We open with the media saying the Pope did not meet with VP JD Vance, only to find they did meet before the Pope passed away. I am on-call to fill-in on the Erick Erickson Show this Thursday if they sign the Ukraine mineral rights deal. Then we look back to just over a year ago to remind everyone how the Democrats thought of illegals as the “Americans they care most about.” This leads to more about the Democrat Party siding with MS-13, to the point of claiming Donald Trump is the one who wants this story to be kept alive in order to hide how bad the economy is doing. Economist Peter St. Onge says we are starting to enter deflation and sides with Trump on wondering why Fed Chair Jerome Powell won't lower interest rates? Disgruntled and fired leakers from the DoD put out a hit-piece on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth that the NYTimes dutifully ran with and got people repeating over the weekend. Once again, seems to be just another fake hit from the usual suspects. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) says the Democrat party will remember those countries who worked with Donald Trump and they will be thought of unkindly. Seems rather ominous and authoritarian. SCOTUS seems to have contradicted itself after putting out an emergency midnight ruling that says the opposite of what the put out just over a week ago regarding the presidency and foreign policy. A judge in New Mexico has resigned after it was discovered he was sheltering an illegal and member of the TdA gang in his home. The NLRB whistleblower who claimed DOGE stole data to sell to the Russians is now being investigated for making up the story. I open with a piece from Politico, praising Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) for putting his constituent first by flying to El Salvador. When did illegal aliens who happen to also be wife-abusing gang members become eligible to vote in our elections? And, with that, the IRS is looking to pull Harvard's tax-exempt status while DHS says they want the name of foreign students who participated in anti-Semitic attacks or they will revoke all foreign student visas. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) was asked about public monies going to Harvard and other schools. She reminds the audience that public money comes with strings like obeying the law. AG Pam Bondi is not going to allow confused men to invade women's spaces. She is going to fight for women at all levels. This is taking place just as US Fencing has decided to put Stephanie Turner on probation after refusing to fight a male. More leakers have been found and removed in the DoD. I then share an interesting tech story about moving the “login” button on the IRS website. I think we can safely say who should be trusted and who are the thieves. Finally, if you think Trump voters are regretting their vote, you would be mistaken. A CNN poll conducted this month shows his support is rock solid, regardless of the propaganda being spun by the Left. We open with a rant about tax day and how I wish we would implement a much better way to collect taxes that does not require so much time, effort and energy on an annual basis. This leads to the issue of Harvard university wanting to continue to corrupt the minds of it's students, while also taking public money and being tax-exempt. A CNN legal analyst had to side with the views of the White House when it comes to the illegal from El Salvador who was sent back to his home country. President Trump said CNN probably hates America, which led to Dana Bash opening a segment saying they don't hate America. So, I play some sound bites over the months to see if she is telling the truth. Judge Boadberg is inserting himself again into the Executive Branch, this time telling Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth that he cannot implement tougher physical fitness requirements in the military. We are once again putting demographics over capabilities and it has to stop! Finally, former Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen said she thinks Trump's plan to bring back manufacturing is a “pipe dream.” Almost as if on queue, Nvidia, just hours later announced a $500 billion dollar investment into building advanced AI chips in the United States. Here is my fill-in work on the nationally syndicated Erick Erickson Show for Monday, April 14, 2025. I discussed tax day coming up before diving into the Trump tariff plan and how it's all about divesting so much of our reliance on China and other bad actors on the world stage. We then look at how the media is misrepresenting the deportation of the MS-13 gang member from El Salvador. We spend time discussing both the SAVE Act and Real ID. The former shows how desperate Democrats are to keep voting open to anyone and everyone who is not eligible to vote. As for the later, it's amazing how many on the Right are worried about Real ID being implemented. The law was passed in 2005 and has slowly rolled out to where all 50 states are already issuing Real IDs via drivers licenses and other government issued identification. Democrats have decided they will be the party that sides with the 20% over the rest of the country that is in the 80% of most common sense issues. On the flipside, elitists on the Left wonder if the upending of the world economy is worth it just to create some HVAC jobs. The Space Force base commander in Greenland, Colonel Susan Meyers has been relieved of command for flagrant insubordination. We are learning the Biden regime buried information that dozens of U.S. military personnel contracted COVID-19 while on an exercise in Wuhan in late 2019, BEFORE the virus supposedly was even released. