Tropical Storm Claudette was the first tropical system to make landfall in the U.S. this season and the first deadly storm of the season. Today's podcast looks back at Claudette's path and the unfortunate damage it caused.
Clarke County got by Tropical Storm Claudette pretty easily but that wasn't the case for other parts of Alabama. Fourteen deaths have been linked to the storm statewide, including 10 in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 near Greenville that was blamed on a rain-slickened highway. A tornado caused significant damage in Brewton, East Brewton and other parts of Escambia and Conecuh counties.
