Haggai - Pastor Kurt Skelly - 8/27/2020 by Moses Lake Baptist Church
Are you stuck in your bubble? Do you realize the difference you can make? Are you willing to be used of God? In this passage, we see Mordecai, a man who stood for God when no one else would. We see Esther, one who even though she did not perceive the problem or receive the solution correctly, with the help of Mordecai was able to make a difference. In this last message for TNS 2020, Pastor Kurt Skelly challenges us to be difference makers in our present day. Sermon starts at 29:09
My wife Chelsea returns to Truthspresso to continue a series discussing abortion. We begin by talking about the tragedy of George Floyd's murder. We analyze the issue of "racism" and how the definition has changed over time to include political ideologies. From the standpoint of recognizing the battles that exist over the value of human lives, we examine the issue of the unborn. Chelsea presents the unfortunate statistics of abortions among various ethnicities. She then explains the medical methods of birth control and how many of them can cause abortions. I quote from Marget Sanger's articles and books that demonstrate her extreme views that are influenced by eugenics and are potentially "racist." Margaret Sanger wanted "birth control" as a means for the state to control the types of people who would be allowed to live. She also wanted to make birth control methods and abortions available for minorities to control their population. Unfortunately, Sanger is still successful in her goals for about a hundred years. Her Planned Parenthood organization is responsible for the deaths of millions of black lives by murdering the unborn. But don't these black lives matter? We contend that all lives matter, including the unborn. Chelsea holds a B.S. in Nursing from Regis University, a Masters in Nursing from Pensacola Christian College, and a post-Master's certificate in Certified Nurse Midwifery from the University of Colorado. She has worked as a pediatric nurse, has volunteered over eight years of work at crisis pregnancy centers in Colorado and Florida, and has delivered over 100 babies. Chelsea runs the website www.crmidwifery.com to offer her services. She is opening her own life-affirming clinic this year to serve women in the Denver Metro area. There are many different models of higher education. Within the Christian education realm, the large central university model has seemed to dominate the landscape. Though many colleges have adopted a serious online presence, few conservative Christian colleges have been able to break through that barrier and become known for that model of learning. Veritas Baptist College, formerly Virginia Baptist College, has ramped up it’s online presence specifically to allow its students to remain in local church ministry while they are working on their degree program. This intentionality is what sets them apart and is why we have Pastor Kurt Skelly as our guest today.