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) says food and homes cost so much because Trump is deporting all of the migrants who do those jobs. The Left really wants to keep the slave labor class intact, don't they? We open the show with better than expected CPI for the month of March. John Bolton makes a dolt of himself as he suggests Trump is economically illiterate less than 24 hours before the single-biggest jump in the stock market in recent history. Sen. Adam Schiff (in his pants) (D-CA), in a three day period, managed to go from being angry at Trump over tariffs to being angry at Trump for pausing the tariffs. We also remember Sen. Chuck “You” Schumer (D-NY) loved Trump 45's tariff's on China. President Trump revealed the strategy yesterday, getting China to walk into a trap while showing the rest of the world he is open to fair trade negotiations. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirms the strategy and later reminds us that Trump is focused on Main Street, not just Wall Street. In the meantime, Ambassador Greene, as trade representative to Congress, has to listen to an unhinged and emotional mean-girl Beta-male in the form of Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV) screech for 5 minutes. Surprisingly, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) says she understand the Trump tariff plan and agrees we need more industry here in the United States. On the flipside, in desperation to find a way to paint the positive jump in the DOW as a bad thing, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) thinks it's an example of insider trading. Batya Ungar-Sargon reminds us that Trump is the one fighting for the middle class and middle America. In Congress, only 4 Democrats voted for the SAVE Act. This bill makes it the law that voters need to have proof of U.S. Citizenship to vote in federal elections. The View's Sunny Hostin demonstrates the view of the Left with their soft bigotry of low expectations. An Op-Ed in USAToday says we have tariffs underway, but Congress needs to get on tax cuts and cuts in regulation. To get them started, Trump just signed an order to make sure all departments are ignoring any unlawful regulations. Finally, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made an announcement in Panama. We open our show with China being the only country, so far, to engage in retaliatory tariffs. Trump says we will jump to 104% on them with threats to go higher. Kevin O'Leary believes they need to be at 400% and that would force their leader to jump on a plane to Washington, D.C. Not sure if White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt listens to my show, but she used the same quotes I did to remind the press that Democrats were all in favor of China tariffs going all the way back to Nancy Pelosi in 1996. Seems odd that they are no longer in favor of them now. Former WSJ journalist Asra Nomani did some investigative work and found that all of the recent protest are all funded by organizations with direct ties to the Democratic National Committee. It's astroturfing pure and simple. Melanie Krause, acting head of the IRS has stepped down after losing the fight to keep tax data of illegal aliens with DHS personnel. In other words, she was trying to keep us from knowing who they were paying to be here illegally. Fauxcahontas took the morning shows to say Donald Trump's chaos is going to keep other countries from investing in the United States. There problem with her illogic is we already have more commitments in investments in our country in the first 80 days of Trump than we did in four years of Joe Biden. inally, Texas AG Ken Paxton is investigating US Fencing for how they treated Stephanie Turner for blackcarding her after she chose not to fight with a male. We open the show with Sen. Chuck “You” Schumer (D-NY) starting to run out of new material for the fearporn train. On the flip side, Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) says it's far too early to panic and she said her constituents are okay waiting a bit to see how the Trump reciprocal tariff plan starts to unfold. This morning, President Trump even said he hates the initial pain, but is happy to see so many countries lining up to negotiate fair trade deals with the United