POPULARITY
On this episode, Pastor Lisa Toney opens up about how a heartbreak at 17 years old was a catalyst for her lifelong pursuit of Jesus and pastoral ministry. Listen in to hear about the events that led to her meeting her husband and the ministries she's involved with today.
Author, Ministry Leader, and Faith Habits Coach Lisa Toney discusses focusing on scripture and how it seals its way into our heads and hearts. The Holy Spirit can bring it to us right when we need it! Lisa and I talk about having patience and diffusing situations with those who are angry around us. Understanding our anger and where our angry feelings come from fosters the ability to live in peace and develop lasting relationships. Lisa explains when we see someone angry, this secondary emotion is just the tip of the iceberg and how to help them when they are angry. She shares her story of grief and how Jesus promises us that “He will turn our mourning into joy. Joy comes in the morning.” We have an opportunity to look toward this promise so that we can THRIVE. We talk about slowing down and the elimination of hurry to facilitate our meaningful relationships. We discuss how to STOP some bad habits in order to make room for the habits you want to START. If we want to get something different than what we have ever had in our lives, we have to do something different than we have ever done before. Quotes to Remember: Creating habits to strengthen our faith is imperative! - Lisa Toney Memorization freaks everyone out. I get it! - Lisa Toney No grumpy Christians allowed. - Lisa Toney Persevere in Jesus! Persevere in Faith! - Lisa Toney We can't just keep adding new habits to our lives without removing some old ones. If we want to get something different than we have ever had in our lives, we have to do something different than we have ever done before. - Alita Reynolds We live in such a fast pace world, and we need to just slow down. - Alita Reynolds We want to be JOY filled, overflowing with HOPE. - Alita Reynolds I'm wildly cheering you on,

There are 10 secrets that you need to know if you want your tween girl to show more gratitude in life! These 10 secrets that Lisa Toney brings you from GirlTribe Nation on The Raising Amazing Tween Girls show and podcast will bring some fresh ideas into your mom world to help you!It is the season of Thanksgiving. We are quickly approaching Thanksgiving, a whole day set aside for being thankful. I love this time of year, but I also really, really love the idea of living a life, not just a day, filled with gratitude.Gratitude takes practice. It is something that you need to commit to for the long haul. Gratitude is definitely a marathon mindset, not a sprint. It is something we focus on this month, but if we focus on it all year long, there is much to be gained. There are some big wins when we are able to cultivate an attitude of gratitude that is cemented into our being. It makes for kinder tweens, more patient parents, and homes that are filled with more joy. When we show gratitude to someone for something, it connects us to them. We form a bond. Our hearts are grateful and our endorphins are released because they brought us happiness. When we are socially connected to others, we feel supported, we feel known, and we feel cared for. That is the stuff of happiness friends. Oh I know your tween things that a new phone will bring her happiness - but the phone is not really what makes her happy. It is the connectedness with people that she thinks the phone will bring. Studies show that kids that connect without others without a phone are actually happier than kids who connect with people with their phones. https://time.com/5437607/smartphones-teens-mental-health/ Wow, can you believe it? We did it! We covered 10 Secrets to build an attitude of gratitude in your tween! Now don’t worry if you are like, wait, what were those again? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I’ve created your very own cheatsheet of our top 10 Ten Secrets For Building An Attitude of Gratitude In Your Tween. You have easy access to it by going to GirlTribeNation.com/gratitude. Also included is a fun Mother-Daughter date for building gratitude. You’ll want to for sure check it out.

