It’s all about making Jesus known. We are a bible believing, Jesus worshipping church. The Coach House Church is a contemporary, spirit filled church. We are a church that loves and accepts everyone, no matter what your background or experience. If you ar
Sometimes our attitude as believers drives souls further away from Him. You can make the difference right now by how you treat / serve / love people….….. but on the glorious Jesus side of this….. we also definitely hold the key to others seeing Jesus. How we love them, speak to them, serve them is such a great opportunity to show Jesus to a world where they don't even know who they are, don't have any hope. They are missing out, and its our job to point them to Him
It is the reason that we can rise above situations, battle all circumstances, endure pain and grief and yet still retain: Peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control ........... and ah yes..... JOY. The fruit that the scripture tells us is produced by the Holy Spirit in us - not by us!
Gratitude deepens worship and opens the door to responding to trials in life with true joy. As we grow to understand more of God's character and as we continue to examine ourselves, our human weaknesses become ever more apparent as we grow in our personal knowledge of Christ and what He has done.
We are here to live out God's purposes, whatever they look like in our lives. We need to know God through the bible, through prayer and through talking with our Christian brothers and sisters to work out what God's purposes look like in our lives and to be able to keep focusing our eyes on what is ahead. Our purpose is not our happiness and let's not take the bible out of context to say so because that can lead us down some dangerous paths. Instead of focusing on ourselves, let's abandon ourselves to focus on Him.
"Thank God for Jesus, who embodies God's love and determination to rescue us. We are a blessed people. It is precisely because God knows us intimately that He makes the move towards us in order for us to have our relationship made complete. Friends and no longer enemies."
"Don't allow the culture of this day and age to cause you to misinterpret Scripture. Let Jesus speak to you directly from His word and let his breath change you to be more like Him as the day of His return approaches. Will you have the courage to be culturally changed?
A while ago I mentioned that there was a common phrase used by Jesus in almost all his supernatural encounters with people. Whether it be walking on the water, appearing after His resurrection, or simply to refocus attention Jesus often says ‘Do not fear'
If we're honest, we don't just want to know what God says to people, we want to know what he says to us. We don't just want to know some generic god up in the sky, but God revealed in Jesus Christ. We don't just want to know what God was saying to the Corinthians, but what God is saying to us, today, through his word.
Today of all days we rejoice in Jesus' resurrection - but the results and consequences of this amazing act of grace and power are for ever and always to those who cry out for rescue and salvation. Happy Easter and God bless you all.
, we will talk about the nature of revelation, the role of prophecy in modern living, and the importance of studying scripture. As Christians, we believe in a God with particular characteristics. We believe in a God who is holy, righteous, and true.
Steve Potts brings us his thoughts on Identity and Church, and a great insight into his work in Romania
But now you have to decide if you want to accept this gift of forgiveness, this promise of eternal life. If you want to be free from the punishment you brought on yourself, you need to decide to surrender to God and do things His way from now on.
Knowing who we are, sets our hearts and minds on a straight path. We are looking up and beyond to where our final home is. This helps us not to focus on the here and now with all its problems - but on the future to come. This promised future then allows us to shift the perspective on life and manoeuvre our thoughts and increase our faith.
So, here is the culmination of why we are called display love to each other and why the love has to be the love of God, not simply the emotion of human love. It is the full expression of God in our lives. It is the source of our worship, our adoration, our behaviour and witness
The best example we have of selfless devotion and love, is of course Jesus. Every action, word and deed, came from a place of love. He spoke to crowds in their hundreds, healed the sick and performed miracles - but He always had 12 mixed up, sometimes confused, sometimes over enthusiastic, sometimes rebellious - ‘disciples' - followers or pupils of a teacher - in this case THE teacher!
This process of change is called Metamorphosis, which you won't be surprised to hear, is a Greek word, which means transformation or change of shape.A butterfly has a complete metamorphosis, looking completely different from what it started out as.
The only incurable sin, is the one the patient refuses to admit he or she has! We are here to admit those in need and treat with hospitality and respect. We are the tools at the disposal of Jesus and we submit to His will as we admit and give hope to those in need.
We might look on each other and only see faint glimpses of what God is restoring, but God sees the masterpiece. We are His handiwork; we bear His likeness and we are clothed with Jesus' righteousness - God sees the complete picture and declares that you and I have rightful position with Him for eternity.
This may seem like a strange list of questions to ask when we are looking at what our church DNA consist of, but in truth, if we want to understand how God works out His purposes through the church, we have to grasp what God wants His church to look like!
Oasis once had a song ‘don't look back in anger' … a song about looking back on life without regret. It later became a powerful anthem, especially after the Arena bombing in Manchester, when it was spontaneously sung at a vigil for those who were killed on that horrific night.
The beginning and end of Revelation is Jesus. Revelation is Jesus's words given to us and is the faithful culmination of all the promises made since that day that Adam and Eve failed in their task to obey God and live in peace with Him for ever.
The truth is, that because I haven't revealed my starting point, it is impossible to answer correctly, but I am sure people will try to explain their answer with conviction. The whole point of us looking at the Big Picture is to make sure that we read and interpret Gods word with the correct information.
these books were written to the early church but when you read them they feel like they could have been written to us today. The main message of all of them is don't listen to what false teachers are telling you, obey the bible, avoid sin and love one another because Jesus is who He said He is and will do what He has promised.
