The Godfather Part III (1990) (GUEST: Matt Curione from Talk Film Society)
Felicia is joined by Matt Curione, to discuss Brian De Palma's take on political corruption and surveillance, in Blow Out (1981). We chat about De Palma's use of split screen to give the audience multiple layers of information at once, through his unique style of visual storytelling. Along with using a character who works as a sound recordist, to act as the films detective. Blow Out was a box office bomb upon its release, and has since been lauded as one of the greatest films of all time. Just goes to show you how his artistry has stood the test of time. Never lower your eyes to an enemy! This week Dave Demarest, Matt Curione, and Troy D'Angelo cover 1990's live action blockbuster "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" starring Judith Hoag, Elias Koteas, and a young Sam Rockwell in his breakout role (?) as "head thug" aka The Godfather of menthol cigarettes. We go in depth about our thoughts on the movie, our history and love for this franchise in general, and talk about some tidbits we learned online about the film. After that we close out the show by doing some trivia, awarding an MVP/6th Man of the movie, and talking about some things we watched over the week which we'd recommend. You can follow Dave on Instagram, Twitter, and Letterboxd @ddem2000, Matt is also on IG, Twitter, and Letterboxd @therealmattc, and Troy is on IG @endors_troi. We also have an Instagram and Twitter for this podcast @wasitthatbadpod and if you would like to talk about this movie or any other movie with Dave, Matt, Troy or hundreds of other great people join the "Movie and Television Talk" Facebook group just type that into a group search and we are the red cover photo. It’s the penultimate episode of the ultimate monster mash! It’s volume 4 of Freddy vs. Jason here to help us crack the case is Talk Film Society editor at large and Monsters Never Die podcast’s Matt Curione. Along the way, we dig our claws into Freddy’s tongue abuse, the elastic route between Springwood and Crystal Lake, the “Not Your Daddy’s Freddy As Daddy” syndrome and debate why a mental institute needs such a large and involved computer room. All that plus we choose our own Death-venture and wonder how any Voorhees-related film can claim that Jason is afraid of the water.Never fear - new episodes of Kill By Kill are made available every other Friday!
