It's been 25 years since Bring It On hit our screens. In this episode, we're revisiting the cheer movie that shaped a generation, made “Brr, it's cold in here” a cultural anthem, and gave The Clovers their well-deserved redemption story! Plus, we talk sequels (yes, even that cringey one with Solange and Hayden), behind-the-scenes tea, and more! La cumbre de Alaska
Der Motor des Käfers röchelt. Jahrgang 1976, hellblau, Fellsitze. Ruckartig. Der Käfer quietscht. Teddy fliegt fast durch die Windschutzscheibe. „Alle Räder stehen still, weil das Stoppschild es so will“, murmelt Teddy verschnupft.
Thou shall get in the time machine! Ladies, fellas and non-binary friends leave your cares at home 'cause your favourite 2000s pop explorers Joel and David have arranged a date with Destiny. Somewhat coinciding with DC3's recent reunion at the Cowboy Carter Tour finale; we are back celebrating one of the most successful girl groups of our generation. Let's go back to 1999 - a time of cowboy hats, bandana tops and diamond belly rings - to revisit one of the best-selling R&B albums of our time, "The Writing's On The Wall". Not only was this a pivotal coming-of-age album and turning point for Beyoncé, Kelly, Letoya and Latavia's careers; it spawned a string of beloved hits that soundtracked the turn of the millennium like the GRAMMY-winning smash 'Say My Name', the chart-topper 'Bills, Bills, Bills' and bangers 'Bug A Boo' and 'Jumpin Jumpin'. We get into all the singles, music videos, photo shoots, Tina Knowles designs, fave album tracks and fun deep cuts (hello, Solange remix!). And chronicle what a whirlwind time of breakthrough success, dramatique line-up changes, and global presence it was for Destiny's Child! As always, much respect to ALL the ladies: Beyoncé, Kelly, Michelle, Letoya, Latavia, Farrah and obviously... Nathan and Ryan dive into the gritty, violent world of Italian giallo-poliziotteschi hybrids with What Have They Done to Your Daughters? (1974). As a spiritual sequel to What Have You Done to Solange?, this grim entry shifts gears from mystery to procedural, blending slasher aesthetics with police thriller intensity. The hosts dissect the film's stark portrayal of institutional failure, its exploitation undertones, and director Massimo Dallamano's tense, stylish direction. Is this a hidden gem of 1970s Euro-crime cinema, or just another sleazy entry in the giallo canon? Time to hit the neon-lit streets of Rome and find out.
