Let's be honest, running a bar is one thing. Running a nightclub? That's a whole different game. In this episode, I'm joined by Connor Treacy, who co-founded Off Sunset, one of LA's most buzzed-about nightclubs. We talk through everything you don't see on Instagram what it really takes to keep a club relevant, why you're basically running a circus, and how a tiny 150-person room was pulling in $4 million a year. If you've ever been curious about nightlife, or even tempted to open a club yourself, you'll want to hear this. It's not all champagne and celebrities. There's ego management, legal landmines, and a surprising amount of hands-on hustle. Here's what we get into: Why nightclubs are way riskier and more intense than most barsHow Connor built buzz without flashy marketing or big budgetsWhat it's like dealing with high-maintenance guests, drama, and paparazziHow much money clubs actually make and what it takes to keep it goingWhy Connor made the leap from nightlife to pizza (and what he's eyeing next)Give it a listen—this one's honest, behind-the-scenes, and packed with takeaways for anyone in hospitality.Connect with Connor Treacy on Instagram: @theconnortreacyFind him on LinkedIn: Connor Treacy on LinkedInVisit his website: connortreacy.com Learn More:Schedule a Strategy SessionBar Business Nation Facebook GroupThe Bar Business Podcast WebsiteChris' Book 'How to Make Top-Shelf Profits in the Bar Business'Thank you to our show sponsors, SpotOn and Starfish. Boosting Youth Voter Turnout: Connor Treacy on Lean to the Left PodcastIn this episode of the Lean to the Left Podcast, host Bob Gatty interviews Connor Treacy, a California political organizer and former nightlife executive, about the low voter turnout among young people in the 2024 presidential election. Connor suggests that young voters shifted to Trump because of the participation of Elon Musk in his campaign, the use of conservative podcasts, and the popularity of UFC, which Trump strongly supports. Connor believes Democrats can learn from this and mix cultural events with political influencers to engage young voters and build a sense of community. He aims to merge music, culture, and politics in fun and informative events to mobilize and empower the next generation.Connor also shares his thoughts about potential Democratic candidates, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and offers insights into how the Democratic Party can recapture the youth vote by thinking outside the box. Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny 2-0 Presentation College, Athenry Roisin Foley (50), Emily Phelan (67) Two second half goals ensured Cup success for Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny over defending Champions Presentation College, Athenry in a sun-soaked Athlone Town AFC this afternoon (March 19). It's been some season for the Kilkenny kingpins as this victory confirmed a Cup double for the girls with their Senior crew capturing the National title five weeks ago in the same venue with six of the Junior squad involved in that showpiece. It was a case of taking their chances when they came with a sublime effort from Roisin FOLEY to open her account for Kilkenny with twenty minutes of the game remaining. Vice Captain Emily PHELAN made sure of the win three minutes from time when she saw her effort go in off the keeper. Kilkenny made the brighter start to the contest with Hannah Griffey forcing a brilliant save from Jane Brennan with 13 minutes on the clock. Towards the latter stages of the first half, it was Athenry that dominated most of the possession but just couldn't get the ball on target as the teams went in goalless at the break. Within four minutes, Kilkenny broke the deadlock with a superb set piece from Roisin FOLEY that sailed over the head of Brennan and into the top corner, leaving the Galway shot-stopper no chance. The Galway side had a great opportunity to draw level a few moments later when Niamh Kilgannon had a glancing header goal bound only for Isabelle Carroll to produce a top class save at the near post to deny the youngster. Noone, Duffy and McNamara had half chances blocked down with some solid defensive play from Presentation, Kilkenny. The killer blow for Athenry came three minutes from time when Emily PHELAN'S cross slipped through the hands of Brennan and in for Kilkenny's second of the afternoon. After the game, Presentation College manager Joe Finnerty spoke to Galway Bay FM's Mike Rafferty. == PRESENTATION SECONDARY SCHOOOL, KILKENNY | Isabelle Carroll, Anna Morrissey, Roisin Foley, Hannah Griffey, Maria Ryan, Ellie Barron, Kate Ryan, Olivia Dunphy ©, Emily Phelan ©, Meadhbh Doherty, Ellen Treacy SUBS USED | Kate Dalton for Treacy (46) Amy O'Shea for Barron (46).
