R-Soul: Reclaiming the Soul of Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice
Kelley Fox and Rev. Terry Williams take time to honor the life and story of Dr. George Tiller, an abortion provider who was murdered while serving as an usher at his church on May 31, 2009. Centering the episode on the life of Dr. Tiller, Kelley and Terry connect the dots between violent religious extremism and anti-abortion acts of terror, drawing the link between forces at play in the murder of Dr. Tiller and modern violence against reproductive health providers as recent as this year. Faith Choice Ohio's liturgical resources for use in your own Tiller Observance are also discussed — with the episode closing in a powerful prayer from the 2025 Tiller Observance Resource Guide. In today's devotional, we're going to explore the way God gives us contentment in the midst of every season and place he plants us. May you walk in immense satisfaction today as you open your heart and mind to the Lord's presence and truth. As you fix your eyes on Jesus and trust him, I pray you experience rich contentment today in God's love and provision. Our Scripture for today comes from Proverbs 19:23, and today's worship is Worth It All by First15 Worship feat. Megan Thurman. -- Do you know your spiritual gifts? We have created a free test to help you discover your gifts! Spiritual gifts have been given to each of us by God to accomplish those purposes. When you learn where you're gifted, you will begin to see more opportunities to gladly fulfill his calling on your life. Do you find yourself grappling with these thoughts? I don't know my spiritual gifts. I don't know where to serve. I feel led to serve in a different capacity than I am now. How can I know for sure that God has gifted me in certain areas? Is there a particular way I have to use my gifts? Our latest book, What Are My Spiritual Gifts? is the perfect resource to help you better understand your gifts. The book partners with a FREE spiritual gifts test. Developed alongside our partner ministry, Denison Forum, the test and book are meant to open your eyes toward how God may want to use your unique gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. It's vital to the Christian life that we as sons and daughters of the most high God allow our affections to be stirred by the loving, powerful nature of our heavenly Father. Too often we feel that God is distant or separated from us. Too often we allow misconceptions or lies to place a rift between us and experiencing God. So as we spend time this week focusing on God's character, allow who he is to stir up your desire to know him even more. Our Scripture for today comes from Philippians 2:13, and today's worship is Worth It All by First15 Worship feat. Magen Thurman . -- Do you know your spiritual gifts? It's a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It's a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself. It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it's supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you. We pray our printed devotionals, Faith and Trust, help people like you experience the life changing reality that faith and trust have on your everyday life. With Faith you'll: Discover a Biblical framework for living faithfully Study powerful moments of God's faithfulness in scripture Tear down personal strongholds in your life where you struggle with faith Develop a lifestyle of faith, that weathers the storms of life And every dollar you give today goes to help more people like you experience the nearness and love of our God. Today we'll explore the experience of God's freedom as it relates to our identity and what we believe about ourselves. Many of us have yet to truly taste the freedom available to us through the finished work of Christ. There is nothing else like it in the world. It is my prayer you are liberated today, and that your thinking toward yourself changes and in result changes your actions. Christ said his work was finished on the cross, and it's about time we start living in the new reality he instated for us. Our Scripture for today comes from Romans 6:1-4, and today's worship is Worth It All by First15 Worship feat. Magen Thurman. -- We are so excited to share our latest worship song, Coming Through, featuring Jeremiah Brinkley! Check it out on the various streaming platforms here or over at our YouTube channel, here! -- There are two things you and I need most: secure connection and unconditional love. It's impossible to live with confidence unless we have the sense of self that comes from secure connection with our heavenly Father. And it's impossible to fully love ourselves and others unless we experience and trust in the unconditional love of the one who gave us life. We pray our printed devotionals, Closer and Love, help people like you experience the connection and unconditional love available to you in God every morning. Everything changes when we live from a place of secure connection and unending love. Get your copy at supportfirst15.com!
In the last devotional of this series on God's promises, today we're looking at the promise of his return. The suffering and pain we're experiencing right now is not for forever. There is a conclusion to this story, to all of our stories. And that conclusion is being written by a God so good, so loving, and so powerful, that we know this story of humanity ends triumphantly. So may God fill us with hope, peace, and passion today as we take time to focus on his return. Our Scripture for today comes from John 14:2–3, and today's worship is Worth It All by First15 Worship feat. Magen Thurman. Check out our Worship for the Weekday playlist on Spotify! ________ Your gift will be DOUBLED to help more Spanish-speakers connect with God Two years ago, First15 began a Spanish version called Primeros15. And God is using it to impact many lives. But today, he's calling us to more. More Spanish-speaking men and women connecting with him and impacting the culture around them. That's why we've just launched a summer campaign to deepen the reach and impact of Primeros15 — and why we're asking you to jump in with us! We've set a $100,000 goal, and a generous $25,000 Matching Grant has been offered to double the impact of any gift given by July 31. So please give to help more Spanish-speakers connect with God. I've learned enough about myself to know that my struggle with "self-worth" plays out in my being competitive in ministry. Just being honest. Here is what I've been maturing in. Christmas, the birth of Christ, is God's statement to me of my worth. Why? Because I was so valuable to God, He sent His son to show me that I was, "Worth It All".Christmas says, "We are WORTH IT ALL"!When I set my mind on this truth my struggle with self-worth fades and I am able to walk into this holiday season full of joy, confidence and generosity. Why? Because words said about me by others, my social status or career accomplishments do not determine my true worth. The incarnation of the eternal God has determined my self-worth and it is there I find my significance!I pray the same for all of you. You are Worth It All!

Jeffrey Osborne is one of the greatest balladeers in r&b history. Who can ever forget his amazing performance on 80s standards like "On the Wings of Love," "We're Going All the Way," and "You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song)." After leaving his first band L.T.D. he teamed with the legendary producer George Duke to become one of the most successful singer of the 80s with additional hits like "Stay With Me Tonight" and "The Borderlines." By the 90s he took a step back, but has never gone away and even released a new album this year called Worth It All. We discuss the stories behind many of his biggest hits, what it was like working with George, why he became a vegan, and what he's up to today. He's one of the best there's ever been! https://www.jeffreyosborne.com/
