MORPH is back and so are The Sentinels....and so are we. Breaking down the return of Morph and Mastermold and my favourite odd couple Trask and Gyrich! These 2 need a spin off immediately or at least a whole episode dedicated to their tomfoolery. Oh boy both this episode and podcast is jam-packed full of content as we discuss everything MCU: including She-Hulk, Thor: Love and Thunder and the stunt casting of Hugh Jackman in Deadpool 3 as Wolverine once more. Are we frothing over the potential glory of a Deadpool/Wolverine team up on the big screen OR lamenting the perfect send off of Logan as Hugh's final outing? Find out right now... - Bender
To celebrate our 50th episode we're giving you the longest episode ever. Breaking down Xavier Remembers plus catching up on Marvel Movie News with a review of Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness. Sanctuary Part 1..... What an AMAZING episode of X-Men: The Animated Series! The introduction of Asteroid M, The Acolytes, epic action, returning lovers... all overshadowed by the infamous FABIAN CORTEZ; this is one of the finest episodes of X-Men EVER. Brooksey and I break down one of the most ICONIC lines of dialogue written in animated series history as Cortez lays the smackdown on Magneto. Xavier's former gilded lover Amelia Voght returns and we cover a truly outstanding action sequence in Genosha featuring a surprise return of my favourite mechanised villains. Masterfully directed by Larry Houston and written by Steven Melching and David McDermott; Sanctuary Part 1 is one of the best in series Mutant Merch, Marvel Movie News and Generation Mailbag return. Talking pop vinyls, Marvel Lengends, Falcon and Winter Soldier, The MCU and much more. Tune in, this is a cracking episode. - Bender
OMEGA RED returns in a classic madman in a sub with nuclear weapons story, well it could've been a classic if the episodes weren't filled with the wrong cogs. Tune in for a listen of the behind the scenes of the episode as revealed by series creator Eric Lewald's book Previously on X-Men. We breakdown what they coulda done differently to perhaps make it a super outing more deserving of the Soviet Union's greatest "Living Weapon." - Bender
Holy cannoli, I can't believe it's been 4 month since the last episode but WE'RE BACK and so is The Juggernaut! We break it down as usually with some classic Juggernaut moments here as well as the returning "Body Heat" song that was made famous in The Dazzler episode of The Dark Phoenix Saga! Listeners, if you know where we can find that song link us because Brooksey is so hungry/thirsty for it. Marvel Movie News and Mutant Merch is back as we discuss the Black Widow trailer and the Marvel Legends 2-pack I bought at Penrith Collector Con. It's good to be back and we're looking to try and get some eps out more regularly than we have been - Bender
Evil green space cockroaches, with laser tails and Doc Ock arms that ride around in a giant red space whale? I'm interested. The the hell wouldn't beAnother one off Rogue story which reunites her with her first and last kiss Cody, albeit in the company of some intergalactic parasites. This episode is jam packed and outpaced with story but anytime Wolverine saves the day we're all about. Listen to us breakdown one of the most wackiest episodes of X-Men: The Animated Series has to offer.Mutant Merch and Marvel Movies News returns PLUS 2 fan comments in Generation Mail Bag. No word of a lie this is one of the most fun and energetic episodes we've recorded to date.- Bender
Oh boy, in retrospect we really chewed this movie a new arseh*le. If you wanna hear 2 frustrated aussies X-Men fans rip on an unfortunate movie this is the episode for you.Sorry to anyone who enjoyed this flick, we really didn't.- Bender
Everyone's favourite Impudent Rebel Dog Corsair is back, starjamming his way to planet Earth seeking the X-Men's help. This is another Cyclops episode and a serious improvement over No Mutant is an Island featuring old One Eye. This ep made me a huge fan of Starjammers and would've loved another ep featuring these guys and I definitely want a wave of Marvel Legends action figures now. All praise aside we do have some knit picks so buckle up.- Bender
Ready or not, here we rank! The entire X-Men Fox Film Franchised ranked by Brooksey and Bender and compared to online ratings of Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. These are personal rankings based on re-watchability, nostalgia hit, badass action, overall entertainment and innovation. BUT mainly going by the heart -- the only way to judge a film franchise. Tune in to see where the series high of Days of Future Past and Logan compare to series low like Last Stand and Dark Phoenix. - Bender
