In this episode, Zach will be sharing something he learned from Russell Brunson. He is in the middle of reading Experts Secrets written by Russell Brunson which is more about building a Tribe. One of the things that really stuck out to Zach while reading the book is Getting Rid Of The Technobabble. A lot of you are doing Niche Podcasting and one of the downfalls of that is that you assume that everybody knows the Niche Specific Lingo you are referring to. Zach says if your Niche is that you’re going to try to educate people on but you are not sure how far along they are in the process, you need to assume that they know nothing. Assume that they know nothing about your Niche or assume that they know very little and get rid of the Technobabble. The reason this resonated with Zach, is that Russell talked about the research on The 2016 Elections. Almost completely across the board, the elections were won by the person who use Vocabulary that was closer to the third grade level. If you are interested in a fan base that will come back to you time and time again, you need to talk to them as if they might not know near as much as you. Talk down on their level, resonate with them and let them connect with you. If you can eliminate a lot of Technobabble, you can go a long way. Zach created a link to Russell’s free book of Expert Secrets which will resonate for a lot of you. Just go to careerinaudio.club/expertsecrets and you can get Russell’s book for free. In this episode, Zach will give an update with his paid advertisement which he talk about in his previous episode - 024 - Results From The First 3 Days Of Doing Paid Advertising For My Podcast. Zach previously paid an advertisement to see what benefit he could get from it and that has now ended and he wanted to share the results with you. Zach primarily use Overcast app as his podcast player. One thing he loves about this app is it’s free and they use advertising at the bottom of the player to make money off their app. So, the banner ad (it’s a very small ad at the bottom of your screen) is purchased by other podcasters that will take the opportunity to get people to tap one time on their ad and immediately be sent on their podcast page which is also inside Overcast. So, Zach purchase an ad for one month on their website which is overcast.fm. They have a lot of podcast categories that you can tie into. Zach put his podcast in Education category, meaning his ad will be shown to people either playing or searching for podcast in the Education category. The cost is $150 for an ad for one month in the Education category. The results for a month are as follows: 38,693 views, 2,938 taps on the ad, 112 tap the subscribe button. WE'VE MOVED TO A MONDAY/THURSDAY EPISODE RELEASE SCHEDULE. Enjoy today's Monday episode release. In this episode, Zach will talk about Monetizing which is also one of his goal although his main reason for this podcast is that he love it. One of the simplest way to monetize your podcast is Invest your time. You can direct them into your website or use an email address if you doesn’t have a website yet. Have people schedule a 15 minute strategy call with you. It’s free and zero obligation, you do not sell them anything at the end. Those who will take a time out of their day to schedule a 15 minute conversation with you, those are the ones that want to be a part of your tribe (people so loyal to you that will consume anything you put out there). Ask them questions and take those responses and find a pattern of what these people really want from you or what they’re asking for. They’re going to ask you for some sort of product that they want you to make for them. And then you make it and sell to the masses. That takes a lot of time, takes a lot of effort. It’s not going to be a quick win but it’s a guaranteed win. You will going to find out how to do something that you can monetize and you are using the people that actually listen to your podcast to find that thing. It’s not the quickest way but it’s one of the simplest. Go to careerinaudio.club for your free gift.

In this episode, Zach will talk about likability or being likable. There are people that told him they always don’t feel liked as to pertains to people that are listening to their radio show. There are mainly two questions he ask them. First is that - Where does likability rank on the things that you would like to get out of doing a radio show or podcast? Obviously, everybody would love to be liked when they are talking publicly especially if they’re trying to sell something to the people. So, it depends on the genre or niche. Those in opinion based podcast, should have a strong convictions and move on. The stronger the conviction, the stronger the loyalty. Those in information based, the best way to be liked is to Empathize. Have a strong emotional connection with your listeners. Empathize with your audience. Make them think that the struggles that they are going through are or were your struggles as well. Go to careerinaudio.club for your free gift.

In this episode, Zach will be giving two interview tips. The first one is, the Double Barrel Question. The Double Barrel Question is asking two questions at the same time. Tip 1.A is - Don’t worry about being brief. Ask the question and get out of the way. Let the interviewee be the star. The number 2 is, Load Open Query. Close query when you really need an open one. What is an Open Query and Close Query? Close Query is - can the answer be answered in just one word, two words, three words? If the answer is Yes to that, then it’s probably a Close Query question. Basically, use How, What, Why. Those are the best ones. Those are Open Query. If you can use those as mush as you can to start your questions you are in a really, really good spot. If you start your questions with ‘Did, Can or Are’ then that’s the end of the question. Those are the bad ones. Those are Close Query. Tip 2.A is - Listen to your interviewee. They’re going to give you openings as to what kind of questions you can ask next. Zach urge you to go to doyourdamnpodcast.com/stressfree which is his first webinar. It is absolutely free. If you’re starting a podcast or started a podcast recently, Zach will give you some very quick and easy tips to grow your podcast and his iTunes hack to get you a lot of downloads. In this episode, Zach will talk about Loops. He site Seinfeld’s episodes as to what he will talk about. Zach consider Seinfeld’s episodes brilliant because it always have four different sub-stories and somehow at the end, all of those little sub-stories would intersect into a one big pay-off. Zach’s point is, in the middle of your shows you are to open loops and closes, when you open a loop you close another. Here is Zach’s example, you open up a loop to start an interview whenever you’re in the middle of a podcast. By loop, Zach means a mini topic. Opening a loop means you have teased a story for later on or teased something that’s gonna happen later on in the podcast. Then you’re about to close that loop which means you’re gonna close the deal, you’re gonna pay-off the tease that you gave earlier. Right before you do, open up another loop. Now there’s two loops open, right before you open that second loop, close the first one. Basically, you’re teasing what is coming up just a little bit later in the podcast so people will listen longer. Get people to listen longer by teasing what’s coming ahead. That is what a great flow to any show has. It is an art. Zach says it’s not something you’ll gonna be able to perfect overnight. But if you start structuring your show like that, you’ll gonna find people are going to listen longer. If you need help with this, hit Zach on twitter @bigez or send him an email at zach@careerinaudio.club. Go to careerinaudio.club for your free gift.

