This week on Hidden talent we introduce you to Chandler Jay, a 16 year old emerging Singer-Songwriter from Brisbane. We discuss Chandler's music studies, songwriting, recording and performing as well as finding out all we can about his latest release ‘Meant to be'. In this episode we talk to the amazingly talented Caitlyn Shadbolt. We discuss recording an album during covid. The release of her new full length album ‘Stages' as well as health, songwriting and of course we ask the 5 big questions that will answer all the questions that you have about Caitlyn. A finalist in the sixth season of The ‘X Factor' Australia, Caitlyn went on to secure a recording deal with ABC MUSIC and release her debut album, Songs On My Sleeve (May 2017). Upon release, the album hit #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart. The first single, ‘My Break Up Anthem', held the #1 National Country Airplay Chart for over 8 consecutive weeks and became the 2nd most played song on Country Radio (held out of the top spot by Sam Hunt's monster hit 'Body Like A Backroad'). Caitlyn was recognised for her achievements by winning the CMC Award for Best New Artist, along with a nomination for Female Artist of the Year.As Caitlyn knuckled down on preparations for her second full length album release, STAGES, the Covid pandemic and all the various restrictions took precedence. But where there is a will, there is a way and Caitlyn started the recording process from her home in Gympie with producer, Stuart Stuart, in his Brisbane Analog Heart studio. With a momentary delay, Caitlyn was able to record and drop her 2nd single, Porcelain, in June.

Matt Hawkins is a Brisbane-based singer-songwriter, whose influences include Paul Kelly, The Lemonheads, The Simpletons, Darren Hanlon, Robert Forster and others. Having played in Brisbane bands for some time, in late 2019, he decided to go it alone! "Bridge of Stories", a song inspired by Brisbane author Trent Dalton's debut novel, 'Boy Swallows Universe', was released early 2020. "Never Too Far", a duet about a couple kept apart by an annoying global pandemic, co-written by Aleta Booth, is Matt's second single.