Say it with me one more time: Awwww Phoenix!!!! That's right everyone it's The Fate of The Phoenix in this epic finale of the Dark Phoenix Saga. Aranin Hala, it's time for the showdown we've all been waiting for The Imperial Guard vs The X-Men. A bunch of great action in this ep and how Lilandra deals with their rogue guardian of creation. Mutant Merch returns PLUS we celebrate our 3 year Anniversary with our bonus ep announcement. - Bender
PHOENIX, PHOENIX, PHOENIX! Aww Phoenix!!! We're breaking down one of the best episodes in The Dark Phoenix Saga -- Part III The Dark Phoenix! The voice of Jean Grey (Catherine Disher) has one of the single most outstanding vocal performances in the entire series. Ranging from the powerful supreme being and a creepy childish Jean Grey in her childhood room. The Dark Phoenix is in full flight here in all her glory and with X-Men: The Last Stand and 2019's Dark Phoenix it's hard to believe that X-Men: The Animated Series still has the best adaptation of the original comic book. PLUS -- Brooksey and I talk about all the online theories of how The X-Men are going to be introduced into the MCU. Personally I think Brooksey has the best method. Tune into the episode to find out. - Bender
BONUS ep for everyone today, we're ranking every film in the MCU and comparing it to 2 online rankings of the most well received movies in the MCU.Buckle in because this is a quite a long list.- Bender
Aww Phoenix! It continues with The Inner Circle (don't call us Hellfire) We breakdown part 2 of the Dark Phoenix saga where nearly 30 years later it's still the best adaptation of the classic comic book. This episode is famous for the GIF of Wolverine carving up a turkey leg but it's also so much more. Jean is introduced to "new sensations" (which is mentioned more times than Uncle Ben's speech in a Spider-Man flashback) Wolverine saving the day again, Mastermind with his victorian ages glove slaps and aristocrats fighting peasants, blank faced goons and purple jacketed wait staff. The escalating quality of The Dark Phoenix Saga is undeniable PLUS we discover another scene that was removed from the DVD release. All this plus another review in Generation Mailbag so tune in to enjoy it all my fellow Generation X-Men-ers.- Bender
Awwww Phoenix!!!... Again. That's right part 1 of The Dark Phoenix Saga and it is quite the saga. Kickin' it off with Dazzled, where Jeans back and now Cyke decides to go to the club in his best casual suit to pick up girls. We breakdown Scott's suicidal motives for cheating on The Phoenix aswell as debuting a new segment called "Agree or Disagree." That's where we take a popular online article and breakdown whether on not we agree or disagree. This weeks topic is from screen rant: "X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Opening Is What The Movie Should've Been"No Marvel Movie News because everything's canned due to COVID19. Can safely assume New Mutants is still on the shelf.- Bender
The not so thrilling conclusion to Savage Land, Strange Heart Part 2. We talk about missed opportunities, stock footage in flashbacks and rock people in loin cloths. Dinosaurs and energy absorption is what this episode's about and Storm cutting loose as her alter ego The Weather Witch!!! Marvel Movie News -- Everything's delayed so we're going through the internet's picks for the MCU's live action X-Men reboot. Who makes the cut? Find out as we break it down.- Bender
WE'RE BACK!After nearly a year long hiatus, the #1 podcast for X-Men: The Animated Series returns! Jumping straight into Savage Land, Strange Heart. Will the return to the Savage Land be more fun than the return to the Mojoverse?X-Men: The Animated Series and Generation X-Men is hotter than ever thanks to Disney Plus, will there be a season 6? We delve into it.Marvel Movie News: touch on Spider-Man: Not Far From Home and the perpetually delayed New Mutants along with the recently delayed Black Widow and Venom 2.- Bender
We know Iceman is kool but does he have the X-Factor? You bet he does. This ep is a return to form for the series and the last of the lost episodes I believe. We get the debut of Bobby Drake plus an extended cameo of X-Factor. I wish we got to see more of these guys; I love Strong Guy and Multiple Man! We revisit previous episode; Longshoot and discuss censored scenes in the dvd versions. More Q&A and Mutant Merch too.PLUS Marvel Movie News this week includes a discussion about how Kevin Feige may have sabotaged Dark Phoenix with Captain Marvel and how Spider-Man: Far From Home is testing.- Bender
