What happens when you choose to completely abandon a life of "quiet desperation" and trust the invisible, benevolent forces guiding your gut? In this returning-guest episode of the Miles to Zen podcast, host Shannon Miles Halliday sits down with men's intuition coach Doug Beitz Doug shares his deeply personal journey from witnessing his father's unfulfilled life to breaking the cycle himself. He reveals how he went from serving as a professional firefighter to building an 18-room tropical scuba dive resort in the middle of Micronesia—and later, making global headlines by successfully selling it via a viral worldwide raffle. This conversation dives deep into the practical biology of intuition, spiritual frameworks like the Gene Keys, and the sheer courage it takes to leap when the universe gives you green lights but shows you no road. Key Takeaways • Practical Tools to Train Your Gut Instincts Actionable advice on vocalizing desires to the universe, utilizing sleep intentions (writing notes under your pillow), and letting go of the need to control others. • The Biology of Intuition: Diet, Energy Clearing, and Pendulums How the acid-alkaline balance, Gene Keys, nature immersion, and biofeedback tools (like pendulums) literally alter your body's physical frequency to pick up intuitive signals. • Butterfly Signs & Real-World Synchronicities Doug and Shannon trade incredible, true stories of how paying attention to physical signs in the wild—like circling butterflies—averted near-disasters and confirmed massive life choices. Memorable Quotes "What's more scary for me... is me getting to 60 and saying two words: If only. If only I tried." — Doug Beitz "All of a sudden, the lights went green—and there wasn't just three lights, there were 75 green lights. But when I looked ahead, there was no road. It was like a cliff... I realised the road was invisible, but it was still there." — Doug Beitz Connect with Shannon Miles Halliday: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/milestozen/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@milestozen Podcast Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-miles-to-zen-podcast-with-shannon-miles-halliday/id1790460448 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3EjVDgfTg9yc5m29sKMXzQ Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2440331 Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shannonhalliday/ Connect with Doug Beitz: Email: info@dougbeitz.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dougbeitz/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dougbeitz/ Website: https://buymeacoffee.com/dougbeitz Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6mQ258nugC3lyw3SpvYuoK?si=7cec409527d34438 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/intuitive-conversations-with-doug/id1593172364 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/doug-beitz-472a4b338/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dougbeitz178

Contentment is not about achieving perfect circumstances—it is about finding peace within whatever circumstances you face. This guide explores releasing the constant pursuit of more, appreciating what you already have, and discovering that enough is enough. Contentment is a skill that develops through practice. The quiet moment is where you cultivate gratitude for what is present rather than craving what is absent.

What is one thing that you can do today to start your impact on God's Kingdom? In this episode, Jeff and Todd discuss: Surrendering your life to Jesus.Seizing the opportunities God provides.Trusting in God, not the resources of the world.Seeing God's picture as greater than what we can dream.Taking the chance to just start. Key Takeaways: Don't be afraid to live your faith out loud. You never know who is watching and who is being impacted.God is enough. You don't have to know every verse of scripture or have all the answers. He is enough.Don't get so stuck in your own ideas that you stop listening to God's voice.God will expand our footprint as we scatter seeds and trust in Him during times of transition. "I think we overthink transitions sometimes as if God doesn't know what's coming. And in my case, He not only knew, but He confirmed it in a way that brought a lot of peace." — Todd Stewart Episode References: Hope Legacy Collective: https://hopelegacycollective.org/C12: https://www.joinc12.com/ About Todd Stewart: Todd Stewart is first and foremost a follower of Christ, one who seeks to live out kingdom principles and pursue kingdom growth on a daily basis.Beginning as a forklift operator and later becoming CEO of Gulf Winds, he charted an unusual course for the company: faith first, and profit followed. His wife, Nikki, has adventured side by side with him through his rise to CEO; the raising of their two beautiful children, Lexi and Lane; and his travels across the globe, sharing the gospel of Christ with family, friends, and colleagues-and with those hungry to hear.Through the years, Todd has been honored by C12 with the Hero Award and by International Cooperating Ministries with the Rock Award. Todd personally lived the Gulf Winds story as a son, an employee, the CEO, and finally through the sale of the business. As he dared to run the family company with the mission of impacting eternity and a determination to put God first in it all, he saw firsthand the incredible things God would do with a business devoted to Him. What would need to change for you to finally feel content? In Part 2 of From Covetousness to Contentment, we turn from exposing disordered desire to cultivating a deeper satisfaction in Christ.Writing from prison, Paul reveals that contentment is learned, tested in both plenty and want, and grounded in Christ alone.True contentment is not self-sufficiency, but Christ-sufficiency.Even when circumstances don't change, the source of peace can. This sermon from Philippians 4:10–13 invites us to find “enough” by clinging to the One who is enough.