Did you know that the Raising Amazing Girls show is both a podcast and a YouTube show? Why yes it is, so you can listen or watch, whichever you prefer. We are trying to get up to 100 subscribers so that we can name our channel.I’m Lisa Toney with GirlTribe Nation and I am so very glad you are joining me today. Girltribe Nation is committed to raising a generation of tween girls to be smart, healthy, brave, and live with a whole lot more happy in their lives. Girltribe Nation is a movement of Mamas who are raising tween girls who are looking to raise young women who are full of character, responsibility, self-control, and a firm identity. Our culture is warring for the heart and mind of your daughter and we moms need to be on guard and help our girls. As tweens they are looking for guidance and role models for who they want to be like as they grow up into being young women. We have an amazing opportunity, responsibility, and privilege to help them during these years. Picking your Fierce Five is a process that is something that you can do together, and that is why it is so pivotal to do in the tween years, because you still have your daughter’s ear. What you say and do is still really important and meaningful to her!So what exactly is the Fierce Five? Let’s get into it.Your Fierce Five is the circle of adult female mentors that you are going to intentionally surround your daughter with and help her to engage with. This circle of her Fierce Five are those women that you know and trust to give her wise counsel and share your values. These women are going to give her an amazing opportunity to feel invested in, loved on, and like she has some adult friends. Five women, instead of one that can pour into your girl. This is why this is so helpful to you and your daughter. If you plan for her fierce five to take her out twice a year that is ten dates. If you plan for one a month, that is ten months of the year. Maybe you want to take December off and maybe you want to take one summer month of where you are on vacation. That leaves you the bulk of the year where your daughter gets to go out with five different women and spend an hour chatting about life. This is a much easier ask of your friends as well.I am putting up the exact email example that I used for inviting my Fierce Five at GirlTribeNation.com/FierceFive that you can access for free. I'd love for you to access it so that you have a great jump start on inviting your Fierce Five for your daughter. We here at Girltribe Nation are all about resourcing the moms of tween girls to grow a generation of young ladies to be smart, healthy, brave, and live with a whole lot more happy in their lives. Let’s come together to raise a generation of tween girls to be world changers! Check us out here!

In Part 1, we told you about the horrific bombing murder of Marcus Toney. Before he was murdered, Marcus had recently been the victim of identity theft, to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. And he, his attorney, and the private investigator he’d hired to look into the theft, suspected his estranged wife Lisa and her mysterious new boyfriend, whose name Marcus didn’t know. We know, though, don’t we campers? It’s Sienky Lallemand, a career con man and identity thief who seems to have romanced Lisa Toney into feeding him her husband’s personal information and using it to buy designer jewelry and luxury cars. It didn’t seem like a coincidence that Marcus ended up murdered right as he was starting to figure out who was responsible for ruining his credit and throwing him into six figures worth of fraudulent debt. Investigators were starting to zero in on Lisa and Sienky, and things were about to get real interesting. Join us now for part 2 of this bizarre story.Sources:"Seduced" by Joy Bergmann. "Don't burn bridges. Be graceful in all of your converations, especially when people say or do hurtful things." -Lisa Toney, speaker, author & leader On this week's Better Together podcast, we're talking about one of my favorite ways for us to get better together. On today's episode, we're talking leadership! Not only that, but our leadership inspiration is Lisa Toney, an executive and teaching pastor from Purpose Church in California. She's a seasoned leader who loves investing in both men and women, equipping them to lead at the highest levels of God's call on their lives. Lisa is the author of Thrive: Live Like You Matter and her new book, The Scripture Challenge releases this fall. Not only that, but Lisa is a new voice in the next generation of Women of Faith. Any Women of Faith fans out there? Me! For over 20 years, WOF events around the country mobilized hundreds of thousands of women and now, a generation of voices, including Lisa's are on deck to make a global impact. Lisa tells us all about WOF's vision to reach the world and how YOU can be a part of it. In my humble opinion, today's conversation is like a min-leadership retreat that packs a big punch! Who should listen to today's podcast: If you've been struggling with confidence; If you're trying to figure out how to be a leader, wife, mom and friend; If you're just tired and wanting to give up. Friends, if any of those fit, then I believe that today's podcast is exactly where you should be right now! Let me share a few bits of Lisa's inspiring wisdom: "This competeition thing that we have between women doesn't get us very far. When I get together with other women and we exchange ideas, all of our lives get so much better!" "When I think about work life balance, I just laugh. Is it ever balanced? I don't know. I love living every day to the full." "I want people to see Jesus in me because that's evidence that I'm living the call that God has placed on my life."
