Jesus with nothing to offer — no credentials, no leverage, no religious standing. She simply cries out for mercy. When Jesus seems silent and even dismissive, she doesn't leave offended. She presses in, clings to grace, and receives what the Pharisees never could: a direct word of commendation from Jesus himself — "Great is your faith."God honors a transformed heart and exposes religious hypocrisy. And he blesses according to his grace — not our worthiness. This message is an invitation to stop trying to leverage God and start crying out for his mercy.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

here's a difference between being in the crowd around Jesus… and becoming someone who carries His authority. In Luke 6:17–19, crowds gathered from everywhere to hear Jesus, be healed, and encounter the power flowing from Him. The sick were restored. Demons were driven out. Lives were transformed. But not everyone in the crowd became a disciple. And not every disciple stepped into being sent. This message is about the spiritual progression Jesus invites every believer into:From curiosity
Faith in difficult circumstances is never easy. At the end of John 4, Jesus is approached by a man who needs his son to be healed. The man displays incredible faith in that he trusts the word of Jesus that his son will be healed.

Through Scripture, personal testimony, and the story of the road to Emmaus, this message shows how honesty, truth, and the presence of Jesus can begin to heal what pain, disappointment, and unmet expectations have wounded. Here in the Gospel of Mark, this lessonbegins in chapter 10 verses 45 thru 52After Jesus spoke of Himself as one who came to minister and to give His life a ransom for many, in fact for all, He now ministers once again near Jericho.A blind man by the name of Bartimaeus which means son of Timaeus asked Jesus to give his eye sight back to him. This blind man was initially rebuked by the crowd standing along the way.But Jesus heard him calling out to Him as Jesus, Son of David. This blind man recognized Jesus as the coming Messiah, the Messiah who was born in the city of David as Christ the Lord - the Savior, to save His people. Here is Dr. Mitchell in Mark 10:45-52 with Jesus our savior on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

