Rev. Ruth Miller explores the possibility that our life, today, is in a different kind of womb--and we are about to be born.
The entire recruiting landscape is undergoing a profound transformation as organizations grapple with the implications of AI and the economic disruption 2025 is bringing. Talent acquisition teams are drowning in applications while simultaneously being asked to do more with fewer resources. Candidates find themselves in increasingly dehumanized processes where ghosting is now the norm. At the same time, regulatory bodies are developing laws to ensure fairness and transparency around the use of AI in hiring. So, how can employers navigate this challenging terrain while creating fair, accessible, and effective hiring processes? My guest this week is Ruth Miller, a talent acquisition and HR consultant who works across the public and private sectors. Ruth is an advisor to the Better Hiring Institute, working with the UK Government on developing legislation around AI in recruiting. In our conversation, she shares her insights into how organizations can proactively develop strategies that balance innovation with compliance while enhancing rather than diminishing the human elements of hiring. - Different perceptions and reactions to AI among employers across sectors - The paradox of AI both introducing and potentially removing bias from hiring processes - Neurodivergent candidates and AI in job applications - Common misconceptions job seekers have about employers' AI usage. - Strategic advice for organizations implementing AI in recruitment - The future of recruitment and the evolving balance between AI and human interaction Follow this podcast on Apple Podcasts. This week's guests are Chris Wellbelove (recently appointed managing director) and Steve Buckingham, CEO of Blakedown Landscapes.Blakedown just won the contract for the Queen Elizabeth garden scheme for The Royal Parks as part of their landscape construction framework. Chris outlines work being done using "environmentally sensitive construction methods" and Steve discusses some of the highlights of their work with The Royal Parks which goes back some 35 years, including the Greenwich Park Revealed scheme which won them a National BALI Award. The Outdolf Landscape project at RHS Garden Wisley won the firm another BALI Award that year and Chris talks about the pleasure of a free-flowing collaboration made possible by working with the hands-on and knowledgeable Wisley team. The pair also discuss some of the challenges faced in the landscape sector, including increased and unpredictable lead-in times for materials and plants.Chris says: "By the time we get to see it it's got a specification it's got planning permission based on a certain set of materials so for us to have much input is difficult", adding "where we are involved at earlier points we do have these discussions about 'where are you purchasing from, is it ethical, is it sustainable, is there a UK alternative?'. On plans for growth, Chris talks about how contractor design work is now part of every contract they undertake, so the firm took on Ruth Miller as a design manager to manage those design elements efficiently without disrupting the progress of the project. Andy Harris also joined as an operations manager to bolster the management team. Steve adds they are aiming for "organic growth" while looking expand activities outside their traditional territories in the South of England. Nigel Payne has also come on board to help develop Blakedown's grounds maintenance offering.Among the varied and numerous challenges thrown up in 2024, Steve says the "continually wet period" from autumn 2023 to spring 2024 was one of the hardest. And a new challenge faced by all landscape contractors is in the planning department. On the one hand, a change in pre-commencement conditions means Blakedown is being involved in signing those off after starting the contract causing delays of several weeks to commencement of works. This is exacerbated by a lack of and high turnover of overstretched planning officers, all adding to delays. "[A project] we were due to start last September, we are only getting on board now [early March]... it has a real effect on your sales forecast and your planning."Another area of growth is public realm and infrastructure improvements set in motion by the last Government's 'Levelling Up" agenda and Blakedown is embarking on a major project in to transform Canterbury's open spaces including a 'green link' to provide a safe way for pedestrians to walk around the city. Chris is inspired by how it is finding ways to "improve accessiblity but not a the cost of nature"."For the next five years it is about organic growth...We're not looking to grow hugely; we want to do what we do really well, and keep doing that." Alan Davis and Ruth Miller are passionate birders. In 2008 they gave up their jobs and sold everything to embark on an epic year-long quest to see and hear as many bird species as possible. After many adventures, on a journey taking them around the world, their final total was an amazing 4341 species, achieving a world record for the most species seen in one year. They wrote about their adventures in their book The Biggest Twitch. They now run a bird-watching tour company providing guided tours (with cake) in their home country of Wales and worldwide. Ruth and Alan talk about sharing their love of birds with others, and how each would spend a fantasy birding day. There is a sacred knowing deep within us that always supports and guides us. When we learn, know, and understand this principle, then we can name, claim, and declare our good and the good of all in all our words and actions. Rev. Ruth Miller reminds us that Love, Peace, Beauty, Comfort, and Well-being for all is what we're called to experience and express, and invites us to follow the call into it.
