We have had Evan Perperis on the show multiple times and he frequently traveled to compete at Hannibal Race, and we had Rachel Watters on to talk about her first time traveling and competing at the event. This year Christian Brown-Johnson went for the first time and did well in both the 8K and 300 meter races! I wanted to have CBJ on for his own episode to hear about his first experience flying and competing in Hannibal Race in Kuwait. We discuss how it feels to join the MudGear Hannibal Race Pro Team, how to minimize the negative impact of long distance travel, time spent in the Middle East, competing in the 8K and 300M races, his magic motivation mirror, thoughts on hybrid races, and what's coming up for him this year! There was the final race in the Spartan USNS Series but there was also an athlete who ran Savage Chicago who I wanted to have on the show. Mike put it up as a poll and Savage won with 62% (67% at the time he reached out)! Due to this Katelyn reached out and interviewed Kaeley Wynsma who just won Savage Chicago! You may be familiar with Kaeley's name due to us reading podium results in quick news and honestly this was a big factor in wanting to have her on the show. Technically we interviewed her briefly at the Palmerton 3K Spartan series race but she seemed like she deserved her own episode! Shell first took on OCR as a bucket list dream, and fell in love at first sight. When her son Luccketta lost his best friend to suicide, she did the only thing she knew how to help him, and got him involved in Spartan Races. This lit something in him, and he realised that if all children had access to this sport, it might help them, and so Lionsheart Fitness was born. Since then they have been serving the community and building the OCR community up with love, safety of being and physical strength, and they've never looked back.

I spoke with singer-songwriter Léanie Kaleido of the UK-based Indie pop duo, Karamelien. Based in East Grinstead, Karamelien is made up of singer-songwriter, Leanie Kaleido and guitarist Mark Foster. They released their debut single "Ascension Heights," a song inspired by and featuring Top Topham's track of the same name. While technically a new project, "Ascension Heights" samples the track by Leanie's father, the late Top Topham, the original founding guitarist of the Yardbirds. Produced by RIDE frontman, Mark Gardener, this song also features an appearance by Morris "Mo" Pleasure, bassist of Earth, Wind and Fire. “My father was a huge influence on me both musically and spiritually, and I will always be grateful to him for that. He was always so supportive of my own work and we often played music together. I sampled his beautiful instrumental track 'Ascension Heights' and wrote the lyrics as a tribute to his spirituality, which was a huge part of his life. All of his children miss his presence greatly.” Leanie Kaleido More recently, Karemelien also released "Wait For Me," a song about reincarnation, a piano ballad produced by Chris Mars of A Flock of Seagull. The song was inspired by a love story that has been made into a book, a story that transcends life and death. Karamelien also released "Lionhearts" an uplifting track about love and unity in difficult times. https://karamelien.bandcamp.comThank you to Shameless Promotion PRPlaylist and podcast: https://djnocturna.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DJNocturnaListen : http://modsnapradio.comQUEEN OF WANDS with DJ Nocturna RemixedEvery Saturday on ModSnap Radio KMOD: San Antonio3pm (HST), 5pm (PST), 6pm (MST), 7pm (CST), 8pm (EST)

Hey there word nerds! Today, I have the pleasure of interviewing Nathan Makaryk. Nathan is the author of Nottingham, which deconstructs the mythology of Robin Hood in a realistic historical context. Nathan is a playwright, theater-owner, director, stage combat choreographer, and comedian living in Southern California. Nottingham was based on his critically-acclaimed original play The Legend of Robin Hood. Today we’ll be talking about the second installment in his epic Nottingham series: Lionhearts. In this episode Nathan and I discuss: Why he initially hated Robin Hood and how that helped him reimagine it How he adapted his own script into a full-length book The difference between pacing and speed and why that shift is important Plus, his #1 tip for writers. For all the lionhearts out there.
This week a double feature of cult proportions. A camgirl has a breakdown just as she is offered an opportunity from an unknown benefactor. Taking initiative, she jumps right out to California and it all goes down from there. Is it a psychological character study with a detailed and subtle lead performance or a very cheap and boring porn with acting that is embarrassing even for a porn parody? Either way we definitely saw some Portraits of Andrea Palmer. A legend of the stage is spurred by snobby critics and tragically takes his own life... or did he? Is this the great thespian risen or is someone else cutting the reviewers down to size? Can you have too make Shakespeare references in one movie? We took our seats in the Theatre of Blood. All that and Tyler gets pumped, Anna sees two of the greatest horror movies the way God or Sam Raimi (whichever) intended, Kevin continues to have a flourishing social life, and Dave tries not to digress and fails. Join us, won't you?Episode 171- Of Lionhearts and Camgirls
Listen to Ray’s conversation with a leading voice in our nation’s debate over trade. Bryan Riley is the Director of NTU’s Free Trade Initiative. Ray Keating explains why electric cars annoy the economist in him. Can you say “government subsidies and mandates”? Ray argues for private-sector innovation, and for ending government handouts for electric cars, for wind power and for solar power. Let entrepreneurs, businesses, workers and consumers call the shots, and if electric cars then make sense, that’s great.Tune in to Ray Keating’s other podcast Free Enterprise in Three Minutes Podcast.Below is the summer reading list with links to the Kindle editions (on sale!) and paperbacks at Amazon. In this episode, Lionhearts shows off his encyclopedic knowledge of professional wrestlers' personal lives. Pouch is Funaki's #1 fan. Milky doesn't know when to stop. Pouch here. I'm not sure how it happened, but this episode got way too niche. Pretty much only people who followed professional wrestling from the 80s onward will have any idea what we're talking about.