Zach is enjoying and love doing this podcast now because he made enough money in other podcast that pays for him to hand off work that he don’t have time to do to his Virtual Assistant. He taken the money that he made and invested it back on his business. As of now, this is just Zach’s side business but he has goals to make it more than just a side business. One of them being the Virtual Assistant that helps to take some of the extra work. As you start making money with your podcast, Zach wants you to reinvest it. In this episode, Zach is saying that when somebody has given you something of extreme value for free, you look at that valuable thing that person gave you. That is exactly the kind of person you want to be in the audio world. You want to give value to the people that listen on the radio and podcast side. That value make helm in the form of giving something for free. Those listeners are appreciative that they have been given value upfront for free. Give them something tangible for free and make it valuable. Then they will feel obliged to pay you back in someway and usually that payback comes twofold, threefold, fourfold or fivefold. Zach’s message is if you want to turn your shows’ listeners into real customers that put money into your pocket then give them value first. Give VALUE first. Zach is giving a free webinar. He’s been as high as 420 lbs and he is now just above the 300 barrier as of recording this podcast. What Zach did is he just stack wins on top of wins on top of wins which reminded him of his podcasting career. Zach failed both in radio and podcasting when he first tried to get started that when he look back he thinks the reason is that he never got that early win. Zach feels like the problem with a lot of people when it becomes an issue of wanting to start you’re own show, is that you’re so craving a victory. Victory is different in every person and you have to figure that out. Zach will tell you to try and try again until you get that first win because you will keep on stacking them. Zach’s message for all of you is that if you are starting your own show, whatever your goal is keep grinding towards it. The first win in your journey for your own show is the hardest. So, the title of this podcast is — Do Not Quit… The First Win is the Toughest. Please give us a rating and review in iTunes and subscribe. In this episode, Zach says that one of his favorite things in podcasting and radio is he loves interviewing. In podcasting and radio in general, you’re never gonna be the best but you always strive to be the best. You’re never gonna be perfect but you strive to be perfect. You’re always reaching for that an unattainable goal but maybe it’s just to get 1% better or to be a little bit better than you were the day before. So in interviewing, what Zach try to do is to interview with a different spin. Ask a question that is isn’t always asked of the recipient or try to ask in a different way. There are a lot of people that are used to being interviewed that you will interview. Those people have probably heard a lot of the same questions and know exactly how to answer them word per word. Stop asking same question or find another way to ask. Let the interviewee be the star. If you can, just find a way to ask questions or surprise the interviewee with a question worded differently or propose in a different light. 'Be thoughtful with your questions' is the lesson Zach want to give you on this episode. Go to careerinaudio.club for your free gift.
In this episode, Zach wants you to know that you will run Into a guest that gets longwinded with the question. If you are fading away in listening into a longwinded answer of a guest, you’re listeners is probably gone. Zach wants you to get out of there as fast as you possibly can and that can be tricky. Two ways to go about it that Zach have used are, Number 1 - Think about the next question that you are gonna ask that you think will tie in what your guest is talking about and If you can find a break where they take a breath or something - jump in with that question. It is not ideal but neither is the longwinded answer they are giving either. Number 2 - If you think you can take a chance at them finishing their answer soon, if you can feel them getting ready to end their answer after their very longwinded response. Then when you jump back in for your next question, you say something like the following and make sure it is very non-abrasive and non-aggressive in the way you say the following. That gets the job done. There is a third one, Zach is not a huge fan of it but sometimes in a very rare situation it does work. You interrupting an interviewee by using verbal cues, Zach is very much against it but it might work. Zach will use it as the very last resort - that is a third option. Those are the 3 Ways to Stop a Longwinded Answer from a Guest. Go to careerinaudio.club for your free gift.
In this episode, Zach wants you to know that you need to have a logo or artwork for your podcast. On this podcast, Zach did an artwork himself. Someone made him an egghead and the rest, he did it all by himself. Zach will give you options on image artwork for your podcast. First option is if you don’t want to pay and you want to do the work, Zach would say go on canva.com (it’s absolutely free) and create your artwork from there. Another option which is kind of like Photoshop is a program called Pixelmator. If you want to make it more professional, Zach suggest for you to go to Fiverr. This is a site created that people could go on there and pay for the task. If you want to pay a little bit and get some nice image artwork made, fiverr.com and if not and you want it to do on your own, canva.com. Go to careerinaudio.club for your free gift.