We live in a time and place that encourages us to forget who we truly are. Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller offers us some guidelines for remembering. Then, as we begin to have clarity around who we are and the spaces we want to live from, we can begin to create spaces and opportunities for others to do the same.
We wake up each morning to infinite possibility: unlimited, overflowing Good that waits only for our acceptance of it. Are we willing to embrace that potential? Dare we choose Heaven on Earth? Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller helps us understand the physics and metaphysics behind this Truth, so our brains can accept Reality and allow us to choose our new Now, our Heaven-on-Earth, every day.
As we, and all humanity, rise in consciousness to be more fully Who we truly Are, old things fall apart to make room for the new; shells break open; and comfortable habits no longer work. Join Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller as she explores the experience of this transformation process we have chosen to be part of – how we can transcend the apparent discomfort of the moment and surf the tidal wave of Love.
Our desires are actually our yearning to experience the qualities of God in our lives. We inherently know that, deep within us, is pure wholeness, and we want to feel that. Indeed, all religions and all spiritual traditions have been established to provide that. And yet, we still yearn; we still struggle to find that experience. Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller offers us some insights and actions that can help us embrace this truth of our being.
In this month's exploration of the Sacred, Profane, and Mundane, we're offered the opportunity to practice the living Presence of Spirit, everywhere. Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller invites us to turn off our left-brain evaluations long enough to experience the One Mind in all things as we go through our day.
Once we discover what we have faith in, we can begin to see our path of fulfillment, called in Sanskrit, our Dharma. It may not seem clear at first, but there are clues we can follow. Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller shares some of those clues and invites us to take a few steps as we seek to discover the True Path that is unique to each of us.
Kyle Flanagan asks us how we can truly address the roots of the climate crisis, and how we can keep each other safe in the years to come—while making sure that no one gets left behind. She wrote Climate Resilience, robust with short essays edited from interviews with 39 individuals who have been cultivating resilience for decades. There is a chapter dedicated to ecological restoration and issues related to river restoration, shifting the framing of environmental injustices, soil health, community composting and good fire. Intersecting with restoration, Kylie and the cohort of climate imaginaries foreground skills required in a warming world - relationship repair, participatory & decentralized economics, collective care, community adaptation, cultural strategy and people power. “Faith is the Confidence to Command” says Emma Curtis Hopkins, teacher of Ernest Holmes and a hundred other New Thought leaders. “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed you would command…” is one of the teachings of the New Testament. And what is speaking Truth in the face of undesirable circumstances, but commanding that Truth to appear as our experience? Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller helps us see and know how the power of the One Mind spoken through us as Truth can dispel any semblance of distress.
Most of us were raised to believe in a particular person or idea. We were taught to say, “I believe in Jesus,” or “I believe in Science,” or “I believe there is no god,” or whatever our family, teachers, and elders told us was true. But our lives haven't always demonstrated what we were taught to say. Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller draws on the Science of Mind teachers to explore why that is so and how we can discover what our real beliefs are–and how to change them.

As we mature, we become aware of more and more layers and dimensions of who we are. And, if we're paying attention, an amazing thing happens: we begin to understand the patterns and the people who have shaped our lives in the past. Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller will share a process for releasing these patterns and the energy around those people–and how the world becomes more peaceful as we go through it.
