Dust off your leather jackets, practice your best slow-motion walk, and get ready for an absolutely stacked episode! This week on The DizRadio Show we are diving deep into the world of Hollywood grit, legendary action, and the art of playing the characters you love to hate. We are thrilled to welcome the ultimate cinematic powerhouse, PATRICK KILPATRICK. If you've watched an action movie in the last few decades, you know his face, you know his presence, and you've definitely cheered (or cringed) at his iconic villainy! Patrick Kilpatrick has gone toe-to-toe with the absolute Mount Rushmore of action cinema. We're talking about trading blows and sharing scenes with Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and James Caan, just to name a few! He takes us behind the scenes of some of his most memorable projects, including Death Warrant, Showdown, Minority Report, Eraser, Best of the Best, The Toxic Avenger and Dying for Living as well as going family friendly in the Free Willy series. He also talks writing and producing. Later in the show, Jonathan from the D-Team drops behind the mic for a fascinating deep dive into the psychology of cinema. Jonathan breaks down exactly why cinematic villains impact us so deeply and stay with us long after the credits roll. Why do we remember the bad guys? How does a truly talented actor balance the scales to play both the ultimate monster and the ultimate hero? We're dissecting the thin line between good and evil on the silver screen! So enjoy the Nostalgia, the Magic, the Wonder, and the Memories with The DizRadio Show "A Pop Culture Celebrity Guest Show"!
Well, the Film School Janitors did it. They accomplished something they normally don't - they finished covering an entire collected work spanning decades! (Insert joke about them not finishing the NCU run yet! - not to be confused with the "MCU"...) With THE TOXIC AVENGER UNRATED (filmed in 2023 and released in 2025), they have consumed all things "Toxie", and does that make them experts? If they remembered everything, it would! So sit back, relax, grab a Tide Pod to chew on, and listen to what the Janitors think about this (final?) (latest?) entry to THE TOXIC AVENGER-VERSE! (Not to be confused with anything Marvel.)

In 2025, New Jersey's favorite hideously deformed creature of superhuman size and strength returned — twice. Writer/director Macon Blair's big-budget reimagining, The Toxic Avenger (2023), finally received a wide theatrical release in August 2025. Peter Dinklage voices Winston, a terminally ill janitor at a corrupt pharmaceutical company who falls into a vat of toxic chemicals and emerges as Toxie — a mop-wielding mutant vigilante. Kevin Bacon stars as the company's scheming CEO and Elijah Wood as his security-minded brother, in a film that wraps its splatter comedy around themes of healthcare, corporate greed, and unlikely heroism. Also in 2025, Troma's own Andrew L. Miller and Adam Peltier reconstructed The Toxic Avenger Part II (1989) and Part III (1989) into the single film they were always meant to be. Titled Mr. Melvin, the 127-minute cut restores the narrative logic Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz originally intended — following Toxie's post-heroic depression, a manipulated journey to Japan, and a Faustian deal with Apocalypse Inc. that turns him into a corporate sellout before the ultimate confrontation with the Devil himself. Einfach mal ausprobieren. Sozusagen, am eigenen Leibe erfahren...uuhlala! https://www.gamespodcast.de/abo/

Filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman railed against Hollywood his whole career as the founder of cult B-movie production house, Troma, while his daughter Lily-Hayes dreamt only of fitting in. Lloyd Kaufman has been the father of anti-establishment filmmaking for over 50 years. His production company Troma Entertainment is known for its gory, controversial and politically-charged movies. His daughter Lily-Hayes grew up on the sets of these bizarre and often quite gruesome Troma films, such as Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead. She had her first on-screen role at the age of 4 in one of Troma's biggest hits – the 1984 horror-comedy The Toxic Avenger – a film about a nerd who turns into a mutant superhero after falling into a vat of nuclear waste. But the chaos of the films was not mirrored at home in New York; Lily-Hayes and her sisters went to an Upper East Side all-girls private school, sweets were strictly rationed, and life was kept in order. When it came time for Lily-Hayes to pick her own career path, she wanted to push back against her father's anti-establishment line of work. But how could she rebel against the ultimate rebel? Well, she went into investment banking and forged a ‘normal' life on the trading floor. One day she witnessed a colleague take part in a chicken nugget eating contest. It was a sight that would rival even the grossest scenes she'd witnessed on a Troma set and it pushed her back towards the call of the Tromaverse.Presenter: Asya Fouks Producer: Andrea RangecroftLives Less Ordinary is a podcast from the BBC World Service that brings you the most incredible true stories from around the world. Ben is still recovering so the three Musketeers are at it again. Scot takes us on a trip across the galaxy and comic book history as we look at what might just be the first ever comic book crossover super team. Avengers? Justice League? Never heard of em. Make mine: Defenders of the Earth. These guys are so old school, Scot has to explain where the term "Pulp" Action Heroes comes from! Going a little less further back in time, Trent debuts a new segment called "From the Archives" where we delve into the mind of 1990s Toyfare Magazine writers to see just what they were smoking. And much like the 90s itself, things are a little, funky. We also preview another new segment and some of our upcoming international travels! It's all happening! The Toxic Avenger is back… but is the remake actually good? The 2023 remake of The Toxic Avenger finally made its way into theaters in 2025 and onto streaming, bringing the cult classic splatter-comedy back to life for a new generation. Starring Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, and Jacob Tremblay, this outrageous reboot leans hard into gore, satire, and B-movie madness. But does it actually work?In this episode of Fantasy for the Ages, Jim dives into the radioactive chaos to break down what makes this movie fun, what doesn't quite land, and whether this cult remake is worth your time. We'll talk about:• The film's wild practical effects and over-the-top violence• Peter Dinklage's performance as the unlikely hero• How the remake compares to the original cult classic• The satire on corporate greed and environmental destruction• And the biggest things that might make some viewers skip itIf you love weird superhero movies, cult horror, and splatter comedy, this one might be right up your alley. But if you're squeamish… you might want to look away.Let's talk about it.⸻

