And he prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, is not this what I said when I was yet in my country? Jonah went out of the city and sat to the east of the city and made a booth for himself there. He sat under it in the shade, till he should see what would become of the city. 6 주 하나님이 박 넝쿨을 마련하셨다. 주님께서는, 그것이 자라올라 요나의 머리 위에 그늘이 지게 하여, 그를 편안하게 해주셨다. 박 넝쿨 때문에 요나는 기분이 무척 좋았다. Now the Lord God appointed a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to save him from his discomfort. "네가 수고하지도 않았고, 네가 키운 것도 아니며, 그저 하룻밤 사이에 자라났다가 하룻밤 사이에 죽어 버린 이 식물을 네가 그처럼 아까워하는데, And the Lord said, “You pity the plant, for which you did not labor, nor did you make it grow, which came into being in a night and perished in a night. 11 하물며 좌우를 가릴 줄 모르는 사람들이 십이만 명도 더 되고 짐승들도 수없이 많은 이 큰 성읍 니느웨를, 어찌 내가 아끼지 않겠느냐?" And should not I pity Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know their right hand from their left, and also much cattle?”

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10 그래서 내가 명을 받은 대로 대언하였더니, 생기가 그들 속으로 들어갔고, 그래서 그들이 곧 살아나 제 발로 일어나서 서는데, 엄청나게 큰 군대였다. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. 11 그 때에 그가 내게 말씀하셨다. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13 내 백성아, 내가 너희의 무덤을 열고 그 무덤 속에서 너희를 이끌어 낼 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14 내가 내 영을 너희 속에 두어서 너희가 살 수 있게 하고, 너희를 너희의 땅에 데려다가 놓겠으니, 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 나 주가 말하고 그대로 이룬 줄을 알 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.'" The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 그러자 이세벨은 엘리야에게 심부름꾼을 보내어 말하였다. I gave you a land on which you had not labored and cities that you had not built, and you dwell in them. Whenever the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge, and he saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, 2 "나의 종 모세가 죽었으니, 이제 너는 이스라엘 자손 곧 모든 백성과 함께 일어나, 요단 강을 건너서, 내가 그들에게 주는 땅으로 가거라. “Moses my servant is dead. From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. 5 그래서 백성들은 하나님과 모세를 원망하였다. "어찌하여 우리를 이집트에서 데리고 나왔습니까? 이 광야에서 우리를 죽이려고 합니까? 먹을 것도 없습니다. 마실 것도 없습니다. 이 보잘것없는 음식은 이제 진저리가 납니다." And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? On the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony. And at evening it was over the tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning. 16 그것은 늘 그러하였다. 구름이 성막을 덮고 있었으며, 밤에는 그 구름이 불처럼 보였다.
