In part 1, sharing personal examples, Candy dives into the topic unmet expectations - how to identify and navigate any that have stolen your hope & joy. In this 3 Part series, you'll learn how to trust in the God of all hope, to see as He sees, and how to navigate even the most painful of circumstances with hope and joy! We are His beloved children and He has abounding hope awaiting us - a life in which we thrive and not simply survive!

In this week's episode, Candy shares the two critical aspects of following Jesus - willingness and obedience. Looking at the miracle of Lazarus, our faith is challenged by the question: are we willing to trust Him only if He does "it" the way I think He should? Oftentimes, we are willing, but lack the action of stepping out in complete faith and obedience. The life of a believer requires we take Him at His Word, even when it doesn't look how we want or expect or when He doesn't do it the way we think He should. Listen and join us as we seek to live fully surrendered - to be both willing and obedient!

This week's episode features a testimony from one of our 13|30 Student Directors, Nolan Chavez. He shares how God took loss and brokenness of longing for a dad as a child, and turned it into the discovery of His true Father and identity in Christ. He reminds us that in seasons when we feel unwanted or unseen, we have a heavenly Father who accepts us, loves us, heals us, and has good plans for us.

This week's episode features a testimony from one of our 13|30 Student Directors, Jaycee Adams. She dives into the importance of finding our identity in Christ alone. Her story of overcoming perfectionism and performance strikes a cord and is a powerful reminder for us to cling to the truth of what the LORD says about us. So often, we allow others opinions, careers, successes, failures, or accolades to determine our value. Jaycee invites us to return to the one who formed us and simply ask Him, "Here I am Lord, it's just me, what do YOU think of me?" 

Listen this week as Justin Cunningham, one of our 13|30 Student Directors, shares his testimony in overcoming addiction. We all have struggles, but according to Hebrews 4:15, we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with us. He reminds us that freedom doesn't come from focusing on sin or striving, but simply by choosing Him, surrendering, and setting our eyes on Him. Whatever area you find yourself longing for freedom in, it's available for you, and He is ready to take you by the hand! 

Don't miss the last episode in the Brotherly Kindness series with Candy and her daughter Madi. One of the most quickly and easy identifying characteristics of a believer is that of true kindness. It's being empathetic, celebrating others, not comparing difficulties, listening, and being kind in all circumstances. Madi challenges us to remember that if one of the last things Jesus prayed was for unity amongst believers, expressed through brotherly kindness ... then it should be a big deal to us! This month, we begin a series on "Brotherly Kindness!" My dear friend, Chonda Brent and I discuss the difference between being "nice" and being "kind" and how that plays out in our relationships. Hear how Chonda's application of kindness through honest, yet sometimes difficult conversations, has resulted in some of her greatest friendships.

Have you ever found yourself stuck feeling offended at people or at God? The word "offense," actually means, "bait-stick." It's a trap of the enemy that leads to un-forgiveness and bitterness. In a culture that is offended about anything and everything, it's vital as believers that we guard our heart diligently. This week, Jake challenges us to release offenses and walk in forgiveness with others, ourselves, and toward God to ultimately walk in complete freedom! 

Candy wraps up this series talking about the Apostle Paul. There are few found in the Word with such a radical transformation than that of Paul! From being blinded spiritually, physically, and bound to a religious spirit; to leading the charge as one of the most profound leaders and evangelists in the New Testament. There is truly not one outside the reach of Christ and His transformative power!Let these truths sink deep and run free into all Christ made you to be! Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!! 

In part 3 of the series, Candy addresses the issue of shame and its attempt to keep us trapped in isolation and bondage. His Word says, "confess your sins one to another so that you may be healed." He has already forgiven us, but our sinful choices result in wounds requiring His healing touch. According to scripture, that healing is found in confessing in the company of trusted believers. The enemy preys on those who are isolated and he uses shame as his sheepdog. Don't fall in his trap! His Word says the accuser of the brethren has been cast down! We overcome when we take hold of the authority found in His sacrificial blood and testify of what He has delivered us from! Rise up today and come out of the shadows of shame into the light of His freedom!

This week, we look at the life of Jonah as we continue the, "No Longer Bound" series. When we don't quickly obey we force the lord to turn the heat up and put the pressure on. Could it be our discomfort is the result of His grace to draw us into freedom? He is in it to restore and see us free, to see us to accomplish what he's called us to! Don't resist Him, when He asks, "do you want to be well?" be ready to respond with an emphatic, "yes!" 

This week, my dear friends, Brian and Julie Sims share the ins and outs of raising Godly children, learning to truly love people, and establishing the standard of "Godliness" as a family in both the big and small. Their story is one of true faith!

This month we are focusing on the topic of Freedom. The truth is, as believers, we have already been set free by the blood of Jesus! We have the choice of whether we receive it and walk in it! Are you battling depression, anxiety, feeling paralyzed by fear? Then this is for you! There is freedom for you today, the opportunity to truly walk and live, "no longer bound!"

There are few who represent this quality more than Eveline Rivers-McCoy! Countless lives have been impacted in our community because of her willingness to conform to the Lord's desires!

This week, Luke Finch,  Amarillo's former YoungLife Director, joins me as we reflect on how the Lord has used difficulty to strengthen our ability to persevere.  Hear how the Lord has continued to show Himself faithful through His obedience to trust in the midst of unknowns. We all want results 

Valerie Gooch, Executive Director of The PARC, joins me this week as we continue our series on steadfastness! Not only has she pushed through opposition and overcome obstacles of her own, but she is also equipping and teaching those she serves to do the same. Her perspective of and value for the homeless and displaced in our community is both inspiring and convicting. These two exemplify "steadfastness" in more ways than I can say. Pastor Robert and Cristi are not strangers of overcoming obstacles. They've remained faithful in the midst of opposition, keeping their "Yes" fully intact to the Lord. Which has ultimately led to the birth of, "YES Lord" Church. They remind us that steadfastness and perseverance isn't just for us, it's for those around us - those watching and who will ultimately be impacted by our willingness to stick it out when it gets hard.

