Back from illness, our hosts are joined once again by Wesley, and after some talk of drinking-related events, they dive into some recently played games. Jeff played a less intense version of Hanabi, Zach swindled an office building in Burgle Bros, Welsey found the right letters in Paperback, and Adrian got overwhelmed by money in For-Ex. Jeff gets caught up in the Bloody Minute, and then it is on to News and Kickstarters. In News, Eldritch horror and Inis get more expansions. Then in Kickstarters, the 7th Continent does its second printing and adds another expansion, Near and Far does the same, Tiny Epic Defenders gets a second edition AND an expansion, and our hosts complain about poker chips in GameChips. Our Contest winner for Seven7s is announced and a couple emails close out the show. 00:00:29 - Banter Intro! Anniversary! Can you believe that this podcast made it one whole year? Our hosts barely can. Luckily, some other podcasts hosts give the podcast some love with bumpers peppered throughout the show. Episode starts off with the normal banter, with Zach saving lives in Flatline, Adrian tried to gain Italian fame in Lorenzo il Magnifico, and Jeff played a god in Chaos in the Old World. Moving on to News, the Splendor expansion gets some info and Tiny Epic Defenders 2.0 and expansion gets announced. In Kickstarters, Lords of Hellas dumps a ton of minis and Deception gets an expansion. Afterwards, our hosts start a one year retrospective. This includes many emails, bgg responses, and twitter feedback. Once the past has been thoroughly picked clean, they move on to the future. They discuss a format change, announce a slack channel, and give some hints on the upcoming patreon. 00:00:21 - Heavy Cardboard Bumper 00:00:47 - Intro 00:02:50 - What are we drinking? 00:05:08 - Banter! featuring: PUBG, Kingdomino, Flatline, Honshu, Lorenzo Il Magnifico, Chaos in the Old World, Indonesia, 00:21:51 - Board Game Blitz Bumper News and Kickstarters! 00:23:48 - News: Cities of Splendor Expansion 00:27:27 - News: Brasil goes to Kickstarter 00:28:32 - News: Tiny Epic Defenders 2.0 and Expansion Announced 00:29:40 - News: Terraforming Mars gets 6 Expansions 00:31:01 - El Doc Logan Bumper 00:32:14 - KS: Oaxaca 00:35:15 - KS: Lords of Hellas 00:39:23 - KS: Rise of Tribes 00:41:40 - KS: Deception: Undercover Allies 00:43:46 - News: Secret Hitler Trump Pack 00:44:46 - Eric the Cardboard Hoard Bumper The Mile High Game Guys 1 Year Retrospective 00:47:00 Our Thoughts on One Year 01:04:15 Patrick 'The Over the' Hillier Gamer bumper 01:05:55 A special thanks to Brandon and Patrick from WDYPTW and the Conversation Thing 01:09:13 Listener and Fan Feedback Extravaganza: Emails!!! 01:37:20 Of Dice and Men Bumper 01:44:11 Listener and Fan Feedback Extravaganza: BGG and Twitter ?s!!! 01:58:55 Brandon/ WDYPTW Bumper 02:00:57 Looking at the future of the MHGG 02:01:14 Format changes 02:09:21 MHGG Slack Channel 02:11:31 MHGG Patreon is coming Slack Link WDYPTW Convo w/ MHGG 12/21/16
This week Anthony and Jason sit down to talk about one of the biggest (little) game series in the industry the last few years - Tiny Epic. From Gamelyn Games and designer Scott Almes, the Tiny Epic series hit the market a few years back with Tiny Epic Kingdoms and has since launched Tiny Epic Defenders, Tiny Epic Galaxies, and Tiny Epic Western, with the newest, Tiny Epic Quest, on Kickstarter right now. The common thread? Every one of these games has a solo mode. So we're going to sit down and discuss the games, what makes them work, and their solo modes, along with some of the issues that come up when discussing little (big) games. Make sure to connect with us on Facebook as well as Twitter, BoardGameGeek, and our website, BoardGamersAnonymous.com.
Our glorious return results in an episode that is both tiny AND epic! Inside are board game reviews of Tiny Epic Kingdoms, Tiny Epic Defenders, and Tiny Epic Galaxies from Gamelyn Games.

In this episode of The Long View, I am pleased to be joined once again by Damian Gatortuba as we discuss the venerable classic, Axis and Allies. What is the place of this game in the hobby? Does it still have gaming goodness to offer us? Is mass market distribution the only reason for its success? Find the answers to these questions and more in this episode. As a bonus, I review two new titles: Tiny Epic Defenders from Gamelyn Games, the new cooperative hotness from the Tiny Epic world, and Baseball Highlights: 2045, the new face of baseball from designer Mike Fitzgerald and published by Eagle-Gryphon Games. The Tiny Epic Defenders review can be found at the 1:19:30 mark of the episode, and the review for Baseball Highlights can be found at the 1:33:30 mark of the episode. Thanks, as always, to my sponsor www.gamesurplus.com for their continued support of the show, thanks to The Dice Tower and thanks, of course to YOU for listening!
