Always Be Ready: The Second Coming of Jesus
(Previously recorded and published on June 20, 2020) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Jesus said the powers of the heaven would be "shaken" ... And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Luke 21:25-27 Many years ago, God gave me a dream where the earth slipped on it's axis. People were terrified. A newscaster was trying to report what happened but he was too frightened to continue his broadcast so he just got up and left ... The government leaders were meeting with scientists and religious leaders to see what could be done about this matter. Nothing can be done by man to stop that which is coming upon this earth. The thing the believers can do between now and then is to get their own lives in good spiritual condition ... for it is coming!

Congratulations, you have made it to the last day of the Bible in a Year journey! Fr. Mike concludes our journey through the Bible by reflecting on the promise of a new heaven and a new earth in Revelation 21. It is this profound promise that reassures us that Christ is the beginning and the end, the one who makes all things new, the one who wipes away every tear, the one who conquers death, and the only one who offers us everlasting life, a life without end. Today's readings are Revelation 21-22, Hebrews 11-13, and Proverbs 31:30-31. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Please note: The Bible contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.
When we pray for God's Kingdom to come and God's will to be done, we are asking for the final coming of the reign of God and for his plan of salvation to come to fruition. This petition is most powerfully expressed in the Mass. Fr. Mike reminds us that anticipating Christ's return should inflame our hearts to continue our mission here on earth and to carry out God's will with perseverance. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 2816-2827. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. “But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” —Matthew 24:36. The season of Advent is a time of anticipation and waiting. Advent comes from the Latin “adventus” which means “coming” or “arrival.” In Advent, we wait for the birth of the Christ child. Yet theologians talk about three advents: the birth of Jesus at Christmas, the arrival of the Holy Spirit, and the second coming of Jesus. We will explore these three advents even as we wait to celebrate the baby born in Bethlehem. Today's scripture reading is Matthew 24:36-44. We dive into one of the most misunderstood and misused verses in the Bible: Daniel 7:14. PLUS, a look at some of Trump's pre-inauguration cabinet picks.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Revelation 19:11-16 - What is the Rapture? 1 Thess. 4:17 - to be caught up = rapto, which means to seize, to carry off 1. At the Rapture: the Church (Believers) will meet Jesus in the air. 1 Thess. 4:17 At the Second Coming: Jesus will return with His Church (Believers) to the earth. Revelation 19:14 2. The Rapture occurs before the 7-Year Tribulation. 1 Thess. 5:9. Revelation 3:10 The Second Coming of Jesus occurs at the end of the 7-Year Tribulation. Revelation 6-19 3. The Rapture is an act of deliverance for believers from the wrath (judgment) of God. 1 Thess. 4:13-17; 5:9 The Second Coming of Jesus is an act of judgment on all unbelievers. Revelation 19:11-16 4. The Rapture of the Church will be done unexpectedly and instantly. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52. 1 Thess. 5:2 The Second Coming of Jesus will be visible to all. Revelation 1:7. Matthew 24:29-30 5. The Rapture of the Church could happen at any moment. The Second Coming of Jesus will occur after many other end-time events take place. So what does this mean for me? Be Prepared - Not Scared Live each day ready to meet Jesus. Tell loved ones and friends who are not prepared.

Join us as we reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the parallels between the days of Noah and the present times. In this devotional, we delve into the scriptures, particularly Matthew 24:37-39 and Hebrews 11:6-7, to draw lessons on faith, righteousness, and God's grace. Be inspired by the story of Noah, a faithful man who obeyed God's command amidst a world of indifference and sin. Let these insights encourage you to live a life committed to God, recognizing the long-suffering and grace offered to us today. Share this devotion with others and reflect on the urgency of salvation in these trying times. 00:00 Introduction and Daily Devotion 01:10 Faithful Men and Their Legacy 01:49 Lessons from the Days of Noah 05:31 Noah's Faith and Obedience 06:41 Living in the Day of Grace 08:47 Call to Salvation 10:39 Conclusion and Encouragement
It seems that everywhere I look lately, be it online or something I overhear in conversations on the streets, that so many people are repeating things they ‘know to be true' about the return of Jesus Christ that simply are not true at all, according to the Bible. Prepare to have some of your pet theories about the end times replaced by Bible truth. On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking the 3 most-popular (in my opinion) myths and misconceptions surrounding the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. They have to do with the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD, the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church, bringing in the kingdom, and the end of the world. Only by rightly dividing the scriptures from a dispensational perspective can we ever hope to sort all this stuff out. Tonight we will endeavour to do exactly that on this episode of Rightly Dividing, please join us!

4-28-24 Biblical-Literacy Dr. David Capes taught a class in the Study of Revelation with a focus on the apocalyptic themes noted by the Apostle Paul. Dr. Capes reviewed more traits of apocalyptic themes including analysis of the academic definition, literature of the time, and how it encouraged faithfulness for the persecuted believers. In addition, Dr. Capes shared about Paul's mindset and apocalyptic ideas in his writing: experienced visions, two ages of history (this evil age ruled by Satan and the age to come ruled by God), Jesus came to deliver us from this present age, and how we remain locked in battle with spiritual forces. Listen to Dr. Capes conclude in sharing a C.S. Lewis excerpt from Narnia and contrasting two kinds of people: living and dead. Where will you be? God wants to rescue you from this present age.
Lead Pastor, Dr. Corey Abney talks about the second coming of Jesus and that our true hope lies in the truth that Jesus will return again one day.
In this wildly thought-provoking episode, we delve into the divergent beliefs surrounding the anticipated return of Jesus Christ. While some interpretations envision a scenario of divine retribution, where Jesus returns to enact judgment and slaughter his enemies, others propose a more nuanced and hopeful perspective. We react to a video by a prominent pastor at the recent ShepCon '24 where he said, among other things that when Jesus returns, he will "shish kebab us".
