The Mockery Manor podcast is an absolute gem that I stumbled upon and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I devoured both seasons in a day and found myself constantly smiling at the witty humor and clever storytelling. The acting is top-notch, with each character bringing their own unique charm to the table, and the overall story is captivating and full of twists and turns. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this show.
One of the best aspects of The Mockery Manor podcast is its dark humor. The comedic moments are expertly woven into the story, providing much-needed levity amidst the mystery and drama. It's refreshing to find a podcast that can make you laugh while also keeping you on the edge of your seat. Additionally, the acting is superb, with each actor delivering their lines with precision and emotion. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, making their interactions feel genuine and compelling.
As for any potential drawbacks, there really isn't much to complain about when it comes to The Mockery Manor podcast. If anything, some listeners might find certain aspects of the plot to be predictable or cliché, particularly if they are familiar with similar murder mystery stories. However, even when elements of the story seem familiar, The Mockery Manor manages to put its own unique spin on things, keeping you guessing until the very end.
In conclusion, The Mockery Manor podcast is an absolute delight from start to finish. It's fun, witty, mysterious, and filled with unforgettable characters. Whether you're a fan of audio dramas or simply looking for something new to listen to, this show is definitely worth checking out. With its excellent acting, intriguing storyline, and masterful dark humor, it stands out as one of the best podcasts out there. I can't wait for what lies ahead in future seasons!

Pledge to support Mockery Manor: The Murder Mystery Game on Kickstarter! Hello listeners! It's Laurence and Lindsay LongCat here to tell you about our how we're raising funds RIGHT NOW to make “Mockery Manor: the Murder Mystery Game!” That's right, we're making a game for you to play at home, based in and around Mockery Manor theme park. The game is set in 1989, two years after season 3. It's Halloween Spooky Nights, and a staff member has gone missing. It's up to YOU to find out what happened, and hunt down the culprit. Mockery Manor: the Murder Mystery Game is for one to four players, and has the feel of an escape room – except it's not just one room covered in clues, it's the whole of Mockery Manor theme park! Delivered straight to your living room. (Or lounge for our US listeners) You'll receive an A4 envelope with over 30 pieces of evidence. This includes ephemera from the park, such as a map, a Khyber Fastpass, postcards, a menu from the Unidentified Frying Objects diner, documents stolen from the office of personnel manager Davina Strangelove, a booklet entitled 'Bette Armstrong's Guide to Deduction', and more! There are puzzles aplenty, and clues that connect to one another to form a bigger picture. And of course, there's an audio aspect! The envelope has a QR code that takes you a state-of-the-art 1998 website, where you can find recordings of staff members and guests. Figure out who sounds suspicious, what they might be hiding, and why. The 'audio recordings' include a grand finale that you unlock with the correct solution. A grand finale that's as thrilling as the climactic scenes of our three seasons. We really want to make this game. And we can do it if we reach our Kickstarter goal by December the 12th. You can give as little as £1, or you can pledge £20 and receive the game as a reward. It all depends on hitting our target - £2300 - by December 12th. So, if you'd like to find out more about the game, and pledge to help make this happen, visit our Kickstarter. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

To study it, the galaxy's most powerful corporation has built a massive, secret laboratory base around it. Their objective: unlock the secrets of the artifact and discover what it holds inside. But some mysteries should remain buried, and some doors should never be opened. It's such a great show - it's super atmospheric and it feels like it's from the Ridley Scott school of sci-fi, this stately ominous tone and pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Today we'd like to introduce you to: The Road Of Shadows. The Road of Shadows is a mystery and suspense audio drama about a man who finds himself on the run in a small town in the mountains, pursued by mysterious creatures that only he can see. It's set in 1984, so if you like the retro vibe of S1 of Mockery Manor, this has some of the same flavour. We're in a small mountain town community, so it's got that wonderful, Twin Peaks / X Files style eeriness that's just always so much fun. It's a beautifully made show, great music and sound design, and it comes to you from Beyond The Dark Productions, who also make The Strata, a wonderful dystopian sci-fi which you may also enjoy. There are two full seasons out now, and you can find it wherever you get your