“Tithing: Opening the Windows of Heaven” by Elder Andersen is all about, you guessed it, tithing. And about the relationship between our temporal and spiritual blessings. Here's a question to consider as you study: How does tithing - and how do other more temporal commandments - help you remember your connection to spiritual things? "When President Russell M. Nelson invited us to think celestially, it reminded us to look harder, take the long view, and change our perspective. For the next six months, that is our quest. We will consider Perspective, Devotion, and Relationship. Let us all look harder and think celestial. It will lead us to discover the rich blessings Heavenly Father has in store for each of us.”
Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke during the Saturday afternoon session of October 2023 general conference about the blessings that come into individuals' lives as they obey the law of tithing. Kevin and Todd share quotes and discuss the important role tithing plays in sacrifice and sanctification in the Lord's kingdom.
Speaker: Pastor Sunhee Robinson In her sermon, Pastor Sunhee Robinson invites the congregation into her 'inside world', using the analogy of the movie "Inside Out" to explore the complex tapestry of human emotions. She emphasizes that all emotions, including fear, despair, joy, and anger, are integral parts of our being and none are inherently evil. Pastor Robinson encourages embracing and understanding these emotions as a pathway to healing, self-awareness, and spiritual growth, highlighting the importance of not judging ourselves harshly but rather seeking God's guidance in navigating our inner landscapes. 3 Discussion Questions for Community Groups: How can acknowledging and understanding our emotions lead to deeper spiritual growth and self-awareness? In what ways can we support each other in embracing and processing our emotions, especially the challenging ones? How does the concept of not judging ourselves or others align with our Christian faith and practice?

Speaker: Bishop Diane Robinson In her sermon, Bishop Diane Robinson passionately speaks about the power and importance of giving, drawing from her personal experiences and biblical teachings. She shares her journey from a humble background, emphasizing how her mother's generous spirit, despite financial hardships, opened windows of blessings for their family. Bishop Robinson encourages the congregation to honor God through giving, highlighting that it's not just a financial act but a spiritual one that invites divine provision and blessings. 3 Discussion Questions for Community Groups: How have you experienced the impact of giving in your own life, both spiritually and materially? In what ways can we cultivate a heart of generosity, even in challenging circumstances? How does giving align with our faith and trust in God as our provider?

Scripture Reading: Malachi 3:6-12 One of the sins of the Israelites in Malachi's time was the failure to give the tithes which the Mosaic law had prescribed. The law required that the Jews pay ten percent of their income/produce to the Levites and to the temple (Num 18:21-26; Deut 14:22-27). God justly accused the Israelites of Malachi's day of robbing Him (Mal 3:8,9). Giving to the work of God is an important element in the life of a Christian. Though Paul does not mention giving ten percent of our income as an ongoing command, the New Testament does reveal principles that should govern our giving. "On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come" (1 Cor 16:2). "Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Cor 9:7). We are to give regularly. "On the first day of every week . . ." As regular exercise is more beneficial to the body than exercising only once in a while, so regular giving is more spiritually beneficial to the soul. We are to give individually. ". . . each of you is to put something aside . . ." The responsibility to give to the Lord's work belongs to every one of us, regardless of economic status. We are to give proportionally. ". . . as he may prosper . . ." Some proportion is suggested in this phrase. The more one has, the more he should give. We are to give deliberately. "Each one must give as he has made up his mind . . ." Giving should be planned, prayerful, thoughtful, budgeted, and not impulsive. We are to give willingly. ". . . not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." The God who owns all things does not lack for resources. He wants our hearts, so He does not want us to give anything that is not offered willingly. The motive for giving comes from a realization of the effects it has on our souls. God does not need our money, but we have the need to give to Him. First, giving produces humility. In giving to the building of the temple in the Old Testament, David declared, "But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you" (1 Chr 29:14). Second, giving produces joy. "Then the people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly" (1 Chr 29:9). Third, giving produces compassion toward the needs of others. "Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need" (Eph 4:28). Fourth, giving produces devotion to God. "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Lk 12:34). Giving to God's eternal kingdom unites our hearts with Him. It follows that if we give regularly to the Lord, we will think about Him more and our hearts will be attached to Him more deeply. The Almighty does not need our money. He can make money out of the grass. The issue in giving is our hearts. In our giving, let us learn to say, with great joy, "O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand and is all your own" (1 Chr 29:16).