States. Then, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins had a great one-liner for CNN's Jake Tapper, while she was discussing the issues with unfair trade in the agriculture sector. Next, I take a moment to discuss how soulless some influencers are in our own country. I use a tweet by NY Time best-selling author Don Winslow as an example. I follow that up with propaganda from former White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates. If Trump is really out to hurt the little guy and give all the breaks to his billionaire buddies, why did he hurt the stock market like he did? CNN's Harry Enten reveals more interesting polling, with the overall message being that Americans see Trump taking us in a different direction and feeling like he needs more ability to accomplish his agenda. The SCOTUS just pulled the rug out from under activist D.C. District Court Judge Boasberg. Then, in another ruling a California judge had his injunction stayed as it relates to Trump's team being able to fire probationary employees. We get a sound bite from the Village Idiot, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) where she perfectly illustrates the Left's belief in the soft bigotry of low expectation. And, she did it with her fake accent, while pretending she was at a comedy club. We get a sneak peek at Ellie Cohanim, who might be on the short list to replace Elise Stefanik for UN Ambassador. She wants to “DOGE” the UN and root out their issues with antisemitism. Finally, President Trump is set to sign an Executive Order putting emphasis on keep our clean-burning coal plants going. Then I add my thoughts on the need for more new generation nuclear facilities. We open our show with the trio of lawmakers who still think proxy voting is the biggest issue of the day. Then we look at the one PsyOp the Left has been sticking to for weeks and that is the lie that Trump voters are saying they regret voting for him or that “we didn't vote for this.” It's all a bunch of propaganda. In the meantime, the announcement of tariffs (not their enactment, as of yet) has brought 50 countries to the negotiating table, including the EU and India. As to the stock market, it's important to remember that while it is a part of the economy, it is not the whole of the economy. Donald Trump is trying to make sure Main Street is treated as a throw away part of our economy over Wall Street. This leads to a discussion about tariffs being a tax on corporate activity and opens the door to a discussion over all taxes on corporations being bad. China is trying to out tariff the United States, but it's a fight they cannot win. Trump fired back a message giving China one day to reverse their retaliatory tariffs they just announced. Have you noticed a lot of the (paid) protesters are much older? We know they get paid around $100 for two hours of “work.” There also seems to be a dreadful lack of diversity. It's so bad for the Democrats that long-time strategist and pollster, Doug Schoen, says his party is leaderless and rudderless and they seem to only have a position of opposing anything Trump says or does. As an example of their sheer hypocrisy, we turn to an interview Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) gave in 2015 where he said open borders was bad and was a far-right plan to flood the country with cheap labor. He wanted to fight for American workers and their salaries. Funny how he changed tunes just a few years later. Victor Davis Hanson reminds a liberal interviewer of the very thing we discussed last week – we don't need to announce tariffs on Russia when we already have hard sanctions in place. And, while we are at it, there is a reason why tiny island nations were included in the tariffs, but Leftists keep thinking they have another “gotcha” point. It's Friday, which means we get to open the show with Tara's Top 10 news stories the Legacy/mainstream media didn't cover this week. It's a great chance to run through 10 different news items in rapid fire. We then dive into the positive economic numbers before addressing the organized push by the left to stoke as much fear and fiction as they can over reciprocal tariffs. So, to illustrate their hypocrisy and lack of any real core values, I give you a sound bite from Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in 1996, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) in 2008 and President Barack Obama (D) 2018. Then, we pull a quote that predates all of them from Donald Trump in 1988. If you find low-IQ people online asking why Russia isn't part of the tariff announcement, remind them that the U.S. has crushing sanctions in place already that forbids any trade with them. CNN puts paid propagandists on their network as “experts” to keep stoking market fears in an effort to hurt President Trump. However, we are already seeing countries like Israel, Argentina and now Vietnam discussing zero tariffs between nations. Our final news story helps to illustrate what low-IQ politicians