The vibes are high after a 2-0 week that saw the Seahawks largely dominate wins over ECU and Radford. This team's personality is starting to show, and damn, do we love it. They're connected in a way we haven't seen recently, and that is becoming very clear with ball movement and defensive communication. In all, we touch on Gavin Walsh getting comfortable in his role, Christian May finding a rhythm as a two-way player, Makoi's major leap forward, and a character-building win on the road over the Highlanders. Plus, a look ahead to the six games at Trask Coliseum this week as Navy, Southeast Louisiana, and Gardner-Webb come to town. We close it out with a look around the CAA, where Towson got a couple of much-needed wins for the league.

This episode of Husker Heat covered Nebraska softball's journey to the Baton Rouge regional, their recent Big Ten Tournament performance, and the challenges ahead. Host Andy Ketterson, joined by his daughter Miley—who just got engaged—discussed Nebraska's strong season (39–13), including their dominant win over Penn State and a tough loss to UCLA. The team, led by ace pitcher Jordy Bahl, faces a double-elimination regional with LSU, UConn, and Southeast Louisiana. The discussion emphasized Nebraska's reliance on Bahl, concerns about backup pitching depth, and strategic decisions coach Rhonda Revelle must make. The hosts recapped the selection show experience, praising the transparency of the committee and comparing it favorably to the College Football Playoff's chaotic history. He also analyzed RPI data, quadrant records, and strength of schedule to show Nebraska's fair placement. Off the field, the show featured humor, food talk, and shoutouts to standout players like Hannah Camenzind. The episode wrapped with travel plans, Baton Rouge dining recommendations, and friendly banter. With postseason hopes hinging on smart rotation and timely hitting, Nebraska looks to break a streak and advance beyond regionals for the first time in years. GBR—and maybe GEAUX Big Red this time.

Tracy sits down with author/illustrator duo Britt Gondolfi and Amanda Romanick to discuss their timely, poetic, beautifully illustrated picture book "Look Up! Fontaine the Pigeon Starts a Revolution," Published by Paw Prints. Fontaine the Pigeon is a small bird with a big mission: to get people to look away from their phones and admire the world around them. This picture book packs a powerful message with some seriously beautiful artwork. The revolution begins on April 30th! About the Britt & Amanda: Britt Gondolfi, born and raised in Southeast Louisiana, is a children's book author, community organizer, and mother. Since 2017, Britt has worked with the Bioneers Intercultural Conversation Program, facilitating programming for Atlanta, Bogalusa, and Houma students. While in law school, Britt supported the Bioneers Rights of Nature initiative by researching the intersection of tribal sovereignty and Federal Indian law, facilitating workshops on the Rights of Nature at the Ho-Chunk and Mashpee Wampanoag nations. Her first Children's book, "Look Up! Fontaine the Pigeon Starts a Revolution," is a hilarious social commentary on digital distraction and Nature's fight to save us from ourselves. Amanda Romanick is a multidisciplinary artist whose passion and education for craft began at the age of 5 when she was hand-selected for the Talented Arts Program in her hometown parish. She focused heavily on creative education and outlets like drawing and painting. She graduated with honors from Savannah College of Art and Design, where she concentrated on illustration and sequential art. Amanda is also a mom of a young child and felt the need to create a more balanced relationship between the natural world and screen use. Britt and Amanda are close friends, and so are their seven-year-old children, Sofia and Scout. This is their first published book. The book comes out with Paw Prints Publishing, an imprint of Baker & Taylor, April 30th 2024. You can get it everywhere books are sold or you can get it directly from the artists at www.fontainethepigeon.com.

Your spiritual life? What is your "favorite" saint - and why?How do you engage in creativity as a spiritual practice? Kristen is a modern iconographer, fine art painter, creative photographer, inspired writer, vivid storyteller, and world explorer.  From Kristen:  "My soul is stirred by the colorful and dark creation around and within us and I'm influenced by equal parts pain and joy. Studying theology and the saints are my passion and I love nothing more than sharing that passion with others by teaching, preaching, and leading creative-based workshops and retreats. I'm a deeply spiritual individual with friends and family of every spectrum of belief and non-belief. I believe that if you are a good person to yourself and others, the rest of the details are lagniappe (as we say in Louisiana). I believe my only job as a Christian person is to be the best example of Jesus' love I know how to be. I live and love in Southeast Louisiana with my husband, Basset Hound, overly affectionate kitty, and massive collection of house plants, all of which keep me of sound mind and body."Kristen's Websites:moderniconographer.comkristenannwheeler.comTara invites you to join her online discussion group this Lent. We're excited to have Chad Adams on the podcast to discuss his novel, How to Walk on a Marsh. “On his first ever hunting excursion as a young boy, James takes an uncalculated step in the delicate South Louisiana marsh that becomes the catalyst for a metaphor used by his dad which foreshadows his life: there's an art to navigating the marshland, and the steps you take while on your journey can cause you to either sink or swim. Through their many adventures together, James' dad helps him to recognize and learn that with a respect and appreciation for the outdoors, important lessons can be found, and an unwavering bond woven full of love and admiration between father and son can be had.” “Born and raised in Southeast Louisiana, Chad Adams has a love for the outdoors that dates back to early childhood fishing trips with his dad along the state's beautiful gulf coast.
