Jude opens his letter reminding believers who they are, called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ. We have been bought with a price, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ. It does not matter how far you have gone or how much you have messed up. Jesus has called you to Himself. His love is perfect, permanent, and unchanging. Once you are in Him, you are always in Him. Because of that, we are not saved to sit still. Jude urges believers to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. In a world where truth is being twisted and false gospels creep in unnoticed, we must guard what is true, not opinions or preferences, but the gospel itself. Contending begins on our knees. It looks like prayer, surrender, and bold obedience. Jesus has called us, loves us, and keeps us. He does not need wimpy Christians, but bold ones, driven by His love, who stand firm and live out the truth of the gospel. You are called. You are beloved. You are kept. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 6th of October, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of John 8:59:”Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple,…” Folks, I want to speak to you today about contending with God. Do not fight with God. Contend means “put forward a view in an argument.”Many of us, I'm including myself, when things don't go well, we blame God. “Lord, where were You? Lord, You promised that You'd never leave me nor forsake me. Lord, why is this thing happening? Why am I faced with a divorce?” But if we are honest with ourselves, we know that we haven't been doing things according to what God, through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, has told us to do. Stop having an affair with that woman and I'm talking about having an affair on the internet. Yes! I'm talking about making those phone calls to that girl. She's not your wife, she'll never be your wife and your own wife finds out about it. Things go wrong and you say, ”God, why have You done this to me?” God hasn't done that to You, You've done it to yourself.Pay your income tax. Don't owe people money. “Well, I'm going down the tube now, I can't pay my debt.” But you shouldn't have bought that motor car, you know that because you didn't have enough money. We've got to stop blaming God when things don't go well in our own lives. To contend with God is as ludicrous as an ant trying to argue with a bull elephant. You're laughing, I'm not laughing. You know a bull elephant stands ten feet tall. It weighs up to ten tons. It lives to sixty years old. Don't contend with a bull elephant when you are a mere ant!You know that farmer, Job? Job 38:3-4. The Lord says to Job when he was complaining. Maybe like you and me: ”Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” It's ridiculous. How can we even question God?I want to say to you today and it's a serious message, stop playing the fool. Start getting serious with the Lord, start obeying His commandments and your life will go a lot easier. Stop contending with God! You and I are not in a position to start thumping the table. I've heard people say to me, ”When I get to Heaven one day, there's a few questions I need to ask God.” Oh, my friend, you've got no idea about what you're talking about. When you get to Heaven, you will not say one word when you see the glory of God. You will just worship Him!Have a good day today and remember, don't contend with God,Goodbye.

The Playbook HR2 9.24.25: "CFB Contending Questions & Colton Hood NFL Draft" by Fanrun Radio

Mike Gendron is founder and director of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministry. Mike was a devout Roman Catholic for over 3 decades and was taught to rely upon the authority of the church above all else. Mike searched the Scriptures and was amazed to find that what he read in Scripture contradicted the teaching and tradition of the church he had been a part of for so long. He trusted Jesus as his Savior and now the Bible has become his sole authority in all matters of faith. Mike is the author of the books, Preparing for Eternity and Contending for the Gospel and has produced numerous videos with warnings concerning false teachings vs. the truth of the Scriptures. Recently, Pope Leo XIV presided over his first saint-making ceremony at St. Peter's Square. At this ceremony he declared a British born, Italian teenager, Carlo Acutis, who died in 2006, to be the first millennial saint. As this broadcast explains, in order to become a saint according to Catholic teaching, a person has to have lived an exemplary life, die, then have 2 miracles attributed to them. After the first miracle the individual is beautified, with the second miracle qualifying the individual to be canonized. On the other hand, how does a person become a saint according to the Bible? Is the Catholic Church truly honoring God in this regard? Is it possible that this is just a marketing ploy to make the Catholic Church more relevant to youth? Also, new images are coming out of Mary over the Mercy Seat between the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant. What's the background on this and is this just another example of the worship of Mary replacing the worship of Jesus?