KOSMIC! Novelist, comics writer, and historian Stuart Moore joins the podcast to discuss his new book for the Marvel Age of Comics critical series from Bloomsbury and Marvel, Doctor Strange: A Decade of Dark Magic. As the title promises, Moore's book looks at the first ten years of the character - from its start as a supporting feature in Strange Tales from artist Steve Ditko and writer Stan Lee through multiple reimaginings and adjustments in the hands of writers and artists like Roy Thomas, Gene Colan, and Steve Englehart. In this discussion with bookseller Justin Remer, Moore talks about the dialogue Doctor Strange created with the '60s counterculture, the tumultuous publishing history of the title, and his own prior interactions with the late Ditko and Lee. If you stick around, there's some Toxic Avenger talk near the end as well. Pick up a copy of the book at Skylight or order the audiobook version from Libro.fm. Hosted and produced by Justin Remer. Recorded remotely via Zencastr. Opening music: "Optimism (Instrumental)" by Duck the Piano Wire. Closing music: "Rule of 3s (Solemnity Child)" by Elastic No-No Band.
Synopsis Peter Dinklage plays Winston, a janitor working for a super polluter company called Body Talk Healthstyle, who struggles to support his stepson Wade after his mother dies of cancer. When he is diagnosed with cancer of his own, he appeals to his boss for an insurance policy that will cover his medical expenses. Like all good bosses, he denies this, so Wade attempts to steal the money only to be caught by henchmen and thrown in toxic waste. But to everyone’s surprise, the sludge only makes Winston more badass. Under the new name of the Toxic Avenger, Winston fights crime and kicks ass. Review of The Toxic Avenger (2023) I will admit that I may have originally misjudged The Toxic Avenger. Our Facebook group has mentioned this movie multiple times, and it just never looked very appealing to me. I am personally just not very interested in crass, overly explicit shock gore movies. But to be honest, I found myself laughing a lot more than I expected to. There are some genuinely funny moments in this movie, and the cast is stacked with actors like Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, and, of course, Peter Dinklage, who carry this movie on their backs. It’s still not really my cup of tea, and I actually think the movie got progressively less interesting as it moved through act 3, but it’s still a decent movie that affords some good times. Score 6/10
In this episode, Dave discusses Dead Kids, The Shed, Veronica, The Toxic Avenger, and In Their Skin.

In this episode of The GR80s and Beyond, Dave, Chris, Matt, and Khrysti discuss the hideously deformed creature of super human size and strength, the first superhero from New Jersey, 1984's "The Toxic Avenger!"
Today on Word Balloon, we're joined by one of the true originals of independent cinema, Lloyd Kaufman, the co-founder and driving force behind Troma Entertainment, the longest-running independent film studio in the world and the home of cult classics like The Toxic Avenger and Class of Nuke 'Em High. For more than five decades, Lloyd has made movies completely on his own terms, low budget, high attitude, zero apologies. In this conversation, we talk about how Troma survived outside the Hollywood system, why embracing the underground still matters, what it really takes to stay independent, and how creativity thrives when you stop waiting for permission. This isn't just a trip through cult-film history, it's a master class in doing it yourself and sticking around long enough to prove it works
