Season 4: Vicious Cycles starts on May 7th! This summer, the demigods of Mythik Quests have been challenged to take on ImpossibleQuests(TM)! What does that mean? Well... We're not quite sure yet. They're called things like "The New Labors of Hercules" or "The Hunt for the Lost Beast" -- and while some of those titles might seem like the point at a certain story, we know nothing's ever quite as it seems when it comes to a Quest. So, I'm going to do my best to prepare you with stories both familiar and strange! With these stories, we hope demigods everywhere will be ready to face down challenges of all kinds, whether you've found your way to a camp or not. So if you are at Camp Half-Blood, Camp Jupiter, Daring Girls, or Camp Mythik this summer, you'll need this information to prepare for the ImpossibleQuests – and if you're not at camp, you need it even more since you're out there as a solo hero. These things sound like they could drag in demigods and heroes from all over. So make sure you're subscribed! Episode One will be available to stream or download in two weeks, on May 7th, 2026! In the meantime, you can hear Shahrazad's messages and see the list of the season's Quests in the demigods-only portal on our website. Until then, stay brave, demigods!
If you're happy, try everything. Everything we tried to make us happy includes getting close to feet, seeming downhearted, reducing the cost of sleeping, refusing an apology, not wanting to get involved, assaulting a temple with powerful waves of pure hate, owing thanks to a bishop, suppressing Rykros information, receiving a free speedboat from our girlfriend, shipping a three way, embracing happiness, pretending to hate our idiot daughters, spending our youth in prison, and ripping off Sailor Moon. This is no time for niceties. 00:00:00 Becoming A Father 00:02:05 Intro 00:05:05 WORLD TOUR Esper Mansion 00:09:00 WORLD TOUR Jut 00:15:44 WORLD TOUR Motavia 00:17:01 Return to Gumbious Temple 00:27:01 Return to Motavia 00:30:39 Guild Quest: Stain in Life 00:32:28 Exploring Uzo 00:39:11 Jail Girls 00:49:39 Real Net 00:52:38 Outro Patreon: patreon.com/retroam Bluesky: @retrogradeamnesia.bsky.social YouTube: www.youtube.com/@RetrogradeAmnesia E-Mail: podcast@retrogradeamnesia.com Website: www.retrogradeamnesia.com
John and Craig flip the idea of motivation on its head and ask, what are your characters running from? Using examples across film and TV, they look at the psychological underpinnings of discomfort, and how to use avoidance as a driving force of character and story. We've also been away for a minute, so there's a lot to catch up on! We follow-up on where the heck we've been, locked pages, a Scottish rap duo, and a new scientific answer for whether one page of script really equals one minute of movie. We also answer listener questions on the afterlife of residuals and writing with a significant other. In our bonus segment for premium members, we go through their feedback on our first ever video podcast and announce our plans for the future of the show. You know what's an absolutely pesky kind of word to define in a dictionary? Colour names. A passel of lexicographers spent years - decades, even - trying different ways to describe colours in words for Webster's Third International Dictionary. It was such a huge, complicated effort that it took twelve years for former Merriam-Webster lexicographer Kory Stamper to write a book about it.Content note: this episode contains a couple of category B swears. There is also mention of puke - but, emetophobes, it's not the puke that you think.Visit theallusionist.org/hues for more information about the topics in this episode plus a transcript of the episode. Even when life looks settled on the surface, something inside us can feel unfinished. In this episode, we explore that enduring restlessness — the ancient pull toward quests, journeys, and meaningful adventure. Drawing on epic myths, sacred pilgrimages, and modern turning points, we unpack why the longing for “something more” persists long after survival and success are secured. What if this ache isn't dissatisfaction, but initiation? What if it's a signal that growth is calling you forward? Together, we'll explore how adventure functions as a psychological and spiritual rite of passage — not always across continents, but within the landscape of your own life. If you've felt the subtle tug beyond comfort and routine, this conversation will help you understand it, honor it, and move toward it with intention. Because sometimes the next great quest isn't out there. It's the one unfolding within you.