podcasts, or, as usual, by tapping the link in the show notes. Hey everyone, Laurence here, and we've got another recommendation for you! We'd like to introduce you to Josie's Lonely Hearts Club - a semi-improvised audio drama set in the studio of New Mexico's 3rd-best romantic advice call-in show. On-air, listeners eavesdrop as Josie squares off against top improvisers and her engineer Frank. Each episode's off-air vignettes chart her journey from melancholy Joanne Holtzinger to nationally syndicated sensation Josie Heller. What results is an often hilarious and surprisingly human show exploring the risks we idiots take every time we fall in or out of love. It's a really lovely vibe, this show. The performers slip between the scripted and improvised sections so seamlessly that it all just feels so believable, like it was meant to be. This is a cosy late-night drive time listen if there ever was one. Season 1 of Josie's Lonely Hearts Club is out in its entirety and Season 2 is releasing weekly right now. You can find it wherever you get your podcasts or by tapping the link in the show notes of this episode. And now here's episode 1 of Josie's Lonely Hearts Club, called: Let's Jam It Up, Sluts! We're delighted to be bringing you one of our long-time favourite audio dramas - the wild and wonderful science-fantasy-western Midst. But before that, we sat down with the show's three mysterious creators Xen, Sara and Matt, to have a good old chat about the making of both Midst and Mockery Manor! We've been fans of each others' shows from their very beginnings, and it was such a pleasure to finally meet them. A little about Midst: The small desert planet of Midst spins on the border between two halves of the cosmos: the dazzling Un and the mysterious Fold. Life is simple for most of the planet's inhabitants… until an influential civilization known as the Trust takes an interest in Midst and sparks an unexpected chain of events, intertwining the lives of three complicated antiheroes. Also, unrelated to any of that, Midst's moon is about to fall out of the sky and cause reality to eat itself alive, so that's not great either. Unsolved murders, cult brainwashing, and supernatural darkness all combine to create a clusterfuck of cosmic proportions. As always, you can find Midst wherever you get your podcasts. Today we are bringing you another great show from the Fable & Folly Network - it's our pleasure to introduce The Land Whale Murders. That's quite a lot to take in in one sentence, so we suggest diving right in. The Land Whale is a fast and funny podcast series for fans of Monty Python, Blackadder, pulp novels, silver age comic books, and much more. It's a hugely imaginative world. Season's greetings! And welcome to 'A Midwinter Night's Dream', a Mockery Christmas Special! This one-off drama occurs between seasons 2 and 3, in the winter of 1994. We made A Midwinter Night's Dream back in 2022, and released it that Christmas for our Ko-Fi patrons, and as a one-off purchase for anyone else. This year we're excited to make it available for you all to enjoy for free. We're following the same release format for the Christmas special we're making this year. The Matty Tapes will be out in the first week of December 2023, and like last year, our patrons will be able to access it for free, and for everyone else, we're asking for a donation of £3.99. Next year, we'll release The Matty Tapes for free, for everyone! Why are we doing it this way? Well, in a nutshell, the proceeds from the sale of the Xmas Special helps us to keep making audio dramas! And we have a lot we want to do in 2024, including Magenta and Bernard's Paranormal Investigations and season four of Mockery Manor. In the meantime, sit back with a mug of spiced wine, warm your nutmegs by the fire, and enjoy A Midwinter Night's Dream. Read the transcript Support us on Ko-fi

Hey listeners, Laurence here! We hope you enjoyed the Mockery S3 finale and we'll have more surprises for you very soon. In the meantime, we'd like to introduce another Fable and Folly show that we really love - Dirt: An Audio Drama. Dirt is set in modern day Washington state, and it follows Joseph Elo, a Seattle-based tech celebrity who one day receives a mysterious letter in the mail from his grandfather—who died 30 years ago.The letter contains vague clues about the need to find things that may be hidden in various locations. As Joseph becomes more interested, he struggles to maintain a balance between his newfound obsession and his work responsibilities, and ultimately has to decide what he wants to do with the rest of his life. This is a really interesting story - essentially an earthbound mystery, but with hints of the fantastical as well. To me it feels very literary: something about the first person narration, the slow delve into Joseph's past and all the family lore, the slight sense of the surreal mingling with some really fun comedy moments - it all feels like a novel that you can't put down. It's a long form, slow burn mystery, and the more time you put into it, the more hooked you'll get. And by the end of the first episode, you know you'll have to keep listening