Today on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we revisit our November 2018 interview with Lower East Side rapper Tru Life, one of the realest, most harrowing, most compelling and inspiring conversations we've ever had. Tru details his tough early years in New York City's Lower East Side, how he decided school wasn't for him, how music led to recording sessions at Mark and Donnie Wahlberg's studio, connecting with Snoop Dogg, and how Ving Rhames looked out strictly because he believed in Tru Life's talents. We discuss the DVD era and how the drama undermined an artist's talents, how Sickamore brought out the best in Tru's abilities, how Green Lantern called up Jay-Z and convinced him to not fly out of town and instead take a meeting with Tru Life, how Jay refused to let Tru leave the office until he signed a deal with Roc La Familia, and how Cipha Sounds started off as Tru's A&R, but became as close as blood brothers. Tru gets into his time away, the weight of facing a life sentence, figuring out whether loyalty and codes really meant anything, the tears he shed over not seeing his kids grow up, why he dedicated himself to his studies, and what ultimately got him through his eight years behind bars. We get into the realities of going from the system to freedom, how he wasn't ready for the trappings of the music industry upon his release, how he's grown over the past two years, moving to the suburbs, and what he's bringing to the table with his new music. All that, plus stories about Jay, Beyonce, TI, Future, Bobby Shmurda, Tory Lanez, Jim Jones, the inmates who broke out of Clinton Correctional Facility while he was there, and so much more! Welcome back #DaRundown South Podcast. This week we are joined by Keith Nelson Jr. once again to break down some big-picture topics.04:13 Nicki Minaj MisstepsDarling Nicki, where are we today? Nicki Minaj has been the face of female Hip-Hop for the 10 years or so. Her new album, Queen, drops in the shadow of the recently minted Cardi B. With sales that are pretty good for most, do not live up to the Barbie's standard. Add that to low ticket sales of a"postponed" North American tour and we could be seeing someone who's very frustrated with the new streaming era metrics. It's not a stretch to say she is taking her frustration out on Travis Scott and his family. Kylie Jenner seemed nothing more than show some support to her massive following of zombies. Using paper thin arguments on Twitter and Queen Radio Minaj is showing some real insecurity about her position in the game today. It could be some karma get back for not wanting to support the elevation of other female artists.http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/la-et-ms-nicki-minaj-queen-album-tour-20180824-story.html29:21 The Hip-Hop Union PartyIs Hip-Hop big enough to start a union? Busta Rhymes seems to think so. A subject Keith Nelson Jr. recently brought up to the legendary rapper in a recent interview.  The socialist idea of having a collectively bargained salaryhttp://hiphop-n-more.com/2018/07/exclusive-busta-rhymes-new-album-done-hip-hop-should-form-union/52:23 S#!t That I Missed: Tru Life  signs with Future's FreebandzTru Life is a rapper from yesteryear and used to be signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella imprint. He may be more infamous for his beef but being good enough to sign before. Now he is made post-prison stint to sign with Future's Freebandz label. It's a footnote amongst the trending topics of September 2017  In other day and times this would have been a story that would have taken some time to investigate the long-term play and possibility of starting a trend. None of these were explored by major outlets which may be a result of a lack in present-day lexicon or it could be the victim of the Twitter/social media tail eating news stream that deals much more commerce than journalism.

It could be some karma get back for not wanting to support the elevation of other female artists. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/la-et-ms-nicki-minaj-queen-album-tour-20180824-story.html 29:21 The Hip-Hop Union Party Is Hip-Hop big enough to start a union? Busta Rhymes seems to think so. A subject Keith Nelson Jr. recently brought up to the legendary rapper in a recent interview.  The socialist idea of having a collectively bargained salary http://hiphop-n-more.com/2018/07/exclusive-busta-rhymes-new-album-done-hip-hop-should-form-union/ 52:23 S#!t That I Missed: Tru Life  signs with Future's Freebandz Tru Life is a rapper from yesteryear and used to be signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella imprint.

One of our guests today is Laura Farrar from The Covering House in St. Louis.  The Covering House is a Christian ministry that specifically aids in helping victims of sex trafficking escape and find refuge away from their traffickers.  It is often a ministry fraught with danger, and Laura will help us understand what women and victims need the most in fighting this exploitation and devaluing of women. Also, the parents of a missing woman named Phoenix Coldon will be our guests today as they discuss the circumstances of her disappearance.  Lawrence and Goldia Coldon share with us their suspicions that their daughter, who was in college at the time she disappeared, is a kidnapping victim who is possibly being trafficked presently.  They ask the public's help in recovering their daughter and restoring their family.  You can find more information on their search on their facebook page, Missing Phoenix Coldon.

Ryan has a rather unique perspective of the innate nature of Purpose.  His biological mother was raped yet courageously chose to continue the pregnancy, giving him Life. He was adopted as a baby and grew up in a loving, multi-racial Christian family of 15. With siblings of varying ethnicities, he grew up with a great appreciation for diversity. Ten of the thirteen children were adopted in this remarkable family. His life defies the myth of the “unwanted” child as he was adopted, loved and has flourished. Today, he is an Emmy® Award-winning Creative Professional who founded The Radiance Foundation (TRF), a life-affirming 501(c)(3), along with his wife, Bethany. From congressional briefings on Capitol Hill to launching billboard campaigns in major cities across the country to advocating for adoption at major conferences to inspiring youth with their one-of-a-kind multimedia presentations, TRF has had incredible opportunities to address hundreds of thousands across the country. Eighty “Black Children Are An Endangered Species” billboards covered the Atlanta area in 2010. Since then, over 500 billboards have been placed in major cities across the country with 7 different themes (including “Black & Beautiful”, “Fatherhood Begins in the Womb”, “CHOICE KILL$”, and more).

