Steven and Ian open with a conversation about a memorable Halloween from 10 years ago (0:56). Then they do a Sportscast on the World Series (5:59), and Steven's belief that he's spiritually Canadian. From there, they pivot to the gossipy reception to Lily Allen's new album, and her legacy as a blog-friendly indie-pop phenom from the 2000s (12:25).They also talk about a list of notable Halloween songs that aren't actually about Halloween (19:41) and the prospect for musician biopics after the relative box-office failure of the Bruce Springsteen movie.(29:01). After a quick check-in on the Fantasy Album Draft (42:53), they do a "yay or nay" on whether Feels is Animal Collective's best album (46:36).In Recommendation Corner, Ian talks about Berlin ambient artist Ben Bondy and Steven goes with Chicago indie legend Sam Prekop (50:44).New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Thanks to everyone who donated to The AM and CJSW for this year's funding drive—62 donations to the show is a wonderful thing to see and I'm glad that this show means enough to you to make your donations. This week's episode is back to the normal AM mix, with a jangle-pop throwback, plenty of brand new music, a bit of early 2000s YYC nostalgia, and other low-key sounds for the last week of October. Heute bringen The Lemonheads ihr 11. „It's About Time“, dass bei Stereo.Typen mal The Lemonheads geehrt werden.
Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Billy Branch!Billy Branch is one of the most respected and influential harmonica players of his generation — a true ambassador of Chicago Blues. Discovered by the legendary Willie Dixon, often called the “father of modern Chicago Blues,” Branch was still in college when Dixon took him under his wing. Dixon urged him to complete his degree, which he did, earning a political science degree before joining Willie Dixon's Chicago All-Stars. http://www.makingascene.org

In this episode of Seeing Them Live, Charles and Doug welcome back Andy, a school teacher and avid live music fan, to share his an After Show Report on the 2025 Bonnaroo Music Festival. Despite carefully planning his trip with his friend Teddy and driving nine hours to the festival, Andy faced a series of unexpected challenges and adventures. The trip kicks off with a tense interaction with law enforcement when they are pulled over by a Kentucky State Trooper, escalating as a K-9 unit arrives. Fortunately, they are allowed to proceed to Bonnaroo without any legal troubles.Upon arrival, Andy and Teddy set up their elaborate campsite, which included modern amenities like a solar generator and 42-inch TV. The first night involved acclimatizing to the youthful crowd and loud electronic dance music that played until the early hours. Things took a dramatic turn when Teddy experienced a sudden medical emergency and had to leave, promising to return later to pick Andy up. Later, a severe storm brought torrential rains and flooding, leading to the cancellation of the entire festival due to infrastructural failure. Despite disappointment, Andy encountered numerous acts of kindness from fellow festival-goers and eventually managed to get back home safely, albeit with a vivid, unforgettable experience.BANDS: Dogs in a Pile, Eurythmics, Foster the People, Goose, Insane Clown Posse, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Lemon Twigs, Luke Combs, Marcus King, Miranda Lambert, Parisi.VENUES:Â 2025 Bonnaroo Music Festival.
