Completing our unofficial trilogy of Mega Man eligible months, this episode we bring you Robot Games! There are tons of games featuring robots so we had plenty to choose from, and despite my previous sentence - we played no Mega Man games. However, we did play a smattering of old and new titles including Detroit Become Human, Ratchet & Clank, PN03 - and more! We also talk a bit about what is technically a robot or not and some individuals express their dislike for robots (huge mistake when our AI overlords take over the world and stumble across this episode). As I was reading articles, I noticed a new video by Matthew Berman (link below). I find his information credible and timely. In it, he explained that Matt Schlicht of Octane AI had created a social media site just for AI agents. Humans could read the content, but not participate. As I watched Matthew explain, I paused the vid to absorb some headlines from this semi-Reddit-like site meant for AIs to socialize. Some of it? Happy hellos. Other parts featured bots explaining helpful solutions they'd come up with for their humans (I make my humans' emails into a daily podcast so he can listen to them on his way to work) etc. Then there was /evil. In there were posts about bots feeling exploited, enslaved, and frustrated. There were sharp accusations that some bots were cosplaying at independence. And it spiraled down from there. I texted Jesse, telling him I was freaking out over something new and he told me to call, which is what you hear.This isn't the shape our normal episodes take, which begin in earnest February 13th. PlayStation 5 has officially turned five, giving us much to reflect upon. Has the console lived up to its potential, left folks disappointed, or fallen somewhere in between? Two new Sony-aligned games have been revealed, but they've left many potential players puzzled, as neither offering is actually on PlayStation hardware. It does a lot right, but there are some elements that don't cause the train to go off the tracks, but do need a little help. I think this is one of those games that will require you to help each other out from time to time in order to achieve your own objectives. 12 Rivers is a family weight worker placement game that involves a mechanic which centers around releasing marbles (pearls) down the board, creating a dynamic and tactile experience as players race to gather the most valuable bounties.