Can anyone contextualize rape?  Apparently, if you are a proponent of White Privilege Theory, apparently you can.  We will be discussing the latest battle in the War on Women today. Also, TLFR welcomes Elaine Riddick from The Rebbeca Project for Justice back to the program.  New details on the class-action lawsuit for women harmed by Depo-Provera have emerged, and news about the emerging global use of Depo-Provera have recently come to light.  Elaine will be revealing for us the long-term detriment of Depo use and what has happened in areas of the world like Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.   We also welcome Toronto resident Luis Dizon to the show.  Canada has its own March for Life and political struggles with legal abortion.  We will be exploring more about how abortion is being protested by people of conscience to the north of us, Canadian style.

Earlier this week, the internet exploded over the abortion-counselor-turned-consumer Emily Letts as she publicized a video of her allegedly having an abortion done on herself.  TLFR hosts have been wisely cautious about saying too much too soon about this story, and you will know the reason today on-air.  Tune in to find out exactly what this is and what kind of "cool" we make out of this latest media Shock 'N Awe. Next, is it now not okay to call a spade a spade?  Attorney Chuck Allen from Alliance Defending Freedom will be our guest to discuss the lawsuit between pro-life advocate Ryan Bomberger of The Radiance Foundation and the NAACP.  Recently, the judge in the case ruled that Ryan committed copyright infringement when he accused the NAACP of being the "National Association for Aborting Colored People." Chuck will talk about the legal ramifications for all pro-life advocates going forward from this case. We also reconnect with Lynn Mills of Citizens for a Pro Life Society and the extensive work she does exposing the practices of abortionists in the Detroit, MI.  As abortion facilities fall like dominoes in states like Texas, what are abortionists in other states doing to keep themselves employed as merchants of death?   Plus, Melissa will talk about the major news involving Charlotte area abortionist Ron Virmani.  Did anyone ever think that abortionists could or would sexually assualt women in their abortion facilities?  It seems like the "ugly black babies" abortionist is now under legal fire for just such a thing today.

Much of the mainstream media has ignored it.  All but one or two cable news networks ignored it.  The Huffington Post even admitted to deliberately ignoring it:  the arrest, trial, and conviction of notorious late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell.  You don't have to have lived under a rock to be unaware of the most scandalously under-covered story of the decade--Kermit Gosnell, who for over 20 years routinely birthed babies past 24 weeks and killed them by severing their spinal chords with scissors, continues to be a purposefully ignored criminal not in the news. Today, there are efforts to put the story about this infant serial killer in a television movie dramatization that hopefully will inform and raise the consciences of a generation to what takes place in many abortion facilities.  Kermit Gosnell's business was not the only one, and his practice of infanticide is not isolated, despite what abortion defenders have claimed. TLFR welcomes Ann McElhinney to the show, one of the producers of the Gosnell film.  Ann and co-producer Phelim McAleer previously produced the highly successful film "FrackNation."  She will tell us about the vision for making a film about Kermit Gosnell and how you can be involved in making it happen. Actress Sam Sorbo will also be our guest.  Sam, wife of actor Kevin Sorbo and host of the Sam Sorbo Show, will talk about her personal support for the Gosnell film and the importance that she and her husband place on the potential impact of this film. Visit Gosnellmovie.com or Indiegogo to help fund this film.

You'd think that in this day and age that fighting for basic humane treatment of women in the world would be a given.  Publicity would be instantaneous.  The awareness would spread like a blockbuster movie, and women's activists would get to share a stage with thoughtful academics to receive honors to their work, right?  Well, no...not so much.  Join us as we discuss the latest setback to efforts to bring the plight of women suffering in a Sharia-compliant lifestyles all across the globe, specifically the shutdown of screenings of the documentary "Honor Diaries" and one of the film's featured speakers, Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The rest of the broadcast is a huge update on two important stories TLFR has covered in months past.  Christian Andzel, a political science student at the State University of New York, updates us on his campus legal case involving an incident between him and a professor known for her pro-abortion views in the classroom.  He will tell us the final developments of that case and what has happened to him since. We also welcome Dr. Paul Byrne back to the show.  Dr. Byrne was instrumental in educating us about the meaning of "brain death" in the Jahi McMath event, showing us that Jahi was not by any clear clinical standard actually dead in any meaningful way.  Now, he has important updates on changes in Jahi's condition and what this means for medical ethics.

The word "eugenics" evokes images of mad scientists and modern humanistic appeals from a bygone era.  Howevever, what does eugenics look like in an updated and contemporary medical setting?  Join us for a powerful interview with Rex Allison, producer of the documentary film "Labeled," which explores the experiences of parents of babies born with special needs.  Parents share how the health care industry, which is supposed to heal and sustain life, actually worked to subvert the purpose of medicine when it came to these families and their babies.  Join us as we have a very serious discussion about the creeping resurgence of contemporary eugenics, euthanasia, and medical ethics against the best interests of parents and children. Find the video trailer to "Labeled" that will be played for the program. From the website: Labeled exposes the shocking reality of how parents of some children diagnosed with genetic disorders are tragically being told their child’s condition is lethal and incompatible with life. Once labeled, children may have life sustaining food and medical care withheld or withdrawn, without the consent or knowledge of their parents.