As we mature, we become aware of more and more layers and dimensions of who we are, and who the people around us have been. We begin to, truly, know ourselves. And, if we're paying attention, an amazing thing happens: we begin to understand, and find a new respect for, the people who have shaped our lives in the past, and are contributing to them now. Rev. Follow award-winning travel writer Aaron Millar on a road trip across East Tennessee's Music Pathways, from the Great Smoky Mountains to Bristol and the birth of country music. Along the way, we will hear traditional Appalachian Music as it would have been performed more than a century ago; find out about the Bristol Sessions, a seminal recording that happened here in 1929 and went on to change the world. We'll get a tour of Dolly Parton's hometown with one of her childhood friends and see the theme park which holds her name. Opening and closing the show is acclaimed songwriter Ed Snodderly with a live performance you won't forget. Harlan Howard famously said: “Country music is three chords and the truth.” We're looking for that truth, where it comes from, why it connects with us and where it's headed today. Produced in a documentary style, the Tennessee Music Pathways series takes listeners on a more than 1,000-mile road trip, from Bristol and the birth of country music to Memphis and the start of rock n' roll. Along the way, listeners will hear bluegrass played fast as lightning and traditional Appalachian music performed live in the Great Smoky Mountains. Follow along as Millar shops in Elvis' favorite clothing store, bangs drums in the studio that made Uptown Funk, learns to play the spoons and drinks whiskey in a distillery housed in a more than 100-year-old former prison. Join us on an audio adventure across seven genres of music home to Tennessee. “This is the story of America, from its roots in traditional fiddle music brought over by immigrants to the New World and enslaved individuals stolen in Africa, to the spark of rock n' roll and soul that started here, united a nation, and spread across the world, Tennessee is the soundtrack to the evolution of America itself.” Aaron Millar, presenter of the Tennessee Music Pathways podcast Thank you to our guests and musicians: Ed Snodderly www.edsnodderlymusic.com Amber Rose www.dollywood.com/ Boogertown Gap www.boogertowngap.com Ruth Miller www.visitsevierville.com Rene Rogers www.birthplaceofcountrymusic.org/ Explore Bristol www.explorebristol.com Listen to historical recordings of the artists and songs we mention in this episode on our specially curated Spotify playlist: Tennessee Music Pathways From the largest cities to the smallest communities, the Tennessee Music Pathways is a guide that connects visitors to the rich musical heritage of our state. Welcome to episode 91 [originally broadcast on Thursday 26 May 2022] of #mhTV. This week Nicky Lambert and David Munday spoke with guest Ruth Miller about diabetes and mental health. RM - Until recently I worked with North West London Diabetes Transformation team as a Diabetes Nurse Consultant and I have now returned to working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in diabetes in a large NHS acute Trust. In 2014 I was working as Clinical Diabetes Lead in a London hospital when I developed the ‘Diabetes 10 Point Training' programme for inpatient staff in response to concerns about patient safety. The aim the programme is to ensure all frontline staff possess a good working knowledge of diabetes so that the safest and highest quality care can be provided by non-specialists. An informed workforce is fundamental to patient safety and good care not only in hospitals but in all parts of the patient pathway across health and social care. It is therefore essential that all health and social care workers have access to diabetes training that is concise and highly relevant to the individuals work setting and role. The central focus is the person living with diabetes. Point 1 states: “Listen to the person, they live with their diabetes 365 days a year” More info can be found here: https://www.cdep.org.uk Some Twitter links to follow are: NL - https://twitter.com/niadla DM - https://twitter.com/davidamunday HV - http://twitter.com/RuthLauraMille1 Credits: Presenter: Nicky Lambert & David Munday Guest: Ruth Miller Theme music: Tony Gillam Production & Editing: David Munday

Ruth Miller had a chaotic family upbringing, she was abused emotionally, and sexually, two close friends were murdered by her boyfriend, and despite this she did well at school and got a place at university. It wasn't until she met her now husband that she began to learn what safety in a relationship could feel like. And through the marriage she created with him, she was finally able to start working with the PTSD she had and begin to build the life she wanted. Giving birth to her daughter was one of the most challenging and empowering moments. A defining moment. And now at 32 years old, what will life bring next. I share friends with Ruth, and we both attended the Burning Woman 2021 Festival, where she really started to connect Mind, Body and Soul as part of her journey. Join me as we journey through a fascinating life with a very strong and resourceful woman. You can find Ruth on Facebook. My passion is Inspiring Women to Inspire Women. Rev. Celeste's guest is Rev. Michael Terranova, publisher and sole owner of Wise Woman Press. Michael is an independent New Thought minister who promotes the teachings of Emma Curtis Hopkins. He has published all of her books and created Self Treatments (which is a compilation of Self-treatment and other published works). Michael has accepted Emma Curtis Hopkins as his ministry. Emma died in 1925 but is still a great influence on New Thought.Ruth Miller, two other women and Michael formed Wise Woman Press (WWP). He studied the Kingdoms of Consciousness (http://www.sacreddays.org/) with Rev Marcia Sutton and was called to do this work. "Scientific Christian Mental Practice" is Emma's most popular book. WWP publishes a few contemporary female authors. WWP