Ah man, what happened here; Mojo's back again?!Brooksey and I breakdown the untimely return of Mojo; this time he's on earth. Longshoot and Jubilee crush on each other while Wolverine tries his best to save the episode from quips and 90's references. Hear Brooksey and myself cook up some alternative Mojo episodes on the spot that don't sound too bad whilst simultaneously; be confused by a Pyramid/Protoss Nexus appear outta nowhere during the final battle.PLUS Mutant Merch returns with some Marvel Legends X-Men Action Figures. QnA / Fan Questions are happening too. Be sure to check out our reviews for Dark Phoenix and Avengers Endgame too which didn't make the cut; due to the podcast being 2.5 hours long again.- Bender
AWWWWW PHOENIX!!!!! Dark Phoenix that is.The last of the Fox X-Men movies; did she go out with a bang or a bomb? We break it down and give you our thoughts at the 2nd crack at the live action Dark Phoenix adaptations. Culminating in a 20 year run of X-Men films that are near and dear to our hearts; Brooksey and I swoon over Sophie Turner, cheer the death of one character and ponder about what could've been. Give it a listen and see if Brooksey's ideas for a better Dark Phoenix story get you excited too.- Bender
The culmination of 10 years of Marvel The Never Ending Story wraps up with fan service to cover up the plot holes. Haha just kidding (or am I) Don't crucify me Marvel Junkies we praised the ground it walks on on this 3hr epic as we breakdown some of our favourite bits and a parts we didn't enjoy. Have a listen and tell us what you think.- Bender
And we're back. Having fully recovered from No Mutant is an Island, we're jumping back into the familiar animation style of X-Men: The Animated Series with one of my favourite episodes: Obsession. What I came to find as a classic Apocalypse, Archangel and Beast episode; Obsession delivers a ton of action plus everything you'd want from those 3 main characters including monologues, vengeance, inter-species relationships, sophisticated insults, fascinating technology and getting bigger than we've ever seen Apocalypse before.Marvel Movie News returns with updates on Dark Phoenix and Avengers Endgame PLUS a little mutant merch.- Bender
We had too much to say about this flick to fit it into our regular episode so here are Generation X-Men Podcasts thoughts on Captain Marvel.- Bender
Oh boy talk about your episode's with a history. No Mutant is an Island is a troubled episode of X-Men: The Animated Series infamous for it's let's say.... unique animation style haha and it's delayed 2 year release date which put it's completely out of sync with the rest of the season but we're reviewing it in original script order for all of you to enjoy. Cyclops finds himself outta the X-Men having lost faith in losing Jean to the Phoenix. What's really neat about this episode is that it's one of few where there are 2 versions available to different locations; the unaltered "bad" version on Hulu and the revised "bad" version of it for home release. Makes it an interesting watch for all the wrong reasons because the revised version is just as goofy.ALSO Marvel Movie News returns with Avengers Endgame, Captain Marvel superbowl breakdowns PLUS Dark Phoenix Reshoot dramas.- Bender
"Hahahahaha...ahh hehe hahahaha -- You foolish fools; your foolishness amuses me." Intergalactic philsopher - D'Ken. What a crazy episode and the classic finale of The Phoenix Saga. With the M'Kraan Crystal fractured D'Ken absorbs the power and drags everything inside. He goes full Freddy Krueger, Thanos, in this absolute classic of X-Men: The Animated series.PLUS Marvel Movie News we discuss Spider-Man: Not Far From Home/European Vaction/Euro Trip. Also my tiny and berated review of Aquaman haha. - Bender
The Starjammers my new favourite space team. You know you're getting old when you call something the wrong name and your mate doesn't even notice -- I musta called them the Spacejammers 5 times during the pod and Brooksey never said shit haha either way we both feel this episode is the first one to start feeling like "The Phoenix Saga" and there's only one left. Dunno why, must be because we're finally in space and Phoenix is doing stuff.Bit late but we discuss the 2 big trailer drops -- Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. ALSO we do another fan cast, this time of The Starjammers themselves!