to find out where this bizarre treasure hunt is going to lead. And speaking as a Brit, it really makes me want to go and visit the Pacific northwest. No one knows who built Midnight Burger or how it works, but when it appears, there's always someone around who could really use a cup of coffee. We love Midnight Burger. It's one of the warmest, most thoughtful and sharply written fiction pods around, and it calls to mind all the best parts of the Hitchhiker's Guide and Red Dwarf while still being very much it's own thing. It's no surprise it's become an instant hit, having recently passed a million downloads. We urge you to check out Midnight Burger wherever you get podcasts, or at weopenatsix.com And now, here's S1 E1 of Midnight Burger, entitled The Transdimensional Haboob! It's our pleasure to introduce Give Me Away, another fabulous series from the Fable & Folly Network. Give Me Away is a thrilling and thoughtful sci-fi drama, that imagines: what if there was such a thing as consensual body snatchers, aliens that cohabit in the minds of willing humans. What does sharing a body look like? They call the spaceship that crashed in the Nevada desert “The Ghosthouse” because it screams—the screams of thousands of extraterrestrial political prisoners uploaded into its horrific mainframe. The only way to free them... is to transfer them into the bodies of humans willing to share their minds with an alien second consciousness. But who would volunteer for that? Graham Shapiro, divorced and adrift at age 50, is one of the first to raise his hand. Give Me Away is written by Mac Rogers, the creator of smash hit shows Steal The Stars, LifeAfter and The Message, which between them have been downloaded 10 million, so there's some series audio drama pedigree here. And that really shows in Give Me Away. As you'll hopefully have come to expect with all the podcasts that we share with you, Give Me Away is deftly written, with stunning sound design to put you right in the action, and a wonderful cast of actors. And now it's our pleasure to share with you, Episode 1: Is That Thing Screaming Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Download the Apollo app! Hey everyone, Laurence here - just a quick update with a little bit of exciting Mockery Manor news, and give a shout out to another show that we love. We've been working on a little something before Season 3 starts next year. Mockery Manor is going to have a Christmas Special! It's a brand new double-length episode, and it's coming out on the 1st of December. It was ridiculously fun to record, and we can't wait to share it with you. So, how can you hear it? Well... you might have heard us advertising a wonderful app called Apollo - if you haven't, Apollo is a gorgeous new podcast player that's specifically geared towards fiction. And it's so worth checking out - you can find all your favourite audio dramas on there, and discover loads more. It's really easy to use, it's beautiful to look at, and my favourite part is that you can search and browse by genre of fiction. That's something no other podcast app can do. The Apollo team have also curated some really great themed lists to explore - I think our show The Ballad of Anne & Mary is on a list called "Cinematic Epic", which we really like. But there's a new feature on Apollo - you can now support the shows you love by purchasing additional content directly on the app, and then you can listen immediately. Right now you can get bonus episodes of Omen, Sidequesting, Someone Dies In This Elevator, Midnight Burger has bonus content coming soon, loads of great shows. And on the 1st December, we're gonna be releasing our Christmas special on Apollo. We'll remind you again when it's out, but we really hope that you'll go and download Apollo, and find some new amazing fiction shows to get lost in. And now finally, we want to re-introduce you to a show that we shared a few months ago: Earth Eclipsed. Earth Eclipsed is a brilliantly exciting and multi-award winning sci-fi series made by the same team that made the Apollo app - annoyingly multi-talented people. It's a wonderful show, and they have a bonus episode out today, for you to buy and listen to on Apollo. You can find the direct link to that bonus episode, along with all the other things I've mentioned, in the show notes of this episode. So please do download the Apollo app, mark December 1st in your diary for the Mockery Manor Christmas special, and now we'd like to play you the trailer for the brand new bonus episode of Earth Eclipsed. It is our absolute pleasure to introduce what we think is one of the best audio dramas we have ever heard: Red Valley. A mystery drama about the limits of experimental science, confronting your own past, present & future, & trying to remember the level select cheat from Sonic 2. Just an FYI, this episode has some naughtier language than you'd normally find on Mockery Manor, so please be aware if you're listening with little'uns. Subscribe to Red Valley wherever you're listening to this, or by going here. Enjoy! www.redvalleypod.com www.longcatmedia.com www.fableandfolly.com Learn more about your ad choices.