Life rarely changes all at once.More often, it shifts quietly. Our roles evolve, identities loosen, and the things that once defined you no longer quite fit.In this episode, we explore what happens when you find yourself asking: “Who am I now?” Whether through personal change, professional transitions, healing journeys, or moments of awakening that don't come with a clear roadmap.Together with our guest Dr. Katie T. Larson, Ph.D., a Hypnotherapist, Growth Coach, and Somatic Practitioner who works with Highly Sensitive People, Empaths, and Intuitives, this conversation weaves together lived experience, science, and spirituality to unpack how identity forms, why change can feel so destabilising, and how growth isn't about fixing yourself, but remembering who you are beneath the layers. You'll hear reflections on:Why change can feel uncomfortable even when it's necessaryThe difference between growth and constant self-improvementHow the body, mind, and nervous system respond to transitionLetting go of old labels, roles, and expectationsLearning to trust inner knowing during uncertain chaptersThis episode is an invitation to meet yourself where you are — not who you used to be, or who you think you should be — and to move through life's transitions with more compassion, curiosity, and trust.Dr. Katie T. Larson, Ph.D. is a Hypnotherapist, Growth Coach and Somatic Practitioner who works with Highly Sensitive People, Empaths, and Intuitives. Retention or loyalty on your roadmap? Happy to brainstorm → professorgame.com/chat We unpack the "tell the cab driver where to go" strategy, health quests, and the eight magic words that shift self-talk from guilt and shame to possibility and lasting change on this chat with Stamina Lab CEO Glen Lubbert. We discuss how to turn health and well-being into a game you can actually win. This week we have four listener questions answered by our lore experts Joe and Matt. First, they discuss the Ethereals and what their timeline is in relation to the timeline on Azeroth. Has this race existed for years, decades, milennia -- or something different entirely. They pivoted to the dragons and their aspects, and how choice figures in. Chromie, for one, clearly got some element of choice in how she appears in her bipedal form. How might other dragons choose, and how might new discoveries change what they choose? Is Alexstrasza going to become a Kul Tiran? Then, we pivot a third time to the old-school class quests like the Paladin's Charger questline and how they tied in to the class fantasy of the player, plus how they might be brought back in the future. Finally, we pivot once more, back to where we started, with Ethereals. This time you asked about Ve'nari and her secretive nature. The Ecodomes hardly seem nefarious or easily sabotaged -- why did she keep them a secret from us?You ask us questions and we luckily have some loremasters on hand to explain the answers. If it were just me you'd be listening to hold music while I frantically scanned through everything in our Warcraft in print guide looking for something approaching an answer. Hope you like the muzak version of Careless Whisper! If you enjoy the show, please support us on Patreon, where you can get these episodes early and ad-free! Hosted on Acast. What does it take to turn AEC's ‘impossible quests'—like coordination, data sharing, and upskilling—into victories? Every great innovation begins with a quest. Recorded live at Autodesk University 2025 in Nashville, this episode features Jessica Brams-Miller, Director of Design Technology at Hart Howerton, as she leads us through the epic adventure of solving AEC's toughest challenges — from the Point-Limit Basilisk to the Merge Hydra. Jessica shares how creativity, collaboration, and a “fellowship of leaders” mindset are helping firms turn roadblocks into victories. When teams share data instead of guarding it like the One Ring, innovation becomes a shared journey — not a solo climb.

Homeschool language arts… but make it magical. In this episode, Lisa chats with Joshua Davidson, creator of Night Zookeeper—a story-driven, gamified ELA program where kids invent creatures, build worlds, and level up writing, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and more. With real tutors, smart scaffolding, and a gentle, visually stunning interface, Night Zookeeper helps reluctant writers become confident storytellers—and gives fluent writers a global community to share their work. What you'll learn How creativity fuels literacy: kids design characters, then naturally want to write, revise, and share. Built-in scaffolding: age-appropriate prompts and supports progress from picture-choice sentences to full paragraphs and essays. Immediate feedback (from a penguin!): friendly, low-friction corrections keep momentum high. Safe, moderated community: every post is reviewed by humans; parent controls let you dial features up or down. Comprehensive ELA: reading, writing, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, poetry, persuasive and report writing—guided by quests or sandbox play. Tutor feedback: real people encourage, coach, and celebrate wins. Grows with your learner: ages ~5–11 with pathways for beginners and advanced storytellers. Cross-platform access: computers and tablets; iPhone available now, Android app coming. How Night Zookeeper works (quick tour) Create a character (unicorn-rainbow besties with a crisp packet named Bill? yes.). Tell the story with prompts that match skill level. Get feedback—from tutors, peers, and the professorial penguin. Build skills via gamified lessons and the new Quests mode (a structured route through the curriculum). Share & celebrate inside a fully moderated, kid-safe community. Safety & parental controls All student work is reviewed by human tutors before it's public. Feature controls for families (e.g., limit community features for younger children). Optional “bubble mode” if you want a solo experience. Pro tips from Joshua Create the first animal together. That one shared moment super-charges buy-in. Try the 7-day free trial, then (if you love it) consider the companion Night Zookeeper books for easy independent reading.
