Assuming the worst can be a slippery slope leading to unnecessary division, mistrust, and misunderstanding. Assuming the worst about someone or a situation often stems from a lack of knowledge or understanding, fueled by stereotypes or preconceived notions. However, this approach hampers meaningful dialogue and connection. Instead, fostering open-mindedness and curiosity allows for genuine engagement and the opportunity to learn from one another's perspectives. By refraining from silent assumptions and actively seeking understanding, we pave the way for empathy, and tolerance, cultivating a richer relationship and understanding for one another. Parenting as a Christian Mom

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 26, 2024 57:54

As Christian mothers, it's vital that we carefully consider how we communicate with our children and the language we use. Our words hold immense power; they can either uplift our children or tear them down. We should raise our children to embrace a deep love for God and Jesus, guiding them to live by biblical standards rather than conforming to worldly norms. Discipline is necessary, but it must never be driven by anger or frustration. Instead, let's prioritize entering into God's presence, allowing ourselves to find peace. From there, we can seek guidance from the Holy Spirit to discipline our children in alignment with God's Word. Our actions and words towards our children will shape the values of future generations, including our grandchildren. It's crucial to instill biblical principles in our children, steering them away from inheriting our traumas and generational burdens. If we don't address and heal from our own struggles, they risk being passed down. Thus, breaking negative cycles and pursuing healing is essential to leave a positive legacy for generations to come. Scriptures  Proverbs 18:21 ”The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.“ Proverbs 22:6 ”Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.“ James 1:19-20 ”Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.“ Email us if you are a single mother or a single woman looking for community. When God showed Joseph what was to take place in his life in the near future, God didn't show Joseph what he would endure getting to that place. God knew if he showed Joseph all he would endure Joseph would have done things differently. Well, we are in that same season Joseph was in before he was able to see the vision God showed him come to pass. Just like Joseph in his trials & tribulations, he pressed into God seeking God's face daily, we are in the same season. In this episode, we discuss navigating through life's storms by praising God. We know it's easier said than done, but we are in the middle of a storm right now, and praising God is the only way we have stayed afloat.  Scriptures Matthew 6:25-33 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? 28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? 31 “So don't worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 1 King 19:1-8 When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal. 2 So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.” 3 Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. 4 Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.” 5 Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!” 6 He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again. 7 Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” 8 So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai,[a] the mountain of God. We have the power through Holy Spirit to set the tone for our day. Our words have the power to create and bring to pass all that God has for us. God Placed His spirit in us and breathe His breath into us and we came alive which means that the same breath we have in us that is of God gives us the power through the Holy Spirit to speak God's promises over our lives. This means we must walk in that Godly confidence power given to us by God Himself. Scriptures Psalm 84:11 The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. Proverbs 11:9b With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous. Genesis 1:27 So God created human beings[a] in his own image. In the image of God, he created them; male and female he created them. Being a mother is the most beautiful emotional responsibility a woman can have.  When much is given much is required. As beautiful as motherhood is, being a single mother can be spiritually, emotionally, and physically exhausting. We are carrying the load of both mother and father which is not what God intended, but we know with God all things work together for good. Join us as we discuss what it looks like to step back and let God fill the position of being our children's fathers while we just be their mothers.  Scriptures Romans 8:28 NKJV “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Matthew 5:3 MSG “You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. In this episode, we talk about the importance of learning to find safety in God rather than in people, or physical things. Before you can be certain that God is your safe place you must know your identity in Christ. You must know that as God's children, He takes total responsibility for us and takes care of us when we surrender our lives to Him. If you're looking for safety in everyone or everything but God you will always be worrying, looking over your shoulder, and in constant anxiety. But the moment you approach God as a child with childlike faith you will begin to experience His peace and protection covering you. Scripture Psalms 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 1 Timothy 6:17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. When we abide, remain, and linger in the Lord. What that looks like is we are reading the word and allowing the word to read us. We are dissecting the scripture looking up the meaning of certain words, and meditating on it for as long as we need to until it makes sense to us and resonates with us in our current situation. Abiding is also putting on worship music or singing our hearts out to the Lord, or we are praying consistently, whether that's out loud or in a prayer journal. When God tells us to abide or linger in Him, He is calling us to spend time with Him. Because He knows how hard this faith walk can be especially when we are facing the daily storms of life. His word is what fuels us with faith, hope, and perseverance to keep going. These branches could be relationships that are not spiritually healthy for us, childhood trauma we have not dealt with, past abuse or hurt we never spoke of, and or words people spoke to us that kept us bound in a state of mind that I'm not good enough. In this episode, we discuss what Holy Living means to us. We wanted to do our best to clear up the misconception of living a Holy life. Many people believe living a Holy life means you have to be perfect all time, which is not the case because no one is perfect. Holy living is not about being perfect but about making an effort to live according to God's will; it's not about perfection but progression. The only way you can live a Holy Life is by having a personal relationship with the Lord; this happens when you spend intentional time with the Lord by reading his word.  When we have a loving, trusting, and personal relationship with God, it becomes easier to live a Holy life expressed through walking in obedience to God's Will. All Holy Living really is a set of radically different values than those of this world.  Scriptures  2 Peter 1:3-4 Ephesians 4:24 Romans 12:2 Psalm 119:9 Psalm 51:9-10 Song: Change Me By Tamela Mann Gracefully Loved Ministries do not own the artwork. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gracefullylovepodcast/support