On today's podcast we share the prophetic revelation that is tied to the 17th day of Nisan which is the Feast of First Fruits. If you can catch this revelation you can release the Lord's heavens over your life and all that you put your hand to.
In the third message in the series Weak Things, we stopped by to investigate a situation so bad it caused the nation of Israel to cannibalism. Literally, they begin to eat their young. As bad as this situation was, God had already sent a word. He is going to put an end to a severe famine by opening His flood gates. In 2 Kings 7, we read about an abrupt change in a situation. In fact, it would be resolved in less than 24 hours. Oddly in the church, we stopped talking about the Windows of Heaven. It is as though God isn't able. The gate keepers keep telling us God can't change it. Why bother with how it is because nothing will change? Today, I tell you will full assurance of faith that I know He is able and I believe you do too. Take a moment to hear what the Windows of Heaven truly mean. This is a prophetic message for the ages. Be blessed as you watch and hear the Word of God preached.

In the New Testament, there is an account of a rich young ruler who was also a follower of the Master, Jesus Christ. He was already keeping the commandments but asked Jesus a question we would all do well to ponder: "What lack I yet?" When we break that question down into two modern questions and take them to the Lord, He can open the windows of Heaven for us: 1. What is the number one most important thing I can stop doing that will most transform my life? 2. What is the number one most important thing I can start doing that will most transform my life? I call this practice trading up, and in this episode, I will teach you why it matters and how to use it to unlock the power of God in your life. This Week's Shine Challenge: Ask the Lord the two questions above, record His answers, and make a plan to implement them. Want to join the STAND movement? Simeon joins me in this episode to talk about being a wise steward with finances. This is not an area that we have mastered, but we have received much godly wisdom from others that has helped us as we seek to glorify the Lord with the funds He has blessed us with. Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” There is only one other place in Scripture where the phrase "the windows of heaven" is mentioned. Simeon addresses this, and it is an incredible parallel! In this episode, we discuss- *Creating a budget *Obeying the Lord by brining the tithe *Giving to the Lord beyond the tithe *Faith promise giving *Stewarding your household well *Following the Spirit's leading in regards to blessing others through giving Follow my journey by subscribing to this podcast. In this message, Adrian Rogers reveals how to open the windows of Heaven and find financial freedom. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/135/29
Sermon Overview Scripture Passage: Malachi 3:7-11 By definition, stewardship is our relationship with money: how we obtain, save, invest, spend, and give our wealth. God is interested in this relationship—in how we care for the things He places in our hands. Satan, who is also very interested, would love to keep us in financial bondage. Malachi 3 shows us how to open the windows of Heaven and receive the blessing of financial freedom. “Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts. “But you said, ‘In what way shall we return?'” (Malachi 3:7). If we want freedom, we must first recognize our failure; financial bondage is not just debt. If money increases our worries, or if we have plenty in the bank, but no treasure in Heaven, we are in financial bondage. Second, we need to renew our fellowship; God isn't interested in our money, just our hearts. When we remember tithing is God's way of revealing our priorities to ourselves, we will see tithing as a great blessing. It is our privilege to show God that He is first in our lives and everything else is second. After we return to our fellowship with God, we need to release our finances to Him. Adrian Rogers says, “If you can't trust God with your finances, how is God going to trust you with true spiritual riches?” “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10). According to Scripture, tithing is ten percent given to the temple of God (church), for the work of the temple. Giving to charities or ministries is good, but it is not a replacement for our tithes. When we learn to give back to God freely, we'll see a spiritual renewal. God will renew our faith, rebuke our foes, and restore our fruitfulness. Apply it to your life Are you seeking freedom from an indebted spirit? Recognize your failure and renew your fellowship with God. Understand that He wants you, first and foremost. Then, show your faithfulness through tithing.
God is interested in how we care for the things He places in our hands. In Malachi 3, God gives clear instruction on how to be freed from financial bondage. In this message, Adrian Rogers reveals how to open the windows of Heaven and find financial freedom.
