For leaders who can feel the landscape shifting, yet sense they have reached an invisible ceiling and are ready to engage from a fully unified system instead of only their mind. Celinne didn't schedule this conversation. She dreamt it — woke up knowing she and Leanne needed to talk, and the two of them tuned in to what wanted to be shared and when. Texas is unique in that it is one of only two states in the U.S. (the other is Oklahoma) that operates a bifurcated high court system - instead of having one single state supreme court that handles everything, Texas splits its highest judicial authority between two specialized courts: the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. All of the seats on these courts are elected statewide, and just like every other statewide post, they've all been held by Republicans since the late 1990's (if you don't count Larry Meyers). Major health organizations, including the CDC and ACOG, recommend universal Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) screening for all pregnant women during each pregnancy and at time of delivery. Ideally, pregnant women should be screened for hepatitis C virus infection at the first prenatal visit of each pregnancy. If the antibody screen result is positive, hepatitis C virus RNA polymerase chain reaction testing is done to confirm the diagnosis. The risk of perinatal transmission of HCV is up to 9%, with at least one-third of transmissions occurring antenatally. While antiviral therapy is recommended for Hepatitis B in pregnancy with a viral load greater than 200,000 international units/mL to decrease the risk of vertical transmission, the same is not the case for Hep C. According to the ACOG CPG #6 from September 2023, there are no standard treatment protocols for Hep C in pregnancy but a new publication from the PINK journal (7 Dec 2025) is calling for a change. To bring in Sexual Assault Awareness month, I've finally decided that I am ready to tell my story. For years, I've kept myself stagnant in the energy of being perceived as anything else but a survivor and I see now how that has affected me mentally. But no more.In this episode I unpack some of my sexual trauma in hopes I can give the next person the strength to speak up on theirs. I can count on one hand how many times I've been sexually assaulted and it's ever. Single. Finger. I didn't report or even speak on most of them because I was influenced by stigmas and rape culture but I free myself of that now. I break this cycle of silence for myself. For my little brother.