Cry of the Banshee? He's barely in it? But hey I'm only allowed to title my own episodes. Got my favourite recurring character in this episode of the podcast CROWTHER. That's right he's back to talk Juggernaut -- we touch on the infamous "I'm the Juggernaut bitch" internet video and in Marvel Movie News we talk Venom's record shaking opening gross in China!- Bender
INGRATE INCOMPETENT FOOLS! Say what? There's Evil Force Ghost Professor now? Tune into the podcast to find out what going on in the deep and dark recesses of Professor X's mind -- also to find out if the team survived the crash. Phoenix is sorta taking a back seat in this episode haha- Bender
IT BEGINS! Phoenix saga kicking it off with everyone's favourite S&M Daredevil -- Erik The Red? What was 4 issues in the comics the animated series thankfully condenses it in one tight fit episode. Brooksey and I break it down along with tally time and our callback segment "What sort of alcoholic drinks do the X-Men order"PLUS we finally reveal our favourite episodes of each season thus far.- Bender
The Lethal Predator is revealed -- The Spirit Drinker. Brooksey and I breakdown Part 2, the follow up to a super strong opening to season 3 of X-Men: The Animated series. Talking Reavers, Lady Deathstrike and Wolverine; Is it on par with the stellar part 1? Tune in a find out.PLUS in Marvel Move News we're breaking down Avengers 4 subtitles, my thoughts on Venom and what we think about about the outcast James Gunn writing and directing the new Suicide Squad!ALSO I reveal our VIP who's been following the show on youtube.- Bender
Ooo Yeah; The Reavers! Aussie Mercs in an underrated episode of X-Men: The Animated Series. Kicking of season 3 with a winner here in Out of the Past Part 1. I confused it with part 2 on the last podcast and was plesantly surprised at how awesome this was. New animation studio and a more rich and high contrast colour palette makes for a really visually distinct style of animated action here. Really ambitious action scenes too. Breakdown, X-Quiz, Tally Time, Claw Draw and Marvel Movie News returns where we discuss the Captain Marvel and Dark Phoenix Trailers. PLUS a new segment "That Doesn't Make Sense". ALSO we discuss a recent survey which reveals australia's most POPULAR Superhero. The results with surprise you. It's looking to be a great season for the podcast so strap in -- we're just getting started.- Bender
The Boys are back in town whic means the shows back and we've got Reunion Part 2. The thrilling conclusion to the Savage Land saga. Wrapping up all things Mutates and Nasty Boyz; talking He-Man and Battlecat... sorry Kazaar and Zabu and Kazaar's awful plans and body odour. Marvel Movie News returns with our thoughts on the latest regarding James Gunn and Captain Marvel. Was fun getting back into the swing of things and hope to get back to ur regularly scheduled listening.- Bender
Reunion Part 1 -- Big bounce back from the terror of Mojovision. We're back in the Savage Land and we're staying there for a little longer now. Also a SURPRISE location for Wolverine, Cyclops and Jean in their hunt for Morph. Also a debut of He-Man... I mean Kazar and his noble stead Zabu. The Nasty Boys return as we discuss what we want from our Nasty Boys spin-off as well as breaking down the rest of the episode.- Bender
Did I say the last episode was wacky? Well Beauty and The Beast has nothing on this cluster: Mojovision! What were they on and do they have any left to share? This is Beetlejuice, Running Man, Grandmaster and Jabba the Hutt all rolled into one, with more Marvel cameos and TV show spoofs where everyone dies. Sounds crazy? It is, really bloody crazy. That's why Brooksey and I recruited one of our good mates from primary school: Crowtherl to help us burndown the Mojoverse and bury the ashes. (I joke but it seriously was a difficult watch.) We also have Marvel Movie News with our thoughts on Deadpool 2 and my favourite: Cable.- Bender
We're back with Beauty and Beast. No more X-Men: Origins stories unfortunately. Would've loved to have seen a Beast Orgins over this little sad love story about descrimination, love and loss -- is this a kids cartoon or what? Either way we're breaking it down, making tallies and giving you our thoughts on this weird little episode. ALSO be sure to check out our Marvel Movie News and thoughts on Avengers in our other podcast.
