We try to understand what this special carnival is, what's its nature? It is not your regular down and out collection of rides and crooked, rigged carnival games. One way of looking at it is by comparing it to Plato's Theory of Ideas. We also take a look at the real world inspiration that lead me towards the idea that the carnival would be a fertile place for our mythopoetic seeds to grow. I had the great joy of catching up in The Garden of Unearthly Delights with one of Australia's best young comedians and former Triple J breakfast show co-host, Tom Ballard. Sara has been a poet, and an essayist, and is the author of a non-fiction study of America’s long love affair with true crime. Currently she teaches hair-raising stuff about contemporary attitudes to death and the representation of violence at Western Sydney University. Sometimes—not nearly enough—she writes true stories for a blog called What I didn’t Write. Blues performer Mike 'Dr Blues' McKeon is coming all the way to Adelaide from the UK to busk, perform at variety shows and on the BankSA stage at the Garden of Unearthly Delights during the 2015 Adelaide Fringe. This isn't the first time we've spoken to Mike, and it's great to catch up with the man who's blues come from deep within his musical heart.

Late at night, for one night only, in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, Adelaide will play host to the 2012 Eurowision Song Contest. The brainchild of Carla Conlin, the show will feature some big names representing different European countries (and Australia, of course..). We spoke to Carla for a glimpse as to who we can expect on the bill.
