Did you love the Great Plateau? Me too! I adore the beginning areas of most Zelda games so I want an opening area that's just as good as the Great Plateau in Tears of the Kingdom, so in this video I'll be taking a look at some potential ideas that could be used as the opening area in Breath of the Wild's sequel (Botw2/TOTK), such as caves or even the great plateau itself again, as long as it's a great opening area, much like other areas in the series like Skyloft, Ordon Village and other opening areas! This week Setzer talks the Halo Infinite beta as well as Mech Warrior Online, Cheston dishes on the latest Mario Golf as well as Plague Tale and Derek addresses whether Squidward Sword is worth a revisit. Spoiler: it is! In the news, the guys missed a bunch of stuff. They very briefly discuss the Activision Blizzard fiasco and also touch on the Steam Deck and the future utility of gaming devices. They call it the "third epoch." I guess that's one way to sound important. Intro theme: Skyloft from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Outro theme: You Go Girl 2020 from Disgaea 6. In this segment (from episode 81), Tim and Patrick and guest Mike Worby debate the Wii's swan song, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and whether or not the motion-controlled puzzle solving action upon and below Skyloft belongs in the discussion of the greatest Zelda adventures of all time.

We obvi talk about our crushes on Link, Zelda, and the other denizens of Skyloft, reflect on motion-control woes, unpack our complicated feelings about queer-coded villains, and plead for Nintendo to give us a remaster for this game's 10th anniversary! All that and more on another adventurous episode of Gay for Play!Find our guest Hannah on Instagram @hannahlberg and Twitter @hannahlberg!=================================FOLLOW GAY FOR PLAY!Twitter: @GayForPlayPodInstagram: @GayForPlayPodEMAIL US at gayforplaypodcast@gmail.comFIND US!Eric Solis:Instagram @eric_of_the_sunTwitter @eric_of_the_sunLaurence Turner-Cordova:Instagram @afroman76Twitter @afroman76 Intro and outro music by Connor Marsh (@connorjmarshmallow)Show art by Nick Adams (@stickartams)MUSIC THIS WEEK:"Ballad of the Goddess" by Hajime Wakai, Takeshi Hama"Skyloft" by Shiho Fujii"Romance in the Air" by Takeshi Hama

Thousands of years ago, demons burst forth from the earth to claim the Ultimate Power guarded by the Goddess. Her Grace gathered her followers and sent them skyward, far above the clouds, where they would be safe from the war raging on the surface. Today, the people of Skyloft know nothing but peace. On the 25th anniversary of the Knight Academy, several bright eyed students compete for the title of Champion, but not all of them compete fairly. This is the 16th canonical Zelda game, "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword", the earliest game in the timeline of The Legend of Zelda. We discuss shoujo manga, the economy of Skyloft, and Canon Zelink.
The time has come. The fate of Zelda, Groose, Impa, the Old Woman, all of Skyloft, all of the world now rests on Link's shoulders. Demise stands before us, but even he, with his careless disdain for human life, will not be able to stand against the combined might of the Triforce, the Master Sword, and Hylia's Chosen Hero. Sit down with your hosts, Shannon and Joe, as they play, discuss and theorize their way through Nintendo's Legend of Zelda video games in the timeline order noted in the Hyrule Historia. After a three-week hiatus, Dining with Dills is back! Jonathan and Chef Arthur from Skyloft guest, and they brought some amazing food for Peter and the crew to try. Peter has some trivia questions about apples and cocktails, and Leroy Gilford closes the show with Before 6.
This week we clean up a few sidequests in Skyloft before heading back below the clouds in pursuit of the first Sacred Flame. After visiting Batreaux and fetching an item for Dodo on Fun Fun Island we return back to Faron Woods. Link gains access to Farore's Silent Realm, which is a spooky alternate version of Faron Woods. While avoiding the terrifying and relentless Guardians, Link gathers the Sacred Tears and completes the first Trial. Gifted with the Water Dragon’s Scale Link is now able to access more areas of Faron Woods, leading to the discovery of a Hermit Kikwi known as Yerbal. Yerbal points Link to Lake Floria, where the Water Dragon Faron resides. In Lake Floria, Link meets a Parella called Jellyf who eventually leads him to the Dragon and one step closer to obtaining the first Sacred Flame! Sit down with your hosts, Shannon and Joe, as they play, discuss and theorize their way through Nintendo's Legend of Zelda video games in the timeline order noted in the Hyrule Historia. In this exposition heavy episode, Link finally faces off against the subject of his nightmares, managing to re-seal what we now know as The Imprisoned. Afterward, despite Link's great feat of heroism, the Old Woman informs him that his sacred sword just isn't quite up to snuff yet. We're pointed back to Skyloft to find information on the Three Sacred Flames, so that we may temper our sword and unlock its true power. What we learn leads us through the Thunderhead and to the Isle of Songs. Listen in as we struggle to play the Goddess Harp, politely smile at Fi's amateur rendition of the Ballad of the Goddess, and take yet another step on our road to securing Zelda's safety. And also maybe save the world or something. Sit down with your hosts, Shannon and Joe, as they play, discuss and theorize their way through Nintendo's Legend of Zelda video games in the timeline order noted in the Hyrule Historia. New episodes of Tandem Legends: a Legend of Zelda Podcast released every other week. More or less. http://www.tandemlegends.com/
On today's episode, Dining with Dills returns after a brief hiatus to bring you a live remote from Skyloft in Laguna Beach! Peter is trying food and talking with owner Jonathan and Chef Arthur about what makes Skyloft such a destination. Leroy Gilford and his long time friend Trisha finish up the show with a special live Before 6 segment.
Finally we are free of Skyloft! We triumphantly dive to the surface to find a desolate wasteland, covered in monsters unimaginable... wait. No. No it's actually not that bad. Sure there's a few Deku Babas. Some Bokoblins and such.. But there's also some weird cute bush creatures. And mysteries! And awesome music! I'm thinking the surface won't be so bad after all..
After Link successfully graduates from the Skyloft Knight Academy, Zelda is pulled beneath the clouds by a magical storm. Later, Link is lead inside the Hylia statue where he meets Fi and obtains the Goddess Sword. On today's episode of Dining with Dills, it's National Strawberries and Cream Day! Fittingly, Peter has a trivia question about fruit, and not-so-fittingly has a second trivia question about Sandra Bullock. Peter discusses reasons restaurants might need to temporarily close, Jonathan Moore and Chef Arthur Ortiz from Skyloft guest, and Leeroy Gilford with Before 6 closes the show.
