There had been a party, and Patrick was working in the castle that night. A number of guests were present for the events leading up to Patrick's death, but, none of their stories were consistent with one another. "What matters most is what the customers think, not what you think." Any time you bring a new product or service to market, you must remember that. Today's guest, Owen Ryan, Founder of Volt Beverage was brave and bold enough to bring a new beverage to market. In the process, he did lots of taste tests and listened to the customer. Since Gatorade controls 75% of the market, he felt he could take some of that market share. Little did he realize taking that market share would be the fight of his life as Coca-Cola and Pepsi took him to court to slow down his progress. This is the story of a little guy taking on the BIG BEVERAGE guys and winning, what an inspiring story. You will enjoy his tips, the mistakes he made and learn where the company is today. Bristol is a city in England that prides itself on being one of Britain’s most tolerant and forward-thinking communities. However, a brutal murder of a disabled man in 2013 left the area recoiling in horror, even more so when it was uncovered that the murder had been the result of institutional racism, a vicious rumor mill, vigilante justice and a misguided police investigation.SPONSOR - WHAT HAPPENED? - Thank you to What Happened? for sponsoring this episode!