exist on the Democrat side of the aisle. Rep. Julie Johnson (D-TX) misses a Joseph Goebbels reference so badly, she thinks the GOP was evoking his name as a compliment, rather than a warning. As we end the show, I spend a few minutes addressing how we might begin to reprogram our own brains away from anxiety and depression into more positive elements of joy and satisfaction. We open with a little more from yesterday's discussion over Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) and her partnering with Rep. Brittany Petterson (D-CO) for the purpose of trying to pass proxy voting for new mom's and dad's. I then spend a lot of time discussing tariffs and acknowledging the short-term pain in favor of the much larger long-term gain. We hear from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and from a self-described Leftist in Batya Ungar-Sargon. We then cut to a Democrat presser trying to throw the Education Secretary under the bus. However, Secretary McMahon comes outside to watch and is literally asked to steal the Democrats presser. The filthy piece of human debris asked a member of the USDA committee on nutrition guidelines if changing diet will lead to weight loss. Incredibly, the answer they give is genetics. This leads me down an interesting, albeit scary, rabbit hole. And, as we are on the topic of HHS agencies, it looks like James O'Keefe strikes again, catching a member of NIH discussing ways to hide from DOGE and how he wants to shoot them. Finally, we end with yet another female athlete who is forced to forfeit a match rather than compete against a male. This just happened in WOMEN'S Team USA Fencing. I will have to apologize for my tone, today. The opening story deals with the nonsense pulled by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) in putting her niche issue of proxy voting for new mom's/dad's before all of the other items more pressing to the America First agenda. I then move to the election wins in Florida and the one loss in Wisconsin for their Supreme Court justice. CNN provides yet another blatant example of how they are going to continue to lie about the DOGE team wanting to cut entitlements, even after Scott Walker fact-check's them live over and over again. Fox New's Jessica Tarlov tries to catch Elon Musk in controversy to which he says he is under so much transparency and scrutiny that it would be impossible if that was his intention, which it is not. It's great to see documentation coming out about the FBI knowing they had the Hunter Biden laptop when they called it Russian disinformation. It's great to see notes from then CIA Director James Brennan proving the White House and major players all knew about Hillary Clinton's plan to create the Trump-Russia collusion hoax. I wish more people believed us over Legacy/mainstream media. HHS is cutting around 20,000 jobs and the Left is collectively losing their minds. Dr. Calley Means braves a hostile room at a Politico discussion to defend the culling of so much bloat and bad policy. Finally, I end with a bit of a rant over how times have changed when I was a 10 years old to where we are today. I use that as an introduction to a story about a man in Georgia who left his 10 year old in charge of a 6 year old and a 1 year old at McDonald's while he left for a job interview. He qualified under a loan program conceived by President Obama and put into law by a Democrat controlled congress. And, while several other also took a loan, he paid his back in full, early and with interest. Many of the others went bankrupt and had their loans forgiven. The Atlantic screws up another story. Turns out the “innocent' Maryland man deported to El Salvador was really an MS13 gang member, now designated as a terrorist. Border Czar Tom Homan makes no apologies for what they are doing. Leslie Stahl is a filthy piece of human debris. Interviewing a Jewish hostage of Hamas who was freed thanks to Donald Trump, when he comments he was starved, she immediately tried to find an excuse, asking him to consider if that was only because Hamas didn't have food for themselves? He immediately told her they ate in front of him as part of his torture. We close with a few back-to-back stories. A childless woman thinks she should get Meternity leave. The Anteater himself, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) who is worried about oligarchs, paid his stepson over $800,000 to run his foundation. The Village Idiot Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) demonstrated real racial bigotry toward Rep. The opening monologue deal with the essence of playing trivia. The United States isn't the only Western democracy practicing lawfare, Democrats are just not as good at it as some of our other European allies. Marine LePen seems to be the latest victim of this disturbing trend among populists. To add to the cultural divide between the US and the UK, it seems a 3-4 year old was dismissed from the nursery because they “misgendered” another toddler.
