Are robots taking over? Probably. Are you in imminent danger? Probably not. How bad will it get? That remains to be seen. This week we will discuss how much of your life you should turn over to a machine; how just following directions poses problems for both robots and humans; whether you should trust a TV spokesperson to sell you robot insurance; and how to put tech to work fixing up your underwater habitat and/or your real life.Hal Hammons serves as preacher and shepherd for the Lakewoods Drive church of Christ in Georgetown, Texas. For all the kindergarten teachers out there who are annoyed with me already, stick with me; I will get to you in a minute. The fact is, stupidity exists. And it's not tough to prove it.This week we will discuss the things the Bible calls stupid; the behavior that makes you stupid, at least in the eyes of one author; the confusion over what is and is not a “cuss word”; and my weird obsession with playing games I don't understand. This week Julius and I talk about the dice game OctoDice. This is a small roll-n-write set in the AquaSphere universe. AquaSphere is a game by designer Stephan Feld, who is known for making point salad games. Just about everything you do, you get points. This game, by Christoph Toussaint is also a point salad game. It's light and fun for me, but Julius finds it much less satisfying. Find out why! OctoDice (BGG) AquaSphere (BGG)

In this 9th episode of the HEX&CUBE podcast, Kyle tries to convince himself that the show is actually better without any co-hosts or guests, which is of course....wrong. He also talks a little about AquaSphere and Bus, and shares his thoughts on mechanisms and theme. Mostly mechanisms. Theme is useless. All games should just be abstract games with black and white numbers and shapes on some cardboard.*Link to discussion.* (Right click and open in new window)Sign up for our newsletter! This week we’re taking a deep dive into remote gaming. How do you play with real components against your friends from afar in this age of social distancing? Let's take a closer look at three steps to get you there. But first, we discuss our question of the week: What's a game that gets better with one minor change? In acquisition disorders this week Anthony looks at the new expansions for Tokyo Metro and Tokyo Tsukiji from Draper Games, while Chris digs into Catapult Kingdoms - both games on Kickstarter now. At the table this week, Anthony reviews The Liberation of Rietburg, a new Legends of Andor coop spinoff and Chris revisits Aquasphere, a classic Stefan Feld game that made it back to the table recently. Finally, in the feature, Anthony and Chris share their three steps for choosing, setting up and playing a game remotely over Skype, Facetime or Zoom on your personal devices. In our one hundred and twenty-eighth episode, Aaron is all alone because of social distancing so he talks about some ways he's been enjoying gaming from home and he reflects on our review of Aquasphere from 100 episodes ago. Linsae also joins Aaron to talk about playing RPGs in the age of social isolation. Then Aaron reviews the cooperative super hero living card game Marvel Champions.
Today we feature Tony's ongoing segment, Raging for Blood, then we review another viking game, Raiders of the North Sea. Then the gang looks back at Aquasphere from Stefan Feld. Tony T gives Blood Rage a rest for a few minutes to give you the gaming news. Then the show is rounded off with a Short Topic Extravaganza.

Ile w nowej grze Pana Sztefana klimatu a ile abstrakcyjnej mechaniki i zbierania drobnych punktów w każdy możliwy sposób? Wystarczy kliknąć i posłuchać żeby się przekonać. Przy okazji czemu […]
