What You Need to Know is the power of the partnership! This impeachment is a sham and a continued effort by the narrative machine. The narrative machine is made up of Big Tech, Big Media, and the Leftist Big Government. They are united to create a narrative that is dividing and destroying America. They say you must believe the election was totally free and fair. If you don't believe that then you're seditious and are a part of the terrible set of factors that led to an insurrection. We've never had this much power working together to force an ideology on us that will crush and divide our country! Kimberly Hermann, general counsel for Southeastern Legal Foundation and writer, shares her article “5 ways the Biden administration will infringe on your First Amendment rights.” College students are dealing with hate speech bans on their campuses, but hate speech is so ambiguous these days. Kimberly works with students to help them understand their first amendment rights.  Star Parker, founder, and president of CURE, explains Biden's Anti-Unity Agenda. Star talks about the many executive orders that President Biden signed in the first three weeks of his presidency and how legislating is the job of congress not the job of the executive branch. For more information on her work, go to UrbanCURE.org.  What You Need to Do is follow Julie Kelly! She is the narrative machine slayer and does a great job getting the truth out in her articles like her most recent one — What Happened to Officer Brian Sicknick? In my first segment, I talk with Star Parker, who hung out with me at the Oregon Freedom Fest to talk about her organization, The Center for Urban Renewal and Education. Star is a natural story teller and a very engaging guest. She talked frankly about her life prior to Christian conversion in which she used abortion like birth control, and her life after her conversion. She got a degree, she opened a business, she lost that business in the 1992 riots in LA, and she became a fierce advocate for welfare reform. She tells of the security threats she's faced for daring to challenge the liberal orthodoxy, she describes converting inner city pastors to free market ideals, she talks about biblical property rights, and she works tirelessly to eradicate the victimhood mentality. You can find Star on Twitter at @UrbanCure, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/UrbanCURE, and on the web at urbancure.org. For my second segment, I sat down with Jonathan Lockwood, Oregon's bomb-throwing Republican communications strategist. He pushes back on the idea that telling the truth is akin to throwing bombs, and addresses the controversy surrounding the press release last week by his boss, Senator Dennis Linthicum, which used the death of Eric Garner to argue against new cigarette taxes in Oregon. We discuss messaging, strategy, and how Republicans can reach voters in blue Oregon. We also discuss all the horrible laws coming to Oregon courtesy of the Democratic supermajorities in both houses of the legislature. You can follow Jonathan on his unapologetic Twitter feed at @JNTHN_LCKWD. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/behindthecurtain/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/behindthecurtain/support

Whose job is it to take care of the needy: the government, or the church? In this episode Kevin talks with national black conservative leader Star Parker. Parker is the founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), a think-tank devoted to creating market-based solutions to fight poverty. She has spoken on more than 190 college and university campuses about anti-poverty initiatives. In addition to these qualifications, she is intimately acquainted with the issues of poverty and welfare from experience: Star spent seven years of her life in and out of welfare dependency. How did Star overcome her disadvantaged situation? It turns out that the welfare system only caused her to remain dependent, and prevented her from working for fear that she would lose all of her support. It wasn’t until she became involved in a church, which encouraged her to entrust her needs to God and release herself from the welfare system, that she was able to rise out of poverty. To this day, Star believes that it is the church and not the government that can truly help the poor. Government welfare is one-size-fits-all, but every impoverished person and family has different needs that only individual attention can address. Kevin and Star discuss a variety of topics in a search for real solutions to this tough issue. Go to UrbanCure.org to see what Star and her organization are doing to address current social issues. This episode first aired on June 21st, 2015. We make video lessons to raise up confident Christians: https://educateforlife.org/