published the Path of Power series (including work by Fillmore and Holmes), which ministers use for sermons. Michael created the websites www.emmacurtishopkins.com and www.wisewomanpress.com. WWP published Emma's major works as well as 23 of her Bible Interpretation Series. There are five Bible Interpretations left to publish. Michael thinks the Bible interpretations are her best work. He won't leave here until they are published.Michael shared history. Emma ordained Myrtle and Charles Fillmore. Emma's student, Annie Rix Militz founded the Home of Truth (which still exists in Alameda, CA). In the late 1800s, when Emma began her ministry, Theosophy came into prominence. She was influenced by Hinduism and other mystic philosophies. There are misperceptions about Emma. One is that Malinda Cramer was a student of Emma. One of Emma's students, Kate Bingham taught the Brooks sisters. A healing took place. With Melinda Cramer, the women created Divine Science. At one time, everything was called Christian Science, but Mary Baker Eddy became owner of the name Christian Science. To Michael, New Thought teaching is that Christ is the Truth. Michael changed the name of Emma's book, "First Lessons in Christian Science". This was Emma's first book, but no one wanted to publish it by that name. It's now called "First Lessons from the Journals of Emma Curtis Hopkins". To Michael, the most intriguing part of Emma's teaching is Christ. A lot of New Thought teachings do not include Christ. Michael stopped practicing Catholicism, but he continues his connection with the Christ Presence. Emma teaches Jesus Christ. She teaches that the Bible stories are about us. She doesn't talk about Heaven and Hell, but instead about how to let Christ be your life. Ernest Holmes got mysticism from Emma. Mysticism is an encompassing presence. Holmes' teaching changed after that. Fenwicke Holmes said that. Fenwicke wrote The Voice Celestial. Michael interprets the poem as the Bhagavad Gita story.Yogananda's teaching came from Babaji. Yogananda (Home | Self-Realization Fellowship (yogananda.org) was one of Michael's grandmother's teachers.Michael created an Emma Curtis Hopkins group at https://groups.io/g/emmacurtishopkins/Michael came into ministry because of a longing to know God. He was previously engaged in past life regression work. In his past, he found that he was a minister and a friar. He also uses the past life regression work, the tarot, the Kaballah, and numerology to keep in touch with the Presence. The Truth is always out there.Michael's mystic moment came when he was a young man at a party who got in an argument and got stabbed. Something within him said "Life goes on within you and without you". He knew there are greater things than the life he was living. Native climate justice organizer Ruth Miller discusses her work towards an indigenized just transition amidst urgent threats to her people and land. She frames this struggle within the historical context of colonial violence and forced settlement of native Alaskan communities, pointing to the need to center indigenous knowledge in national and international policy.

We had an absolute blast in the Sapphire Lounge with one of our most favorite new friends, Ruth "Rewthie Toothie" Miller this week. Ruthie joined our disc golf family in 2019, and she was volunteering before she was playing in tournaments. Since then, her and her husband Jamie have been at every work day and community outreach event we have hosted in Nashville, and earlier this year, she TD'd her first event, the most successful Trilogy Challenge I've ever seen at the newly renovated Two Rivers DGC. It was awesome to get her unique perspective and insight on the current state of disc golf as both a newer female player, and as someone who has thrown herself headlong into the administrative side of the sport. Ruth and Jamie are also two of the culinary minds behind 2020 MCDG Bag Tag Series sponsor and most excellent Nashville sandwich stop, Mitchell's Delicatessen, and it was even awesomer to eat her homemade Filipino Chicken Adobo after the podcast. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did! #discgolf #pdga #bedynamic --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lastcashpodcast/support

Joel Isaak's family is from the village of Ch’aghałnikt (Point Possession) and currently lives in Soldotna. His Dena’ina name, Łiq’a yes, translates to salmon skin which relates to his pursuits of learning fish skin sewing. Joel is an artist, educator and lifelong learner. He uses art to uncover understanding of working in an educational environment where he combines the Western education model with traditional Alaska Native ways of life. Language work inspires Joel’s artistic practice and education methodology. He uses multi-cultural communication as a medium to aid in language revitalization. Art has served as a safeguard for him and a medium for generating understanding and communicating hard truths to a wide range of audiences to help facilitate wellness. We also welcomed special guest Ruth Miller to this conversation. Ruth Miller is a Dena’ina Athabaskan woman who was born and raised in Alaska and currently lives in Anchorage. Her family on her maternal side is from the village of Ekuk in Bristol Bay. She claims Russian Jewish heritage from her Father’s side. She is a climate activist, Indigenous rights advocate, traditional beadwork artist, storyteller, and singer. She is also on the path of becoming a traditional healer. She is a recent graduate of Brown University and received a BA in Critical Development Studies with a focus on Indigenous resistance and liberation. She believes that the true liberation of Indigenous peoples must begin with a deep spiritual foundation in the wisdom of the ancestors, and knowledge of how to live in harmony and respect with the lands, waters, plants, and animal relatives. This means honoring the power of cultural bonds, the strength of healthy communities, and the beauty of Indigenous lifeways and artforms. (Bio from https://sustainus.org/people/ruth-miller/). more.

