    Ivy Insights

The Design Tangents podcast is a breath of fresh air in the world of design podcasts. Hosted by Evan and Josh, the podcast brings together designers and artists for fascinating conversations that offer insights into their work and the design industry as a whole. What sets this podcast apart is its slowness and care in allowing guests to share their thoughts, creating an atmosphere that feels inviting and genuine.

One of the best aspects of The Design Tangents podcast is the range of guests that Evan and Josh bring on. They have a knack for curating conversations with both well-known designers and artists, as well as introducing listeners to new and emerging talent. This variety keeps each episode exciting and offers something for everyone, whether they are already familiar with certain artists or discovering them for the first time. The hosts' knowledge about their guests' work shines through in the natural flow of conversation, making it evident that they have done their research.

Another highlight of this podcast is the authenticity of the conversations. Unlike some interview-style podcasts where guests may feel bombarded with scripted questions, The Design Tangents allows for organic discussions to unfold. It feels like sitting at a cafe table next to fascinating individuals without feeling like an intruder. The hosts' ability to make their guests feel comfortable and engaged results in thought-provoking discussions that delve into both personal experiences and broader design topics.

While there are few downsides to The Design Tangents podcast, one aspect that could be improved upon is its frequency of episodes. As a fan of Cool Hunting, it's understandable that listeners would eagerly await new episodes from Evan and Josh. However, it would be even more enjoyable if they were released more regularly to satiate listeners' hunger for interesting design content.

In conclusion, The Design Tangents podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in design or seeking creative inspiration. With its careful curation, authentic conversations, and insightful guests, this podcast stands out in the crowded landscape of design podcasts. Evan and Josh have created a gem that not only draws back the curtain on the design world but also creates a welcoming space for listeners to eavesdrop on captivating discussions. Bravo to them and best of luck with future episodes!
