In this episode, I'm joined again by my friend Tim Robison as we read and reflect on the poem “To Satch” by Samuel Washington Allen. What follows is an honest, free-flowing conversation about living with intention, making your own decisions, and figuring out what really matters. We touch on work-life balance, the search for joy, and doing the things you love — even when it's hard. We also wrestle with questions around success and failure: What does it mean to lose? What does it mean to win? Is one better than the other? And who gets to decide? This episode is about choosing a meaningful life — and the courage it takes to do so. To Satch Sometimes I feel like I will never stop Just go on forever Till one fine mornin I'm gonna reach up and grab me a handfulla stars Swing out my long lean leg And whip three hot strikes burnin down the heavens And look over a God and say How about that!!!! I'd love to hear what you have to say about the episode including thoughts on the poetry and the topics that were discussed. You can email me at poetdelayed@gmail.com.   Bringing with him his mission of helping pilots to be financially secure so they are prepared whenever the next unfortunate event happens, Satch, a former pilot, shares nuggets of wisdom about wholesaling that anyone can apply in their journey to financial freedom. Satch explained that getting traction involves volume and time. One has to do a strategy multiple times and for some time. He also talks about cold calling as a marketing technique, its four pillars, and more! So tune in to this episode of The Rent Roll Radio Show with your host, Sterling Chapman, to know more!   Outline of the episode…   Satch's mission How did he learn about wholesaling What is wholesaling Direct-to-seller marketing techniques The four pillars of cold calling Radio round   About Satch Bernhardt…   Satch Bernhardt is a former airline pilot for a U.S. carrier. In 2018 he began his career as a real estate investor by flipping houses. Unfortunately, in 2020 his airline shut down. Fortunately, he had already established himself in the real estate industry, with his business producing enough income for him. Still, he knew how many of his peers were really affected by this. This was a turning point in Satch's mission with real estate.   He realized how a pilot's life could change so quickly. But, unfortunately, in the airline industry, you don't carry over your longevity to another airline; you simply start at the bottom like everyone else.   Also, as a pilot, you can develop a medical condition that results in the inability to pass a first-class medical.    Airline pilot careers are very fragile.   This is why Satch started Bernhardt Capital to help all pilots get on the flight path to financial freedom through real estate.   Through Bernhardt Capital, pilots invest alongside him in large value-add multifamily deals across the sunbelt.   These types of investments require zero time and no real estate experience from the pilot. Simply invest and build up your cash flow and capital.   Imagine your life if you didn't have to do any of those trips you don't want to do. Simply drop them! Join Daniel Nickles and Satch Bernhardt as they talk about achieving financial freedom through real estate investment. When the pandemic hit, the world stopped literally. Air travels was halted to stop the spread of the virus. Many, especially in the airline business, lost their jobs. As a pilot, Satch also lost his job. But he already has a booming wholesale business which saved him from a financial crisis. This event opened his eyes to the reality that many of his peers are not ready should there be a sudden crisis that would cost them their job. It is now his passion through Bernhardt Capital to guide airline pilots and others who would want to take the runway to financial freedom.  Outline of the episode…  From airline pilot to investments  Satch and his wholesale business  On finding the right mentors  On finding the right team  Two important things to know when doing investment business  About Satch Bernhardt…  Satch is a former airline pilot for a U.S. carrier. In 2018 he began his career as a real estate investor by flipping houses. In 2020 his airline shut down. Fortunately, he had already established himself in the real estate industry with his business producing enough income for him but he knew that many of his peers were struggling financially. This was a turning point in Satch's mission with real estate.  He realized how a pilot's life can change so quickly.   This is why Satch started Bernhardt Capital to help all pilots get on the flight path to financial freedom through real estate.  Through Bernhardt Capital pilots invest alongside him in large value-add multifamily deals across the sunbelt region.  His goal is that you can generate enough cash flow to Live life at Pilot's discretion!    Get the copy of Satch's ebook here…  https://www.bernhardtcapital.net/

Plant friends, you probably know my brain broke a little bit last year when Dr Elle Barnes explained plant science and how the smells we know and love are actually something called VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, that plants use to communicate with each other. I had another mind-blowing experience as I researched my book Growing Joy and learned that scent and smell is one of the most powerful senses for memory and feeling. No wonder candles and essential oils are so popular! For this episode, our guest Chris Satch, a dear friend and Bloom and Grow's repeat guest, breaks down and dives under the surface to explain the what's and why's behind essential oils. Snake plants are completely underrated. These “low light-tolerant” plants are often thrown into dark corners, dusty offices, and bathrooms with no windows due to their notoriously hardy personalities, but there is so much more to this beautiful collection of plants than just their ability to survive. Their leaves come in the most mesmerizing shapes and I think they are one of the most giftable plants around because no matter who you are gifting, and what their lighting situation is, a snake plant will likely be able to handle it.