Po! with Ruth Miller in conversation with David Eastaugh Po! was originally formed by Ruth Miller (vocals and guitar), with Julian Glover (bass) and Mark Fuccio (drums). Usually subsumed under the C86 or twee pop headings - which is not essentially to misrepresent them - they possessed considerable originality. In particular, the themes of misogyny, disappointment, and nostalgia act as a counterpoint to the vocals, melodies, and jangly guitars so characteristic of the genre. Part of the fanzine scene, Po!'s first release was the flexidisc Hopscotch in the Snow, which a Leicestershire fanzine Samantha produced from locally recorded demos in 1987. Jan Frazer replaced Fuccio on drums for this recording. This was picked up by BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, and provoked some interest. In 1988 Po! released another flexidisc, this time shared with The Originals, who played the backing instruments on 'Glass King'. There followed an album, released on the band's own Rutland Records label, entitled Little Stones, 1000 copies of which were pressed. It cost just £20 to record. The backing tracks were recorded on a Tascam reel-to-reel four-track at MikTon Studios (a former factory at 45 Chatham Street, Leicester; now private flats). The backing musicians for Little Stones were members of The Originals; Yvonne Blair (drums & percussion); Kevin Young (Guitar); Terri Lowe (Guitars, Bass Guitar). Equipment was supplied by Lowe and borrowed from Phil Hudson, the sound engineer at The Princess Charlotte, the premier music venue in Leicester. Bob Dylan, an influence, was represented in the form of a cover version of "All I Really Wanna Do", which featured a black 12-string Rickenbacker guitar.

Unity Community of Central Oregon | Sunday's Celebration Service on March 24, 2019 The Healing Journey - Merging Science & Spirit with Dr. Ruth Miller. When Ruth Miller found herself flat on her back with no clear diagnosis and a scary prognosis, the medical world didn't have answers, so she went inside. She was led to books and people and buildings that encouraged clearing her thoughts and emotions in order to heal the body. To her amazement, her symptoms began to ease and, over the months and years that followed, she resumed an even more active schedule than before.. With several degrees in the sciences she felt the need to verify her experience in the theories and experimental results of researchers she respected. Today she shares some of what worked for her - and some of the scientific and spiritual literature that explains and supports them. Dr. Ruth Miller is a systems scientist, futurist and New Thought minister. She is the author of a dozen books and she has translated the teachings of 7 New Thought classic authors into language more easily understood by the modern reader. The Science of Mental Healing, a biography of New Thought teachers and healers, is just one of her books. Her books focus on the relationship between mind and body, culture and consciousness, today's world and tomorrow's possibilities. ******************************************************** Unity's website: http://www.unitycentraloregon.com Located in Bend, Oregon, we are a growing spiritual community of like-minded yet eclectic and unique individuals that come together in love, joy and spiritual growth. The key lies within. To overcome the patterns of today's world we must first change our fundamental feelings and thoughts. And thought is often words—words spoken silently, internally, and spoken out loud, to ourselves or in the presence of others. This then, must be the focus of our spiritual lives: to man- age our thoughts and words in order to experience the truth of our being. We replace old, no longer useful thoughts with a new one—hence the name of the movement: New Thought.
