Dr. Dennis Hall addresses the climate of this dislike, distrust, and hatred that exists in American society. He reviews the gradual movement of Democrats and Republicans along urban/rural and liberal/conservative lines, noting a large percentage of evangelical Christians have aligned with the Republican party. He notes that 40 years ago Democrats and Republicans felt okay about the opposing political party, but for the last four decades, political partisans have increasingly turned against each other. Leaders in both parties accuse the others of destroying our democracy and demeaning name-calling is commonplace among politicians. A discussion of how Christians have been caught up in this atmosphere of hate, being referred to as bigoted homophobic misogynistic xenophobic hatemongers who through their antiabortion activities wage a war on women. He points out that there is no comparison between the horrors of genocide against Christians around the world, but there is a quiet persecution of believers in the West. The question of, “Why are Christians hated so much?” is analyzed. Dr. Hall concludes that just like Jesus Christians of today make others uncomfortable due to their moral high ground. The podcast outlines Dr. Michael A. Milton's article, “3 Real Ways Christians Can Love Their Enemies.” Lesson one – Remember the concept of enemy is not a permanent state but a temporary position. Many who curse God today will be preaching his word tomorrow. Lesson two – We must realize that we, too, were once enemies of God. Lesson three – We love our enemies so that we might please the God who loved us. The podcast ends by reminding the listeners that Jesus is showing us how to love our enemies and teaching us why we must love them. Can also be seen on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/4GGp7ohlz-I

Esteemed author, educator, and pastor, Dr. Michael A. Milton is the featured guest on this podcast. The host Dr. Dennis Hall, an ordained minister leads Dr. Milton through a discussion of his book, "Hit by Friendly Fire." Friendly fire is described as unexpected attacks by those we trust and love, many times other Christians. The impact that this kind of pain can have on our minds and bodies is explored. It is pointed out that the clock stops when this happens, and our spiritual transformation is interrupted. These theologians use Scripture to outline how God often brings good out of evil and how His infinite wisdom overrules human events to end in his praise. In God, there can be no more victims-only victors. Can also be seen on YouTube at:https://youtu.be/ewqXYg4Nzh4
Dr. Dennis Hall and his guest Dr. Michael A. Milton, a highly regarded pastor, author, artist, educator, evangelist, and singer-songwriter, illuminate the listeners with a definition of New Socialism in contemporary society. They compare socialism to Christianity, noting that socialism is an economic ideology where the state decides who benefits from the distribution of wealth. In socialism, the rich who do not voluntarily support the state are punished while the poor who surrender to the state are rewarded. In Christianity, all, rich or poor, are raised up when their spiritual attitudes are in line with God. In socialism, the state will steal private property from its lawful owners and give it to those that the state deems worthy. In Christianity, coveting your neighbor's goods is a sin included in the Ten Commandments. Socialism vilifies the family unit to enable the state to gain power. Dr. Milton uses a metaphor of a herd of hyenas killing an antelope on the Serengeti to describe how the socialists gradually weaken those unwilling to surrender to the state. This podcast ends with the admonition that Christians must fight to protect God-given rights threatened by socialism and be a witness for Jesus Christ as the light of the world. "Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting the tomato in a fruit salad," the ever-wise Chris Goede is noted as saying. What is wisdom, though? It might feel like a word that has no context or is so abstract that we cannot wrap our minds around it. Yet it's a very distinct word chosen by Solomon. So how, then, is wisdom different from knowledge or understanding? Here are the definition of the words that can cause us such confusion:Definitions:Wisdom: Not just about knowing what’s good for you, but applying that knowledge into your everyday life. The ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight.Knowledge: Facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. Awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation.Understanding: Having insight or good judgment.Comprehension.Discretion or discernment: The quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information. The ability to determine right from wrong.Hopefully these will help as will our discussions each week!BE IN THE WORDFor wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.