INFINITY WAR! We have thoughts on it too vast to fit into the regular podcast so this is Marvel Movie News and Avenger Infinity War MINI Review. What we liked and what I didn't (brooksey didn't not like anything -- loved it) Tune and to find out what I thought was missing.- Bender
X-Men Origins: Rogue or The Fall of Ms Marvel. Regardless of who's side you take this is one of the most tragic stories of X-Men: The Animated Series so far. I don't see anything else coming close to being this side. Appart from being a demise of a superhero story like the death of Superman or Batman Breaks His Back; A Rogue's Tale is also a super creepy story of possession with Rogue being tormented by hallucinations and voices in her head. Just what Saturday morning cartoons should be about. Listen to us break it down and have the most controversial Tally Time so far. PLUS Marvel Movie News - New Mutants, Dark Phoenix and Deadpool 2- Bender
We're back!!! After a few weeks off we return with Time Fugitives Part 2; the 2nd installment of our favourite time travellers Bishop and Cable and we definitely get an epic showdown between the two. The action is relentless, wall to wall thrills and rapid fire story telling. This is one of the fastest episodes to date so listen to us break it down, tally it up and rate this bad boy. PLUS we give you our thoughts on Black Panther and Infinity War in our new segment Marvel Movie News.- Bender
Gotta get back time Huey Lewis and The News style. It's Bishop, it's Cable, it's Terminator 2: Judgemen Day and Back To The Future.... well a few references to it anyway. The spiritual follow up to the Days of Future Past episodes whether we think it tops it or not you'll have to tune in and find out. Being that Bishop and Cable are on board is always gonna win a few bonus points with us, especially with Bishop's Harmonica heavy theme music. We got breakdown, tally time with a BRAND NEW name for mailbag and shout outs PLUS a new segment which we'll call Marve Movie News for now; where we chat about all the latest movie news from Deadpool 2 to Black Panther and New Mutants.- Bender
Tieves and Tassins, talking cajun talk in this episode of the podcast. X-Ternally Yours or X-Men Origins: Gambit is a really fun episode of X-Men: The Animated Series. We get a snapshot of Gambit's past where he deals with a clingy ex-fiancee, 300 year old gang war between the Thieves and the Assassins and their worship of a strange tithe seeking deity called the external. The lore established here is really quite interesting and it's a shame we didn't get to delve into more, unfortunately we gotta keep getting reminders of the damn Savage Land.Regardless, we had a ton of fun with this one, diggin' on Pierre and his crazy cool accent. Matter of fact these are the best/funniest accents we've seen in animation. Also another badass opening which turns into a brutal Danger Room session where Cyclops is nearly killed. Very reminicent of the first Robocop for me. Really cool stuff.- Bender
We're back for 2018 and we got X-Men Origins: Wolverine or Repo Man depending on your preference. Talk Alpha Flight, the canadian Avengers and Vindicator's broken bromance with Wolverine. Twas interesting revisiting this ep as this was the first of many times where Wolverine's adamantium origins were referenced in the series. We got the usual breakdown, x-quiz and tally time with RECORD BREAKING Claw Draw. ALSO in light of the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi I kept a short bit about our thoughts about the film. I figure why not? Marvel, X-Men, Star Wars; they're all under the same banner now anyway.- Bender
A very special episode of the podcast today because we've got our first GUEST stars. If you didn't know Brooksey and I have younger simblings and they're coming on board to chat about Red Dawn. Kim and Mike share their thoughts on first watching X-Men whilst also breaking down Omega Red, russian accents, Storms pre-fight poetry and one-off stories vs main plot stories. Omega Red was always a favourite of mine and as I found out on this episode I was alone on this one. The podcast ran a little long but forgive us because we were having a great time and hope younger Brookes and Li'l Bender come back in the future.- Bender
Whatever it takes for Brooksey to sit through this episode. He wasn't have a ton of fun watching Mjnari being chased by The Shadow King bu for me it was a nostalgia episode I used to watch a fair bit. On IMDB and the rest of the internet this episode is considered to be sub-par in comparison to the rest; whether that's true or not you'll have to listen and find out. We got X-Quiz, Breakdown and Tally Time as usual but we also discuss the Astral Plane and a HUGE missed opportunity regarding the showdown between Professor X and The Shadowking. I really wish we got to see that.- Bender
