Renee Airya This episode with Renee Airya is about accepting the range of our emotions and feeling comfortable with expressing them. We also talk about connecting to our truth, which comes up often on the podcast, but it's so important for us to create that internal channel of connection. I love how Renee invites us to feel into our truth to decide who we are and who we're not in the moment. And, we get to change that every moment. I tell my client's all the time, it's all about what we can do in the moment because as we grow and evolve, our truth will change- and that's OK. About Renee: Renee Airya is a former fashion model who has healed from three near death experiences, including massive brain surgery and facial paralysis. Her book, “Flip Your Flaws” is a compelling story of Renee's personal emotional, spiritual, and physical journey from paralyzation to liberation. She encourages everyone to step out of hiding by flipping their flaws and using them as a gateway for expressing their sincerity and most unique abilities. In this episode Renee shares: How we can learn to appreciate our flaws and change the story surrounding them. What happens when we assume other people have it together and we don't. How we can invite more creativity into our lives. What you'll hear: 11:12- How we can experience different emotions without negating them. 19:55- How we can understand ourselves on a deeper level. 23:00- The reason why it's so hard to connect to our truth. 36:00- How to set fierce boundaries with compassion. Today's guests are dear friends of mine and two of the most dynamic and creatively expressed people I know - Renee Airya and Akira Chan. I was especially excited to interview them together as they are both a couple, and co-founders of a production company. They live together, they work together, and they do an amazing job at maintaining their sovereignty. We talked a lot about creativity in this interview, from creative processes, to using creativity as a form of self-care, and how to communicate things to yourself through creativity. We covered rituals to be more creative, and explored the intersection between health, creativity AND productivity. We also got into identifying your "passion wheelhouse" and being a creative channel. This is definitely a "listen more than once" kind of episode. Enjoy! About Renee Airya and Akira Chan: Akira Chan & Renee Airya are the creative couple behind RARE Media & Creative Agency. RARE stands for Revolutionary, Artistic, Relevant & Enchanting. Tired of ugly media? RARE creates uncommonly captivating art, music videos, on-line program launches and documentaries. Bonus: They understand business and marketing! And enthusiastically captain a global production team that captures impactful stories and weaves them into visual productions that look good and amplify each client’s worthy message and mission. Their clients include Bulletproof, Chopra Center, Lifebook/Mindvalley and Artists for Addicts to name a few. RARE’s beginnings are rooted in Renee and Akira’s own RARE Love story, an odyssey that stems from their complimentary skill sets and the dance of masculine and feminine energy of the duo. They enhance each other’s creative and productive energy. Together, their dedication has set a purposeful foundation for their relationship, their life’s work and their individual expression. They hope to inspire other creative’s (and couples) who run businesses together. In this episode, Renee and Akira share: 1. Your life is not a deliverable 2. Creating from dis-ease or non-health 3. What mental health has to do with stability and creativity 4. Why focus, discipline, commitment and routine are MUCH sexier in practice than they sound in theory
