There's some pretty serious shit going on in the world this week, so join Tori and Noah in some frivolous-feeling discussions about some stuff that doesn't suck. We're talking Shin Megami Tensei (shocker) news, Pokemon news and about the games we're loving right now (spoiler: it's mostly just Earthbound). THINGS REFERENCED: Brandon Sheffield on Twitter. Uppercut's Twitch page and Twitter. The trailer for Soul Hackers 2. This Polygon article about the upcoming Pokemon Presents stream. This potential scoop about new Avatar: The Last Airbender games. This Chrono Trigger/Cross video from Satchell Drakes (spoiler warning for both games). Into the Aether's videos about Super Auto Pets. Our cool sounds, and the intro and outro music are by GEIST and our show art is by Kai at Wisp Graphics. Welcome back heroes and heroines! We have returned after hiatus and ready to roll with all new episodes every week this month! This episode, Zack and Cody are joined by LA Jedi and green milk enthusiast, Alex Faciane! Together, the trio tackle the comic adaptation of what might possibly be the most controversial Star Wars film, "The Last Jedi". Do some of the more debated scenes translate better in comic format? Does the comic add more or have less context for certain characters? Is there reasoning behind things like sea-lion milk, droids full of gambling coins, and different expectations for villains? There's only one way to find out! Join us for a discussion about sci-fi, theme, mythology, and fandom as we dive into our first ever "Panel to Picture" review! When you're done listening, make SURE you check out Alex's Star Wars podcast, "Star Wars: New Canon Book Club" over at: https://soundcloud.com/starwarsbookclub Or make sure to check out his podcast NON-PROPHET, which is about life, the future, and maybe jet packs with co-host Satchell Drakes : https://www.flypaper.fm/shows Also, give Alex a shout-out on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/FacianeA (Tell him Zack and Cody sent you!) On this episode of Working File, which is actually the first one we ever recorded, we’re joined by Satchell Drakes and Jen Mussari to discuss being a designer in the public eye. How is being a famous designer different than being a famous dentist? Is one particular personality type or kind of design work rewarded by social media? Designer and web video producer Satchell Drakes is someone I've wanted to have on the show for quite a while. Satchell is probably best known for his YouTube channel Satchbag's Goods -- a collection of gorgeously produced and insightful videos on gaming, movies, music, and culture. We started off talking about the independent Internet space and how he got started with design and video and he walked me through his workflow and what a typical day is like for him as a designer. Satchell also shared the biggest compromise he's made that has attributed to his success. And of course, we talked about video games too! I think you'll really get a lot out of this interview, so press play and enjoy! Satchbag's Goods Satchell Drakes on Twitter Satchell Drakes on Instagram
