Today I am sharing the audio of a live panel I hosted in London at CrimeCon Uk. The panel consisted of me, Evidence Joel, and Jane Hunter.Evidence lost her son Richard Okorogheye in 2021. He went missing and the police response was so slow that by the time they found Richard, he had passed away. She is fighting for justice for Richard and for changes in the way that police handle missing person cases. Jane Hunter works for the charity Missing People, and they have compiled a report about police response and ethnicity in the UK. https://www.missingpeople.org.uk/Promo: The Survivor Squadlinktr.ee/trueconsequencesThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4347262/advertisement
Following us attending CrimeCon in London, where we attended many sessions, including one called The Colour of Missing, where we heard Evidence Joel talk about her 19 year old son Richard Okorogheye going missing and her subsequent fight to get the police to recognise that Richard was in fact a high risk missing person, not a low risk as they had categorised it, led us to the case of Saima Ahmed, who went missing in August 2015, and sadly her case very much mirrored Richard'sSOURCES:Please see our website for all source material and photos at https://scottishmurders.com/episodes/saimaahmed/ SHOW:Support Us: ko-fi.com/scottishmurdersPatreon - patreon.com/scottishmurdersMerch - teepublic.com/user/scottishmurdersWebsite - scottishmurders.comTwitter - @scottishmurdersInstagram - @scottishmurderspodcastFacebook - facebook.com/scottishmurdursYouTube - @ScottishMurdersLinktree - linktr.ee/scottishmurdersCREDITS:Scottish Murders is a production of https://www.cluarantonn.com/Hosted by Dawn YoungResearched, Written and Produced by Dawn YoungProduction Company Name by Granny RobertsonMUSIC:Dawn of the Fairies by Derek & Brandon FiechterScottish Murders is a proud member of the Darkcast Network..This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5530461/advertisement

And the figures on how many of them are black are alarming. In Film/TV: (30:16) Hank Azaria, most famous for his work on The Simpsons, has recently talked about the steps he's taken since ditching the role of Apu for the reasons of... You know. He's white. And it seems the steps he has taken so far have been not too bad.In the 2nd Life segment: (41:56) It has been 40 years since the Brixton "Riots" and from the oral retrospective of a few people that were there, we can draw parallels to what is going on now for young black Brits.Lastly, in Music: (56:19) The one-of-one DMX has passed. A life that was filled with demons in many forms and a willingness to share every single one of them with the world.Thank you for listening!
