When the English government fails to meet the radio needs of its people a group of “pirates” are ready to make their own. Broadcasting from boats, trees, or hidden studios, pirate radio stations would evade the authorities for decades as the inspectors sought to “bring the villains to justice.” Join Karbo and Ross as they tell the story of the DJ outlaws whose rebellion changed English radio forever. Join the discussion, its always great to hear from you, #ColourOutTheBox . Returning guest co-host @StavrosBoss of the ESN Podcast (Eloquently Saying Nothing)In this digital age its so easy to throw a text out to friends and family to checkin but not really understand how they are feeling. How many times have you answered “I’m Fine” when feeling overwhelmed and tired? What things do you keep from others? Do you consider yourself an extrovert or introvert? On this special “mini-sode” Mo and Stavros ask these questions to get to know each and push beyond the surface. All inspired by trying to improve our mental health awareness and consideration of others. The conversation is at times funny, frustrating and awkward. Unity Community of Central Oregon | Sunday's Celebration Service on March 24, 2019 The Healing Journey - Merging Science & Spirit with Dr. Ruth Miller. When Ruth Miller found herself flat on her back with no clear diagnosis and a scary prognosis, the medical world didn't have answers, so she went inside. She was led to books and people and buildings that encouraged clearing her thoughts and emotions in order to heal the body. To her amazement, her symptoms began to ease and, over the months and years that followed, she resumed an even more active schedule than before.. With several degrees in the sciences she felt the need to verify her experience in the theories and experimental results of researchers she respected. Today she shares some of what worked for her - and some of the scientific and spiritual literature that explains and supports them. Dr. Ruth Miller is a systems scientist, futurist and New Thought minister. She is the author of a dozen books and she has translated the teachings of 7 New Thought classic authors into language more easily understood by the modern reader. The Science of Mental Healing, a biography of New Thought teachers and healers, is just one of her books. Her books focus on the relationship between mind and body, culture and consciousness, today's world and tomorrow's possibilities. ******************************************************** Unity's website: http://www.unitycentraloregon.com Located in Bend, Oregon, we are a growing spiritual community of like-minded yet eclectic and unique individuals that come together in love, joy and spiritual growth. The smell of old books. The crinkle of the yellowing pages. While admiring the wonders of libraries, have you ever wondered how paper ages and why some sheets last longer than others? Paper conservation scientists have. Stereo Chemistry caught up with a slew of these researchers after hearing about a special collection of books at the U.S. Library of Congress. The more than 1,000 volumes in this collection have essentially donated their bodies to science. We embarked on a time-travel journey to learn more about this collection and the self-trained chemist, a polarizing figure, who donated it and who helped bring about modern-day paper preservation testing.