We explore confidence as a crucial skill set for creating a life that aligns with one's true desires, rather than conforming to limiting societal norms. The Love, Happiness and Success Podcast With Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby
If you've ever told yourself, “I'll finally relax when my relationship is better, my house is cleaner, my body looks different, my career is farther along,” this conversation is for you and me both. As we step into the holiday season - a time that invites reflection, gratitude, and sometimes a little extra pressure - I'm revisiting this episode because the message is timeless. We're talking about cultivating contentment in the life you actually have, not some upgraded future version of it, and how to feel more at peace inside yourself without giving up your dreams, your drive, or your big, beautiful goals. We'll look at the difference between quick hits of happiness and that steadier “all is well in my world” feeling, the paradox of being an ambitious human who also wants to enjoy today, and some very practical ways to take inventory of your life, question old beliefs about worth and achievement, and stop outsourcing your emotional climate to your circumstances. As you listen, I'd love for you to consider: What have you been making your happiness conditional on? And what might change if today, messy and imperfect as it is, actually counted as a good life? Episode Breakdown: 00:00 Introduction to Contentment 04:24 The Pursuit of Happiness vs. Contentment 10:56 Understanding Contentment 20:36 The Paradox of Growth and Contentment 22:29 Taking Inventory for Contentment 29:17 Exploring Core Beliefs and Values 32:55 The Impact of Negative Thinking 37:10 Contentment and Happiness 40:37 The Illusion of Circumstantial Happiness 46:20 The Journey of Personal Growth 52:32 Finding Joy in the Process of Life If you're noticing how long you've been living in “when things are different, then I'll be okay,” and you'd like a thoughtful partner while you practice something healthier, I'd love to connect with you. You can schedule a consultation with me or a member of my team; it's a private, secure space where you can tell us what's really been going on in your world and what you're hoping will feel different. We'll help you get matched with the right counselor or coach so you can feel more grounded, more understood, and more free to enjoy the life you're in while you grow into what's next.

If you've ever wished you could make life less complicated, you're going to love my guest on today's podcast. Brenda Yoder is here with me talking about contentment - what it is, how to cultivate it and what is keeping you from feeling satisfied with your life. You'll Learn:Why there is more discontent in our current society that in past generationsHow contentment and happiness are different from each otherCommon challenges to feeling content7 strategies for bringing more contentment into your lifeThe exercise I used to create more contentment in my marriageMy invitation to you today, Mama, is to chase contentment. Choose it. Figure out how to bring more of it into each moment. You're already good enough.-------------------------------My guest, Brenda Yoder, is a licensed mental health counselor, school counselor, speaker and educator. She is also the author of Uncomplicated: Simple Secrets for a Compelling Life; and Fledge: Launching Your Kids without Losing Your Mind. She's the cohost of the Midlife Moms Podcast and Facebook community. She also hosts and writes the Life Beyond the Picket Fence podcast and blog, covering a variety of topics on faith, life, and family beyond the storybook image. Uncomplicating Your LifeBrenda lives in a small Amish-Mennonite community, and sees how tourists flock there because there is something in that lifestyle that they want in their own lives. How many of us watch Hallmark movies at the holidays and long for those quaint towns and communities? We're drawn to the uncomplicated, less chaotic, less busy way of life. Visitors to Brenda's town think they would have to be Amish in order to have that simplicity and satisfaction. But contentment isn't about where you live or what you have or don't have. It's more internal - how you view the world and what you value. As a working mom to 4 kids and now a grandma to 3 little ones, Brenda understands that there's more to an uncomplicated life than just “slowing down”. She says, “It really is a sense of values clarification.” Clarifying our values, modeling them and seeing them lived out is not as common as it was in previous generations. Instead, we're inundated by technology, social media and other distractions. In Brenda's book, Uncomplicated, she outlines ten virtues, mindsets and behaviors for an uncomplicated life: resourcefulness, practicality, fidelity, equanimity & forbearance, stewardship, interdependence, being grounded and humble, foresight prudence and, of course, contentment. A Culture of DiscontentBrenda defines discontentment as “that one thing that's always out of your reach.” Maybe it's always looking to a new goal or experience as soon as you achieve something. As a parent, you might find yourself constantly looking ahead to the next stage, wishing for your kid to have better grades or better behavior. When you are discontent, you'll always be looking at what's out of reach, rather than seeing what you already have that can fill you up. You take things for granted, and nothing ever seems to be enough.Finding contentment comes back to asking yourself, “What if today is as good as it gets?” Can you be content and satisfied with what is here? Brenda explains that many people confuse contentment with happiness, but they are not the same. She says, “Contentment is a sense of ‘I am full, and I don't need more'.”In helping moms raise emotionally healthy kids, contentment is huge. We don't want our kids to grow up and be people who are chronically dissatisfied with their life. Our kids pick up on what we model and how we view our lives. Obstacles to ContentmentMany aspects of...

Did you know you can LEARN contentment? I didn't say it would be easy or a "one and done" experience, but it can happen. Let's go to school and start cultivating contentment!
Contentment has been one of the most beneficial lessons we've learned in our marriage. It's helped battle comparison and has helped keep us grateful for the life (and stuff) that we have. Without an intentional focus on contentment our lives would no doubt be more filled with stress and anxiety. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side, but contentment helps keep you grateful for the grass you have.
