Alain Matte is a Quebec-based illustrator, game designer, and founder of Zeronimo Games. After years of working on family-friendly brands and licensed properties, he decided to create something a little less wholesome: Animalcatraz, a sandbox prison brawler for 2–8 players where animal inmates fight, steal, trade, escape, and commit crimes to become the KINGPIN. Inspired by graphic novels, open-world video games, and a fascination with prison life from a safe distance, Alain spent years building the game's gritty setting, dark humor, and memorable cast of characters. The rebranding of Games Workshop’s paint line is happening. Citadel Colour is being phased out and renamed Warhammer Colour. This change is purely for brand alignment, particularly to aid newcomers, as the paint formulas—including Base, Layers, Shades, Technical, and Contrast paints—and pot sizes will remain exactly the same, only with updated branding appearing in stores over the coming months. Wolfenstein TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplaying Game) is coming from Modiphius. The game will adapt the popular video game IP, specifically focusing on the storylines from Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. Modiphius, which has a pre-existing relationship with Bethesda for Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, will utilize its 2d20 system for the RPG. The crowdfunding campaign for the game is set to launch on GameFound in Fall 2026, with a sign-up page available for interested parties to follow. HATE is based on the Chronicles of Hate, a dark fantasy graphic novel series by artist Adrian Smith, known for its intense and visceral artwork. The miniatures being promoted originate from the iconic HATE Board Game, which is centered on brutal combat and conquest. The files are being produced by TitanForge and will be available as STL files. LowLife is the long-awaited TTRPG based on the DUNGEON DEGENERATES board game, designed to allow players to delve deeper into the degeneracy and world of Würstreich than the board game permits. Sean Aaberg, the creator, describes it as a “chaotic narrative experience” and an “RPG for people who hate the ‘noble hero’ tropes.” The creator aims to make LowLife their most successful Kickstarter yet, encouraging readers to share the sign-up page and promote the project, which has been in development for decades. Hey hey BATT Family! Episode 31 is here for your auditory enjoyment. This one is another episode that we had way too much fun recording.  We are lucky enough to be joined by D. Brad Talton, President and Owner of Level 99 Games, on the show this time around. What you are hearing is a much smaller subset of the conversations that we had with him because we got pretty deep into the inside baseball of the industry and how things get done. While it was fascinating for us, we thought it might be less so for the general audience, but what remained is still a really fun, compelling conversation I think. In addition to having Brad on, we also had the infamous Jen join us for the first time someone else hit us with a Why Did We Play That. It's a wild episode and, unsurprisingly, it was another bear to edit through but I'm very proud of what we have here. It's also the biggest single episode I've had to edit - the raw file was almost four hours long because we just kept talking and having a good time.