This month we pick up our series discussing "steadfastness." These two sure have had their share of opportunity to remain steadfast - that's for sure! Kreed & Kaytlen Ramsey are two of the original pioneers of 13|30 and have plowed, served, and been a part since the beginning. Kreed now serves as the Ministry Director and Kaytlen is found diligently serving in the details with grace and faithfulness. Their obedience, humility, and faith to persevere in the midst of obstacle and uncertainty is inspiring and convicting!

My good friend, Tommy Spencer shares how his life has been impacted through the discipline of self-control, specifically in the area of sabbath! Often overlooked and neglected but is a game changer in the sustainability of life, family, marriage, and ministry.

As we continue in the series, this week we are discussing Self-Control with my dear friend, Spencer Cockrell. Self-control takes consistency, humility, and willingness to stretch yourself. There is only one Biblical form of control, and it is "self-control." It's what allows us to stay on pace with the Lord, to deny our flesh, and to remain consistent in Kingdom priorities and our pursuit of His heart. According to Psalm 23, the Lord has prepared a table for us. In the midst of battles, pain, questions, and right in front of our enemies, He's prepared a place and invites us to commune with Him. How often do we miss the table out of busyness, distraction, or attempt to do things in our own strength? There are only two seats at the table and we have the option to give the enemy a seat and listen to His voice, or to give The Lord His rightful place and choose to give ear to His voice! This message will recalibrate your perspective and encourage you to kick the seat out from under the enemy and sit across the table from your Father! 

This week, my two friends Rod Schroder & Mike Isley, join me to discuss Israel, Jewish culture, and it's importance to us as believers. They bring clear insight and a timely reminder of the promise found in Genesis 12, "I will bless those who bless you..." This week, Shiloh Stanley joins Candy to discuss how she's discovered who God is throughout her childhood and in politics. Wife of Mayor, Cole Stanley, an entrepreneur, mother, and prayer warrior, her life has never been absent of trial. Yet, it's only led her to discover the true nature and love of a good Father!

This week, we continue moving through 2 Peter 1:3-11 and are adding "Knowledge" to "Goodness!" Hope Choice Board Member & Business owner, Trent Taylor shares the importance of truly knowing the Word of God and where to begin if you're just getting started. In a depraved culture where people boast of "your truth" and "my truth," Trent challenges us to know THE Truth. You'll be encouraged to pick up the Word again or maybe even for the first time!

This week, the tables turn and Candy answers the questions! Hear how she's seen the Goodness of God through His redemptive work in her life. From The Lord keeps His word and He promises that His goodness and mercy will follow us! Yet, His goodness and mercy can't "follow" something that isn't moving. You'll be encouraged to move forward and close the distance between you and the Redeemer! He who promised is faithful ... He will surely do it!

In this episode, Jake encourages us to take hold of our ultimate calling as, "Servants of the Gospel." In seasons where we feel "stuck" or in the waiting, we must remain eternally minded and remember that nothing matters more than the souls of those around us! You'll be challenged to reflect on how you can be a servant of the gospel in your current sphere of influence. Regardless of where you find yourself today, you have purpose and an opportunity to have powerful Kingdom impact! 

The Lord told us, "in this world you WILL have trials, but I have overcome the world!" Opposition and adversity are unavoidable - yet, in His goodness He has already overcome it! Continuing with the theme of, "faith," this week, Dr. Howie Batson shares the role his faith plays in leading his family, First Baptist Amarillo, and those he shepherds. FBC Amarillo is serving and uniting the generations through worship, the Word, and serving the community. Their newest project will provide a literal "bridge" between the generations that will combine Park Place Retirement facility with their Student building. You don't have to compromise the Truth in order to operate in grace.  With this firm belief, FBC Amarillo is reaching the nations within our city with the truth of Jesus. Howie's vision to eliminate the "entertainment factor" and engage the body of Christ in service unto Him, will inspire you and set your heart back to the mission of the Gospel! 

Local businessmen, Michael Haning & Casey Webb, share the impact their faith has had on their pursuit of entrepreneurship and how it continues to be the rudder for the growth and development of their companies. Often times, vocational ministry can be esteemed as a greater "call," when in reality, much of the "ministry" is found outside of the church walls. We need Godly men and women in every area of influence! They discuss the value and priorities of accountability, leadership, family, and godly community. With a focus set on expanding the Kingdom, these two see beyond dollars and deals - they see the hearts of people!

Family, whether your children, your spouse, or extended family is often one of the most difficult areas to exercise our faith. Hear from two of my dear friends, Lana and Reba, as they share ways they've been tested in family, applied their faith, and come on the other side stronger than before!

We must take inventory of areas we've been weak in the past and partner with the Lord to exercise them. Physical exercise and training is often uncomfortable and hard, but is necessary for strength and health - same goes for our spirit. When these foundational needs are lacking or withheld, the above are common ways we can respond. Listen and begin to see Him as He truly is - a good good Father!

It can be all too easy to just, "check the boxes" in our walk with The Lord and miss Him entirely. We can quickly find ourselves in a religious rut when we begin to do things for God instead of with God. Although the fruit of our faith involves action, relationship with Him is not comprised of hoops, boxes, and perfection. If you find yourself going through the motions and feeling disconnected from the Lord, then this is for you. You'll be encouraged and motivated to press in, connect, and receive His grace!
