A listener took note of how active Rob Pelinka was this summer and wondered whether it's fair to now wonder where that was with LeBron James and Anthony Davis while they were Lakers. Anthony thinks the lesson there is pretty obvious, then wraps with a few more questions from the live audience.

Anthony reacts to the Lu Dort trade, which sends him east to the Hawks -- and the impact that move has on the west. He also explains how this move hammers home a concern he had with the Lakers' intentions going into this summer. He wraps with a Q&A after discussing this trade's impact on Jonathan Kuminga.

Anthony has noticed a trend in some of his interactions, where the sense is he and everyone covering the team would criticize anything the Lakers do. He pushes back on that and explains where his concerns come from. He just doesn't see eye-to-eye with how Rob Pelinka views basketball as a sport. Still, even while he and others who cover the team may not love everything the Lakers have done, no one is rooting for them to fail, locally.

Rob Pelinka went on a spending spree on Wednesday, and in a span covering roughly half an hour, signed up free agents Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton, and Sandro Mamukelashvili. On top of it all, the Lakers traded for Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz for unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033 and first-round swaps in 2028 and 2030. Kessler has agreed to a four-year, $130 million deal. Mamu has agreed to a four-year, $52 million deal. Quentin Grimes has agreed to a four-year, $60 million contract, and Sexton a two-year, $19 million deal. So the question now gets asked: Where does this leave the Lakers in the Western Conference?