Till Death Do Us Part Part 2 (still fun to say without a pause) We got a full blast of Mr Sinister doing sinster stuff as well as my new favourites The Nasty Boys! Morph's still up to no good and we get to see how he is the way he is with the whole Smeagol/Gollum, Rogues nod to Wonder Woman and Cyclops not making any sense because he's Booty Blinded by his one-eyed cyclops. Got the breakdown and claw draw PLUS a very special mailbag and shout out; LENORE ZANN the voice of Rogue dropped us a line on twitter! Listen to me geek out when she calls me (not Brooksey) Sugar Down Under. Give her a follow on twitter @ZannLenore and show some love because even though I can do it all myself it'd be nice to let her feel the love from all the fans worldwide- Bender
Till Death Do Us Part Part 1 (It's fun to say without the pause) New season which means a new disc in Brooksey's dvd box set of X-Men: The Animated Series. Morph's back and is wreacking havoc on the X-Men or Extreme Trolling, whatever you prefer. We're introduced to the FOH, talk about Wolverines undying obsession with Jean, Gambit's undying obsession to pash off with Rogue and what's really on Professor XXX's private video line. We also mention a controversial censorship cut made for the dvd release that was not on the original television broadcast aswell as the usual Breakdown, tally time and claw draw. This was a neat little "reset the pieces" episode for the series which sets up a number of story arcs for the rest of the season. - Bender
The Final Decision and the final episode of season 1 of X-Men: The Animated Series. Going out with a bang with mass sentinel destruction in an action packed finale. I love me some sentinels and if you do too, this was a great send off. Hitting a personal milestone here at Generation X-Men because we're already ONE season down. With only 4 to go things seem to be moving crazy fast. Got the usual breakdown, tally time and clawdraw BUT we have a great mailbag segment in which Brooksey answers "How rich is the professor and how's he REALLY funding his little team of destructive X-Men?"- Bender
Days of Future Past Part 2; as good as part 1? Not really, but we're gonna talk about it any. The big follow up to one of our favourite episodes ever and the thrilling finale of the first Bishop time travel story. We talk about another spin off "The Tomfoolery of Bishop and Wolverine" a buddy comedy about an uncanny X-Odd Couple; I personally think it would be hilarious. Let's make it happen. Also got the usual X-Quiz, Breakdown and tally time- Bender
FOR THE FUTURE! Greetings traitors we are up to a marvelous episode and dare I say the best so far Days of Future F'ing Past Part 1. Holy moley, did we have fun with this one. Little background, before Brooksey and I started the podcast if ever X-Men: The Animated Series came up in conversation this episode was the first to be mentioned. If I said "Hey Brooksey, remember the X-Men cartoon?" he would either say "Traitor" or "Your future ends now!!!" This was always the most talked about episode on the playgrounds of Narara Public School and after the rewatch there's no doubt it's one of the best. Got the usual X-Quiz, Breakdown and tally time; we ran a little long on this podcast but it's only because we were having so much fun.- Bender
The first taste of Apocalypse! In the podcast we talk about how he monologues, transforms, phases, blasts stuff and gets big and everything. We get introduced to Archangel aswell, setup the long running feud between him and the big man, Apoc's lackluster horsemen and what the X-Men would order at the bar. Got the usual breakdown, tally time and claw draw. Sorry we're late too haha.- Bender
Ready to feel sad for Rogue again? I know I am. We're up to episode 9; The Cure and in the podcast today we answer the big questions: Where's Pyro from? Why doesn't he sound Australian? What does he sound like? Who does episode belong to? Seeing how there's Rogue, Cable, Apocalypse, Mystique AND Pyro, Avalanche, The Professor and Moira Mactaggert. Seem crowded? Tune in a find out. - Bender
It's the Juggernaut, friends. Having some laughs big time with this episode seeing how it's the first appearance of internet meme darling The Juggernaut. I forgot how funny and entertaining the Juggernaut can be and somewhat disappointed when I remember how little of him we see in the upcoming seasons. Tally time, too many questions and breakdown as usual in this ep BUT we also discuss character specific musical themes and their importance to the series.- Bender
