This week Sarah & Irma talk to Rich Harper who has created Victory Softball, a safe and encouraging softball team for girls with special needs between the ages of 6-16 who might never have the opportunity before to get out on the field. The retired Baldwin Park Police officer is also a father, business-owner and has coached for Glendora for more than 20 years. Listen to Rich explain how he came up with the idea and how his passion for kids, the game and the community is leading him on this journey with a purpose. Through the Glendora Lassie League, Victory Softball will show girls the basics and get them playing during the regular season with other Lassie teams. A chance to understand the game, get out on the field, smell the grass and feel the sun on their happy faces. Each Victory Player will be mentored with a Victory Sister, an established 12, 13, 14 yr old player who will mentor these girls on and off the field. However - VICTORY SOFTBALL needs your help. The goal is for these Victory Girls (and families) to have zero out of pocket expenses. They want to make sure there are no (more) barriers to stop a girl from playing softball.
