On this week's parsha, Parshat Ki Tavo, we discuss how to act when we enter the land of Israel. With all sorts of terrible things that can happen, what should we focus on? How should we act? As Sivan explains, one verse directs us: "Because you did not serve God with happiness and gladness of heart when you had an abundence of everything." We should pay attention to what we have. Thank God for what we are given. Appreciate the privilege in our lives. But how can we be happy after such a challenging year? How can we create happy Jewish futures? And what does this have to do with the famous Israeli singer Ishay Ribo? Tune in to find out. Sivan Rahav-Meir is a leading Israeli journalist, media personality and Torah scholar. There is a curious anomaly in Parshat Ki Tavo -- those who will adhere to God's Torah are promised to be "on the top," and also not "on the bottom." Why the repetition? Surely, if you're on top, then you won't be on the bottom! Rabbi Dunner cites an insightful interpretation by Rav Tzadok Hacohen of Lublin, which incidentally also provides a life hack for lottery winners.

Appreciation! Do we appreciate all the blessings we have? Are we verbalizing and expressing it enough? Parshat Ki Tavo has some insight!
In this conversation with Rabbanit Margot Botwinick we delve into the text and process of Bikurim and use them as a model for creating experiential educational moments. Our series on Devarim is titled, Dor Hemshech: Messages for a lifetime. Each episode explores Moshe's educational message for the Jewish people as they prepare to enter the land of Israel. Our week's guests are women who themselves have learned at Matan and are now passing these educational messages to next generation of Torah students.