We've never lived in a time where the information that is in the Word of God has been more accessible to us. These things will send you alarms, break it down for you, give you a bible plan for reading it in a year, help you to read it whilst sitting on the bus to work, read it out to you in morning (that's what Bekah does), help you with anxiety, stress, your needs and loneliness to name but a few.
But what about the interests of our time now, where Christians spend far too much time being trying to merge our spiritual lives with national politics or creative reinterpretations of the Bible? I'll say it clearly: for a Christian, our number one priority is not pursuing whatever interests us, even if it relates to God. Our purpose in life is to know God This means we need to continue to learn more about Him, actively, carefully, and daily, beyond our Christian ABCs.
you are not God's only tool in the toolbox! It's not all on you! It's not even all on our church. Or all the churches in Manchester or the UK. As each of us does our bit faithfully for God and sees what he is asking us to do, God works things together to bring people to himself. Be a good ambassador for Jesus, telling people the good news, and living in the reality of this good news, as an individual, and in the church. Keep on growing in faith and growing the faith with God's constant help.
Adam failed in the face of temptation from Satan and swapped eternal ‘heaven' for temporal earth. Jesus resisted Satan - as a man - and claimed back eternity and heaven for mankind - reversing death and restoring life. It is up to us, the church, to call in those. to whom Heaven will be restored - for the day is coming - where rest will be entered into but this time with no Satan to spoil it. A perfect Eden. Therefore, pursue the prize, run the race and enter into your promised rest.
Greatest man in history; … had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb yet He lives today— His name is Jesus.

Like the Israelites preparing to leave Babylon to return home so we should be preparing to leave this earth behind to return to heaven. We should be looking forward to it as eagerly as we look forward to a holiday, and we should prepare for it as thoroughly as we prepare for the unexpected events of this world.
The Old testament shows us that God does not leave us in our despair, he does not reject us even when we reject him, He does not cease looking for us when we try to hide, He reaches down and rescues ALL those who turn to him. His plan is for a new covenant brought about by Jesus. He rescues us in our despair and from that point Gods plan is to restore - to all people - relationship with Him
We must be careful that we do not step out of Gods purposes for us and His intentions. It is fairly clear that Solomon turned away from God - and as such the blessings will dry up - so, we are told that Solomon was harsh towards people from other lands, using them as slave labour to build the temple and other infrastructures.
David is a King after Gods own heart - the only King to have this said of him. He united the Israelites unified nation. Find out more....
One of the problems I had when I first became a Christian was how to understand the book which was supposed to give me the help and guidance I would need as a new Christian. One of the problems I have today - is I still find myself lacking in understanding in what is a huge body of work, written over many years by numerous authors.
Steve brings us some more information on his work over in Romania. Helping us to understand the needs, and also the blessings that happen over there.
Our timeline of the Bible gets a little complicated from this point on as man continues to make mistake after mistake - as we will see - every man chosen is still a man and subject to sin and failure
Pastor Andy tells us about his dream. A short messaage brought within the amazing thanksgiving servie for Nnekah coming home to us.
We may have lost sight of the seed.... but, just in case, we are helpfully given the book of RUTH TO BRING IT BACK INTO SHARP FOCUS. the placement of the book in scripture is no accident and whilst the Hebrew order places the book before Proverbs, the Greek canon places it chronologically as it begins with the line...
I love that God's love is stubborn love. God says, I'm going to do this. And even though they weren't up to the task, weren't up to the faith to believe that God would do it, God did it anyway.
When I was a child, one of my religious studies teachers told me that there were ceremonial, civil, and moral laws found in the Old Testament, and that modern-day Christians only had to worry about the moral laws. I had no clue what my teacher was talking about, and he did not bother clarifying afterwards. I later thought to myself t
We should be reminded that Jesus was eager to eat the Passover meal with his disciples ‘before His suffering began' and the significance should not be lost on us.
“Which of the commandments is the greatest?” Jesus replied “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it, Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments”
When don't always do the best job making plans or keeping promises because we don't foresee what might come up and we're not reliable. This is because we're limited human beings, this is real life,
Covenant helps us to see how special and set apart we are to God. Covenant helps us to understand the WHY of Gods relationship with us.
The final part of our year doing The Big Picture.
How do you respond to conflict? I wonder how you respond to conflict? If we think someone has done us wrong, how do we deal with it: Revenge, Gossip, Calling it out, Refusing to interact
As we start our Big Picture journey through scripture, I would like us to ask the WHY question, rather than the HOW?
With this in mind, we are going to attempt to show how the entire Bible fits together into one beautiful, cohesive narrative, that has at its centre a single desire and motivation, but has many strands to the story.
In a few weeks we start our grand tour of the Bible, exploring the major themes that hold all the scripture in one coherent story that is brilliant and life changing news for humankind throughout history and ahead of us into our future.
...following the Sunday morning service at the end of November. It was a special time as God decided to join us in a very tangible way by the Holy Spirit. We wanted to listen and be inspired and then to act as God directed us.