But unless you repent, you will all perish too. 4 Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think that they were worse sinners than all the people living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no. But unless you repent, you will all perish too.” Parable of the Fig Tree 6 He told them this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. He came looking for fruit on it, but he did not find any. 7 So he said to the gardener, ‘Look, for three years now I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and I have found none. Cut it down. But if not, then cut it down.'” Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman 10 Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And a woman was there who had a spirit that had disabled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not stand up straight. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” 13 He placed his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and began to glorify God. 14 But the ruler of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. He said to the crowd in response, “There are six days to do work. So come to be healed on those days and not on the Sabbath day!” 15 The Lord answered him, “Hypocrites! Doesn't each of you untie his ox or his donkey from the manger on the Sabbath and lead it to water? 16 Here is this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for eighteen years! Shouldn't she be set free from this bondage on the Sabbath day?” 17 As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame. But the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things he was doing. #top .hr.hr-invisible.av-aocsdx-89cb4ca21532423cf697fc393b6fcee0{ height:10px; } The Holy Bible, Evangelical Heritage Version®, EHV®, © 2019 Wartburg Project, Inc. Proverbs 26:2 weaves into the discussion, highlighting that curses have causes—reasons that believers can tackle rather than accept as fate. [10:17] Marjorie: “There's a designer and there is a predictable pattern… So when you see that, you know there's an intelligent, something, entity, behind these calamities, behind these troubles.” [10:55] Fear, Witchcraft, and the Enemy's foothold Marjorie connects fear and witchcraft as drivers of ancestral agreements, often made subconsciously for blessings, giving Satan legal ground Reagan shared an example through infertility which illustrates how agreeing with lies—like “something's wrong with me”—keeps these curses alive through generations. Ancient potions laced with demonic spells evolve into modern traps like psychics and pharmaceuticals, each offering false solutions with hidden costs. [15:52] Marjorie: “God votes for us all the time, and Satan votes against us all the time, and we decide who we're going to believe and who we're going to go with.” [26:50] Tracing Patterns to Break the Chains Marjorie links physical issues like endometriosis to ancestral bloodshed, urging forgiveness of past generations to break curses She shares a story of a man crippled by a false diagnosis of early death, showing how agreements shape life outcomes. Rejecting labels like “bipolar” shifts the battle from medication to spiritual authority, exposing them as demonic footholds rather than destiny. Depression surfaces as a spirit of exhaustion, born from unresolved conflicts, conquerable not with pills but with the liberating truth of God's Word. [35:16] Marjorie: “The devil makes it look like God's mad at you, because you think I've got to be good to get to heaven.” [39:35] Standing Before Heaven's Court Marjorie offers a prayer process: forgive ancestors, stand as a bloodline representative, and ask God to judge demonic crimes. She specifies removing judgments like back pain or divorce, citing a case of a man's back injury tied to childhood abuse. Reagan recounts a car crash she survived, declaring defiance against the enemy's attack on her podcast mission. Marjorie suggests such events echo ancestral patterns, encouraging listeners to seek the original lie with Jesus' help. [50:24] Confronting Territorial Spirits Territorial spirits rise from biblical shadows, like the Prince of Persia, ruling over lands and lives with ancient authority. Binding them with names from birth certificates cuts their power, a practical step to reclaim dominion over personal kingdoms. [1:02:05] Unraveling Family Mysteries Reagan shares a listener's story of siblings hearing voices, with Marjorie tracing it to the mother's side and sexual assault roots. She explains schizophrenia as demonic voices from identity confusion, treatable by commanding them out, not medicating. Marjorie stresses personal agreement is ideal for healing, likening it to driving one's own life bus, not letting demons steer. Patterns like firstborn attacks urge a direct confrontation, exposing the enemy's tactics through interrogation and faith [1:17:44] Healing Kids and Building Community Marjorie advises asking Jesus to reveal kids' lies (e.g., fear from in utero trauma), clearing them as their representative. She shares a hyperactive child's healing from incubator trauma, proving the method's efficacy when specific. Enjoyed this Episode? If you did, subscribe and share it with your friends! 1. Early in her sermon, Mandy talked about a natural phenomena in which ants can get stuck following one another's trails and end up walking unceasingly in continuous loops; they get stalled out as the blind following the blind and the death spiral ends only with their deaths. What examples exist in your own life in which you have followed someone that you believed to be leading you down a clear path, only to discover you were in a kind of endless-circular march of your own? How were you able to exit the spiral? Was there a type of death that was needed as a part of that process? Whether they were minor or major parts of you life, share about what these experiences were like - as you marched, as you realized that you were in a type of spiral, and what it was like to break out of the ongoing march, experiencing whatever deaths you may have had to encounter. 2. Mandy pointed out that, in the story from John 9, shortly after the blind man receives his sight, the religious leaders try to use him for their advantage & eventually declare him “steeped in sin from his birth.” She pointed out that the blind man becoming sighted had the potential to allow for his upward social movement; by assigning him the blame for his original blindness, the religious could reassign him back into a lower place in the social order. Additionally, even before the miracle, Jesus' disciples ask questions trying to understand where to assign blame for the man's blindness. “Good religious folks,” Mandy said, “have a hard time handling” the idea of a world where anyone could suffer and experience tragedy at any time for no discernible reason.Take a moment to thoughtfully sit with the natural discomfort of a world where you or someone you love could experience painful realities for no apparent reason and at any moment. Maybe examples of that very truth are coming to your mind. Consider the parts of yourself which might also long to assign blame or use other strategies to alleviate this discomfort. What surfaces for you as you sit with the tension? How difficult is it to just sit with that reality? What resistance arises? How strong is the impulse to assign blame or the illusion of predictability to these types of circumstances? Where might elements of these responses show up in your every day life? Particularly in the face of public or private pain?3. As she closed her sermon, Mandy said, “one of the most dangerous things we can do is delude ourselves into thinking we're fully sighted.” She also quoted Oliver Sacks, saying, “One must die as a blind person to be born again as a seeing person. It's the interim, the limbo, that is so terrible.” Take some time to absorb and ponder each of these statements. What wisdom can you find amidst these ideas that might offer something valuable for you at this moment in your life? How inclined are you to think of yourself as “fully sighted?” Are there areas or circumstances in which that tendency is more or less pronounced? How hard is it to come up with specific places in which you are aware of your lack of “full sight?” Do you see any patterns or commonalities in those areas? What insight might be available for you as you reflect on how well you navigate a world that encourages us to ignore the very idea of our blindness, yet, if we're looking, has so much potential to reveal it?

John 4:43-54
What do you do with the brokenness you carry? Many of us try to cover it up, manage it, or pretend it isn't there. But in Luke 5, Jesus encounters two men whose lives were marked by deep need and suffering. One was covered in leprosy and rejected by society. The other was paralyzed and dependent on the faith of his friends. In both stories, Jesus reveals something powerful. He doesn't just address surface problems. He moves toward broken people, cleanses what is unclean, and heals what is deepest in the human heart. Jesus came to deal with our deepest problem, sin, and to restore what is broken inside of us. The invitation is the same today. Whatever you carry, Jesus is willing to meet you there and make you whole.• Every person carries brokenness that needs healing and cleansing• Jesus has authority to heal both physical struggles and the deeper problem of sin• Followers of Jesus are called to help bring others closer to the true HealerKey Scriptures:Luke 5:12–26Isaiah 53:52 Corinthians 1:3–4John 5:6Jesus moves toward broken people with compassion and power. Bring whatever you're carrying to Him today. Ask where you need healing, trust Him with what's broken, and allow Him to begin restoring your heart. Kids learn that God is good through the powerful story of Jesus healing a man who could not walk. When four faithful friends bring the man to Jesus, he not only heals the man's body but also forgives his sins—showing that Jesus has the power to heal both hearts and lives.
